Got my P20 pro, just love it! Thinking about the mate 20....... I use to have a mate 9, just love it, even it’s not perfect, but man, that long battery life opens my eyes, no more changing daily. Thanks for the video! After watching this, I'd decided to go with the P20 Pro. For double the price, the Mate 20 Pro doesn't offer much more of what I need. A thinner bezel, faster wireless charging, Android 9, better processor for playing games and especially a curved display - those are the things that I don't need. I love that ultrawide camera but I can live without it.
It's nothing to do with the resolution. I don't care about the resolution. It's the wallpaper. Looks too busy and not showing the display at all. A plain wallpaper would of been better or a default one.
I have had iPhones for years. Currently rocking a 7 that is about to get replaced. Haven't used android since the old Galaxy S3 days. Just can't justify paying the apple tax anymore. The only thing that gives me any pause is that we live in China, so google services are blocked here unless you use a VPN. That can sometimes be a pain in the ass. But screw apple, I'll deal with it. I'll go to the Huawei store. I'd rather have the Mate 20 pro, but will gladly take the P20 pro if the price difference is substantial.

I was really really all about the new Mate 20 Pro... until I saw that squared camera setup. I'm not a huge fan of that centered camera, I like the setup like it is on the P20 Pro. I currently have the Twilight P20 and would certainly upgrade to the Twilight Mate 20 Pro but I have hard time getting over the square cameras.
teo but you dont look all the Time on to the back of the mate 20 pro. You are looking to the screen in the Front and that is which matters. With the settings changed like the more android pie style of on screen navigation. The swipe gestures to close apps or return to previous screen. Can u still easy drop down the notification bar? With the old settings u can add a button to drop it down, can u also with the gesture mode?

How long does the battery last on mate 20 Pro if I was to watch Netflix. I've been reading reviews that people have streamed HD videos for over an hour only loosing 5%. But I loose at least 10 after 15 mins. Any ideas on this?
I don't know if Gesture Navigation will come to P20 Pro. I updated mine with Android Pie Beta but there's no Gesture navigation just like in Mate 20, it just had the old Fingerprint Navigation. Maybe because it's still beta. Or maybe it won't really come because of the Front Fingerprint Scanner.

But at this price point, $AU1,599, and given that Huawei’s customer support is next to non-existence as most Chinese companies overseas, in addition to the huge security risks (leading to a ban of Huawei in the US), it is just not worth the risk. Should it be banned in Australia or Europe, there would be no more updates in a timely manner, provided that Chinese companies are never good at software updates, even the exploding Samsung is better. I have to agree that this is a brilliant phone, but when I purchase it, I don’t just purchase it on its own for that price, I would be expecting similar customer service and after-sales software updates like Apple and Pixels, given that price point. Thus overall, like what some sources in Australia and the US indicate, it is a great phone, but not worth buying if you are not in mainland China.

Even so, service centres won't give you a replacement or refund under the consumer law in Australia, and Huawei has no physical store here, nor in most parts in Europe. But at the end of the day, I think the biggest problem is with their customer service and continuous software update after-sales.

, I am from the Philippines and I have been reading that several users from here as well as in different countries are experiencing the "Display Bleed Issue" on the Mate 20 Pro and it seems to be more common in ones whose hardware touchscreen is LG versus BOE (when checked with Device HW app). What do you think about this? I have heard if Huawei has release an official statement on this, but I hope they do soon...
I'm also from Ph and I've been asking around on that issue.. Sadly there are units in the Ph that has the issue. I was so sure to buy the Mate 20 pro but now I'm looking for alternatives to upgrade from my S7. Have you already bought one?
