- Oregon State's Jade Carey scored a perfect 10 on beam, her first-ever in the event, in a meet against Arizona State in Tempe on March 4, 2023. Carey has now earned a 10 in every event and becomes the 13th NCAA gymnast to ever accomplish such a feat.

I'm a (nearly) 65 year old ex gymnast. From back in the day when we were self-taught - watch and do - for the sheer fun of it! I love Jade Carey! Wish her all the best.
52 here. We're weren't self taught, but didn't have the equipment they have today! Love Jade! I think the FIG is ruining the sport more every quad with insane deductions and requirements. But still love the sport!

😮I am so proud of her. ❤ Have watched her since the last Olympics and she became my favorite gymnast. Her floor routine was soo amazing!!! Hated she miss-stepped on her jump on another event. I’m glad she’s still competing because she has gotten even better. Looking so good!

That is her plan right now. She definitely wants to go as a member of the team.
Yep! She's planning to go for a team spot this time. I think the Paris team will be Jade, Jordan, Konnor, Shilese, and Suni with Leeann as an alternate.

Yes, her switch side is gorgeous, and has been these last few years. I think she should remove split leaps and jumps and focus on straddles.
Nice job…that was a slow routine and would get all the artistry deductions in elite but was technically perfect. Hope the 10 gives her confidence to show off and show extension and fluidity in the dance in the future.

I want you to compare this “10” beam routine to Peng-Peng Lee’s 10 beam routine and tell me they are the same caliber. Spoiler Alert: They Aren’t!

She doesn't hesitate, she doesn't pause to gain composure. She is a very deliberate gymnast, no deduction in NCAA for that. Sorry!

So many people say this, but I don't see it. She does lack fluidity, but her rhythm seems fine.

Fluidity isn't a focus of these competitions. And NCAA is more like a commercial & stars show than elite sports. More people watch NCAA because of the star effect (Olympic gold medalist), so of course she's favored. Men's side would probably be more like a sports, but hardly as popular as women's side.

This was not a 10 routine (very clean and great though). The NCAA judges are making themselves look like fools giving out 10 like candy.
How is that? Where were her checks? Wobbles? Lack of split position? Are you even familiar with NCAA scoring? It's not elite, not even close!
Have you watched literally any of the SEC meets? Hayleigh Bryant got 10s without stuck landings. The judges this year proved they are all Jack asses.
