Good video. In theory - everything the poster talks about is correct. But be warned...slipping the straps up through the buckles is a very tedious process. I needed to undo the straps from how the product shipped to me. After that, it was a little easier, however it still took me about an hour to slowly fish the straps up through the buckle. Very frustrating...but it worked out and fastened very securely to my helmet. Good luck!
Yes you can all the cameras are the same. All that changes are the mounts that come with the kit. If you have the surf edition you may want to get some more mounts.
If you were to strap it through the vents closer to the front of the helmet, so it's more aerodynamic, does it stay secured? And does the mount swivel up that much so the camera is still 90 degrees from the ground?
Hey. Could this strap hold the GoPro solidly on the forehead like in an NVG-style helmet mounting position. If you could try mounting it that way for me and try it on a few different road cycling helmets and seeing posting what you find out, I'd really see to see a video on that. If it can be found to sit firmly on the forehead and making a DUY counterweight on the back of the helmet will be no big deal.
Hello. I have a Sj5000X and was strugling on a good and secure bike helmet mounting. This one is just perfect!! Fortunately for me, the straps come with the package. ;) Thank you very much.
I bought a vented helmet strap mount on amazon and mine does not have the clips like yours does, mine has some sort of dual strap friction buckle on either side and it seems about impossible to get very tight. Can you order one on Amazon and see if you can figure it out or do you know of anyone that has a video for this cheapo strap? I got the camera for work so if anyone hurts me at least the cops will be able to see who did it.
I had the same problem. For me, the problem fix was to remove the straps from running through the clips because when shipped, they put the strap through the clip for some reason I can't fathom. Once the strap was removed from running through the clip, then you can run the strap through the clip yourself and secure it.
The major problem is getting the ends of the flimsy straps back through the buckle. The buckle design is a bad one. It should provide more space for the strap to go through.
This is a really valid problem. I think if you cover the end of the strap with super glue or dip it in epoxy you will harden the end up and be easily able to pass it through the slot.
im also happy for some advanced tutorials but @kylemartn101 can't always do that with only GOPRO videos! Its very difficult for him to have a new video because there aren't a lot of things remaining for him to talk about... I think he should do tutorial videos about other things not only the GOPRO
Taking my chance of someone replying to a 9 year old video, but I just got my hands on a GoPro Hero 5 and it doesn't have any accessories. Do anyone know where I can buy this particular strap, I live in the UK btw. TIA
I bought mine directly from GoPro right here: gopro.com/en/us/shop/mounts-accessories/vented-helmet-strap-mount/GVHS30.html Please note...the camera itself, will not attach to this mount directly...you need one of those 'sled mounts' with the sidescrew which will attach the camera to this helmet mount.
I had bought a different helmet on Amazon at the beginning of this summer for my big headed daughter to wear while bicycling and scootering. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx0ipcYkXV-2YCp_cBN3HLfzR_OoD0HQYx Well it was WAY too big and not adjustable at all. Previously we had really expensive but adjustable helmets from the local bike store and I didn't really want to pay $50 again for another helmet. I searched and was fairly sure from the reviews that this helmet was what I was looking for- and it was! The pads inside are comfortable, the rim in front provides a bit of shade, but most of all for me there is the dial adjuster in the back which allows for a really secure fit on my daughters head. It seems like it will fit for a few years too which makes me even happier! She loves the pattern and I might end up buying another one for her twin sister (who has a much smaller head!)I definitely recommend this helmet. My daughter is 5 but has a big head. Her twin sister could fit in this one as well but it's a bit big.

Thanks, man. I was trying to figure out. I really had no clue.
If you were to strap it through the vents closer to the front of the helmet, so it's more aerodynamic, does it stay secured? And does the mount swivel up that much so the camera is still 90 degrees from the ground?
You can it comes with adhesive mounts that could be used to mount on the side of a helmet.
What do you do about the battery life tho? Are these on for record for your entire journey?
Now I finally know how to mount that thing on my helmet! Thanks!

Thank you to the video in 2021
Don't forget the White rubber part, this stops the camera from disconnecting with the mount, it also helps with Vibration!

Super helpful thanks!
Thank you so much brother I am for India

Thank you, that is a better solution to sticky mounts :)

Thank you I don't have a gopro but I am getting one that is exactly the same its called a yuntab
Just thought you should know...
You mounted the camera fasing the rear of the helmet !
Sometimes you want a shot of the person riding behind you. I do this all the time when skiing.
But it's not facing the helmet rear.
no its facing the front of the helmet. the back is pointy
It was just a tutorial... Who cares
No he didnt.....
Thanks :)
Alex Green it Must have come with his GoPro, I’m not sure....
How much ??
What if you don't have that helmet
I dont understand the question
Very helpful vid thanks 👍 subscribe
Yes this is not the best mount. The best thing for you to do is pull the straps as tight as possible
mean i got Gear pro... :/ helmet mount is crapply made. and dose not have a friendly set up system for the helmet mount
i need strap mount :(
I cant make this… -impossible unwrap rest
