- Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! Here's a video of winding the D&A Waltham wall clock. Since the making of this video, I had to wind the clock a few weeks after I took this video and unfortunately as I winding the running power, something snapped and the clock broke. So as of now, the clock does not run anymore, I will try to get it fixed at some point. (Who knows when that will be) Definitely sad to see it break, it's a nice clock.

I found a Meiji clock yesterday at an estate sale for $35 dollars. A man was standing behind me waiting for me to talk away, then I googled how much they were and they were pricing in the hundreds. I took it off the wall and crushed his hopes of getting it. It looks really good to my vintage decor in my house and it works perfectly fine! I feel so lucky!
Love your Waltham clock
Thanks!
Did you get it fixed James?
Hello I have this same clock and my pendulum wants to keep stopping! It is wound up the chime is working too. Tell me how to resolve this problem. It used to me my moms clock THANK YOU!!!
The clock may need a cleaning and or need to be oiled. I recommend purchasing clock oil and oiling the mechanism connected to the pendulum
A very strange key on the clock! Is it so hard to wind up?
@@georgfogel576 yeah it made it difficult to wind
Did you overwind it? That could be a reason for it to snap. Winding it too much can cause the spring to snap.
That's possible, however I had no problem in the past winding it up all the way.
It can't be overwound. If the spring breaks, it was worn out to begin with and would have broken eventually anyway.
@@toothlesstoe that’s probably what happened honestly.
If he overwound it sir it wouldn’t run until the spring would be free enough
i have a d&a just like it i found at the flea market for $10 years ago. my wrist gets tired out and i have to take short breaks during winding.
Yeah same my wrist also gets tired too winding all my clocks
@@Jamestube8439 only 1 clock and my wrist gets tired out :)
Nothing like a fishing reel handle clock winding key!
Yeah lol!
Merry Christmas!!!🎄
Merry Christmas Clock 5000!
Interesting. I have the same clock and the right keyhole on mine clearly indicates to turn counterclockwise, unlike your which points clockwise.
Interesting
Mine does to!
I found the same clock sold by the Daniel Dakota company with a Seiko quartz movement and Westminster chime. It's mark Made in Korea. I found it in trash and give it a second life...runs like a new one.
That’s awesome! Props to you for rescuing that clock!
Which side winds the clock and which side winds the chime?
I don't remember, this clock broke since the making of this video.

That’s a weird key!
Yeah it is, it's a pain to use.
Hi I have the same clock but my pendulum doesn't even move. Any idea how I can fix this?
Did you wind the clock all the way and give the pendulum a slight push to start? And if you did, how long does it run before it stops?
The pendulum stops in 1 minute
@@huzman8429 It may need to be oiled near the pendulum mechanism. I had to do that to one of my clocks which fixed it
Okay thanks. I'll try to oil it
@@huzman8429 yeah not a problem, hopefully it works.
Can it be silenced at night
No.
I have the same question.
I have this same clock
Awesome!
Boy that is challenging to try to whine the Clock with the shape of that key just get a regular metal key like most women clocks it might be easier
Yeah it was a challenge, definitely hated winding this thing.
