Yeah! The size is truly breathtaking. The 1:450 scale in the FDM version of the model ensures excellent 3D printing quality for filament 3D printers while showcasing the intricate details of the model. Additionally, the high-poly nature of the files allows for scaling up, making it perfect for even larger displays.
Thank you for your question! The Helm's Deep model is available in two recommended scales: 1:450 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:900 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions. These scales are carefully chosen by our Team to ensure the best balance of detail, ease of assembly, and compatibility with various 3D printers. While we generally advise against downscaling models or using smaller versions on filament 3D printers due to potential loss of detail and assembly complications, upscaling is harmless and allows for impressive results due to the high-poly nature of the models we provide. Achieving the exact 28 mm scale (approximately 1:60) for the Helm's Deep would result in an extremely large model. This may not be practical for most home 3D printers. If you're interested in a Helm's Deep model that's closer in size to your 28 mm miniatures, rather than a scale factor, the DLP/SLA/SLS version might be a better option. This version comes in the 1:900 scale, and the printed model will have dimensions of 165 mm high, 380 mm wide, and 304 mm deep. You could even consider carefully downscaling this version. However, we recommend test-printing a small part of the model to fine-tune your printing settings and ensure optimal results. Remember, when you purchase from Gambody, you don't just get premium STL files, you also get lifetime technical support included in the price. Whether you need advice on scaling, slicer settings, or troubleshooting printing or assembly issues, our Team is always ready to assist. We hope this helps! Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
@@davidebasso1102 You're welcome, and we're happy to hear the explanation was helpful! Thank you for the suggestion! What do you think about 3D printing Barad-dur? This year the Dark Fortress of Sauron was added to Gambody catalogue and has already gained tens of fans in our community: www.gambody.com/premium/barad-dur. The dreams are closer than you think!
Thank you for the comment! Please, be informed that the chosen scale for Helm’s Deep model for 3D printing is 1:450 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:900 for the DLP/SLA version. The creation of the elves' 3D models that will match the scale of the valley is impossible from a technical point of view. Additionally, Helm’s Deep is a complex and time-consumable landscape 3D printing design, it took many hours of laborious work for our contributor to realize it achieving results that are groundbreaking judging from the 3D design development perspective. If you are interested in characters from LOTR, we encourage you to look at our selection of models for 3D printing inspired by the legendary high fantasy novel: www.gambody.com/premium?q=lord+of+the+rings. If you want to see some characters, that are not present on the marketplace for the moment, don’t hesitate to write us here or at support@gambody.com and leave your suggestions: they will be added to Gambody Wishlist.

Can this be scaled to 28mm to use with Games Workshop miniatures?

@Gambody_com thank you for the exhaustive answer
@Gambody_com my idea was to upscale the model but I am afraid of the loss on details
