I love how this film exposes these big companies into spying on you with their devices and stealing your information, of course kids wouldn't think of that watching this but as an adult you do.
Not sure if it exposes it exactly, as it has been exposed many times already. It's more like shoving it in our faces, or bragging, brainwashing or subjecting it subliminally to kids to accept it and not be surprised by it.
Saw this today. Turned out to actually be pretty good with surprisingly deep stuff not only about issues with social media but also toxic friendships. I admit I went in with low expectations.

I took my two nephews to see this, I'm a 45 yr old batchelor. EVERYBODY in my family loved this movie. My face muscles are still sore from laughing/smiling. 6/5, finally a movie amongst the trash movies out there that made you leave the theater feeling good and happy. Thanks for this movie!
This is what I’ve been saying lol!! I don’t usually laugh out loud at a movie but I was freaking CACKLING at some of the stuff they put in this one. It’s a lot funnier and smarter than the trailers made it look
it was SO funny!! and heart-warming!! at some parts i cried from laughing, and at others teared up because i was touched. 😭😭 i absolutely LOST it at the part where barney said he was afraid of things without faces 😂😂💀💀

SPOILERS I watched the movie and you’re almost 100% right. Basically he got damaged, but the “damage” ended up being a good thing cause it got rid of the coding that would’ve made him nothing but a mindless robot. And this made him get smarter almost to the point of being sentient because he was actually learning things instead of just going along with whatever his “master” told him to do
@Lemon True, maybe applies for everybody else as well. This robot is the perfect example to study for mindology (I made up that word, and I want it to mean "Study of Minds"). You knew that it can be easily corrupted if taught wrong. That knowledge you said is part of mindology.
Lemme guess Kid wants something that everyone else has and feels outcasted. Kid gets the thing and becomes a cool kid. Something happens that causes tension in the relationship. They split up. They come back together when something bad happens and they save the day. They make up and say sorry. The end.
You forgot to add the moral of the story he finds out at the end: “don’t be like everyone else; be different” Can we have a different moral plot rather than this overdone “I’m quirky and different” one? It’s getting old
This one looks to be a cute animated film and although the story of the friendship between a Human and a Robot is derivative and told many times before (e.g. Big Hero 6, The Iron Giant, Next Gen, etc.), for this film being the first under Locksmith Animation, I'm giving this a shot as I love the voice cast and the friendship Barney has with Ron whose malfunctioning. As for _Ron's Gone Wrong_ being similar to _The Mitchells vs. The Machines_ in story as Isaac Carlson (Wotso Videos) previously mentioned, not necessarily as _Ron_ is more about the friendship between Barney and Ron similar to Hiro and Baymax from _Big Hero 6_ and Hogarth & The Iron Giant from _The Iron Giant_ while _Mitchells_ is more about family along with the Mitchells Family trying to survive a Robot Apocalypse. Funny enough, Olivia Colman who appears in _The Mitchells vs. The Machines_ is set to be in this film so that's the closest coincidence we're going to get.

Just had to say how amazing this movie is, Great expressions storyline, animation and personally hit close to home as someone who’s autistic and can’t make friends easily it also was emotional and funny at the same time with a great perspective on society and what social media does to us conveying a message that we don’t always need social media to be happy and it can sometimes be our greatest downfall and to just be okay with yourself id honestly watch this movie a million times and already would like a sequel
I think what I like about this movie's setting, is that it's not a very hard cyberpunk feel, that I see all too often with robots at its core. It definitely feels relieving to see normal environments, while robots coexist with it.

I can't belive I'm saying this but this film is actually amazing. I was so surprised. You just have to watch it to understand. It's like big hero 6 meets the Mitchell's vs the machines, but (unpopular opinion) is probably better than them both.

This movie has been aired on TV today and it was fun to watch! And it finally had some Slavic/Balcan representation! Grandma Donka was the best character!
This movie was pretty good, my favorite thing about it is everyone both men and women mocked each other equally, the guys weren't trashing the girls, and the girls weren't trashing the guys. I've been waiting for the guy vs girl thing to even out and this movie has done it, and gives everyone a great apearance into the world of how everyone is some what lonely.

He probably doesn't have automatic install program installed. Meaning there nothing telling him to install updates, so the user has to manually tell him. Some devices still do this.
I just watched this movie, and had to get online and share it. I hadn't seen any adverts beforehand, and I was surprised. Yes, it tackles a common theme of technology, but handles it tactfully. Ron teaches Barney how to make friends and that you don't have to fit in. Yes, that's done a lot, but usually the "quirks" these characters have are similar, when Ron is a breath of fresh air. The character development is realistic and poking fun at soulless large corporations had me laughing out loud several times. Amazing, I'll be following Locksmith closely for the future.
I've watched like most of animation movies and this one is now on my top favorite list! Everything abt it is very unique.It's been long since I watched a good one tbh. The realistic reflection of sadness thru it made the jewel out of it. Great movie, thank you!
I really loved this movie, it’s not amazing or anything but it’s just real wholesome and enjoyable. There were some pretty funny moments (and some kids humor of course) but then there were some more serious moments and stuff. Overall pretty great film (And honestly the ending made me kinda emotional lol)
For a 1st time feature length effort by a small animation studio, this film looks quite impressive. The narrative seems a bit formulaic, but the creativity and characters will probably make up for it.
This is what the Emoji Movie should've tried to be, full of subtle jabs at reality, and fun reflection of the time we live in. This is way better, I like it.

this movie was so dope and so refreshing. Plot is basic but fun twist and turns! the overall idea is so unique and cool you HAVE to watch it.
This movie is an underrated hidden gem. It's so cute and has a lot of heart with a great message. I loved it.

I really loved this movie, it’s not amazing or anything but it’s just real wholesome and enjoyable. There were some pretty funny moments (and some kids humor of course) but then there were some more serious moments and stuff. Overall pretty great film
(And honestly the ending made me kinda emotional lol)

I'm a little torn with the ending but the references to the real world about social media and tech companies are spot on!
For a 1st time feature length effort by a small animation studio, this film looks quite impressive. The narrative seems a bit formulaic, but the creativity and characters will probably make up for it.

This is what the Emoji Movie should've tried to be, full of subtle jabs at reality, and fun reflection of the time we live in. This is way better, I like it.
