Before anyone starts yelling at me, I know many builds are made by simfluencers and not EA. Most criticisms are down to the EA build restrictions and lot requirements rather than their skill x
Fun fact, the very brown build from snowy escape was made by James Turner when the lot was made out of grass. When he was done, EA changed the underground last minute to sand without giving him the opportunity to change anything. As a result, the build looks very bland.
This was a super interesting video for me seeing as how personally I have not even been in a majority of the pre-built lots. Seeing a tour of them all chronologically like this really showcases how tragic most of them are, especially in the early days. And I'm sorry, but the toilet paper rolls being that high on the wall absolutely sent me. Also, it's kind of funny, but to be so careless that you forget toilets all together?!? C'mon EA.....

Its not common to do the 'jack & jill' style bathrooms over here now though. Was more popular during the 50s.

9:51 this is a thing in some American homes. It’s called a jack and Jill bathroom! My boyfriends family home has one. Him and his brother share a bathroom in between their rooms and there is a separate half bath (only toilet and sink) for guests off their kitchen. Their jack and Jill restroom is a little unique tho, as they have their own sink/vanity/mirror in their rooms next to the bathroom door in their rooms. It is a pretty nice layout that saves space and is cool in general I think!
I love building Jack and Jill baths in the Sims 4, as it's the most efficient bathroom layout - you can cover the needs of two bedrooms with just six tiles, and include a fully functional shower/tub combo.
The snowy escape lots were built by actual Sims players, that’s back when they had their first collaboration with lil simsie and James Turner, and whoever else so that’s why they are better than the average 😂
13:25 LOOK AT IT 😂😂 Edit: that last starter lot in strangerville- you said it was giving Willow Creek. I think it's actually the same layout as streamlet single -__-
56:00 I believe the Greenburg house is the first house not designed by EA employees. It was designed by the winning team of that weird reality TV show they did. The next few packs are completely designed by more or less well known players. Like the buildings in the werewolf world were entirely built by James Turner. I don't know if they stopped this, but I haven't heard that anyone built anything in the last world.
I grew up in a house with two doors in the bathroom. One door led to the laundry room/linen closet. You mostly only used the laundry door when taking a shower or grabbing any dirty clothes from the bathroom before doing laundry. The second door was very convenient, but there were unspoken rules in place on when to use the second door
The bathroom with to connecting bedrooms is called "Jack and Jill" bathroom. I have really only seen this style in middle to upper class homes. They usually design this to connect kids rooms.
I would love to see Satch renovate the Cypress Terrace lot - I have played the sims 4 since it came out and never visited this lot but it’s sooo badly decorated😭
Bargain bend is not too big it's only 20x30 (as opposed to 30x20 which is a super common lot size), but the way the images upload to the gallery is a crime. it's tough to make it look great in game and in the gallery. I addressed this by making the house small on the far end of the lot so that people would spawn at the walk way but also the whole house could be seen in the gallery. I also made the porch diagonal, which almost works perfectly, but Now I think I should have added some trees to cover the transitioning spots. The rest of the lot I made garden/nature focused. Just saying for other people who want this to work out. Also, if you put the hashtag cornerlot and bargainbend it might help people find the right build for this difficult lot.
Please, make a video where you restore The Bluffs with the Cattle Estate kit. 😃 I think the pool should obviously stay downstairs without that vegetation (not outside, apart from possible arches), but I would move it and size it down a bit.
Sims in Oasis Springs are undergoing evolutionary change. With each generation, the offspring are adapting longer and longer arms in order to reach the toilet paper.
omg thank u satch for this long video today. Im home sick with some weird jaw-ear maybe wisdom tooth bullshit and ive run out of youtube to watch. This times absolutely perfect with my dinner thank u very much love
We call it a jack and jill bathroom and it really is a thing. Usually you have to shut and lock both doors before you do anything. It isn't what I'd prefer because of that, but it is a common thing in American houses.
Dresden House really annoys me because there's at least 1 wall with missing wallpaper, it's in the red bathroom upstairs and you can even see it at around 21:22 it's the white wall behind the toilet. Coorinberg cottage is very cozy if you gut the entire inside and renovate it because what even is that layout I hate it. I like where the outer walls are though, from just the outside it's nice. Bathe de rill is a lot I've only been on twice, it looks nice but every time I play on it my sims become miserable because there's no decorations. I've resorted to just slapping a bunch of leaves/vines on the walls to make it count as decorated. Harbour quarter gym is good if you add a door up top so your sim doesn't take hours walking underground to enter the gym. If I remember right it has a similar issue as Bathe de rill in the downstairs corridor/bathroom area where it just counts as poorly decorated and my sims get upset. I always add a door upstairs now though so I very rarely have to actually go downstairs.
Not an American just used to be a huge Interior Design fan but the two door bathrooms are called Jack and Jill bathrooms. They're not uncommon from what I've seen. Definitely rarely ever see them in England, if ever tho
Those two Brindleton Bay lots are horrid to me because they’re literally just in the middle of nowhere surrounded by trees… like zero connection to the street. It just makes the lot look cut off
Thank you for educating me on Rose, very interesting thread indeed! 😂 Btw are you planning to react to a new trailer to Expanded Plant Sims? Looks phenomenal and I think you'd enjoy it x
Oh yes, the Jack and Jill bathroom. Plenty of people have already mentioned it. I'll just add it's in the Brady bunch where they show you the Jack and Jill bathroom. I'm not a fan of those myself. It is quite awkward. Like it wouldn't be too bad if it was like separate rooms like you share the vanity space. But you have a separate toilet room and a separate shower/bathroom. * I also think it would be nice for like a master suite. Like if you had a split bedrooms 'master' and 'misteress' rooms. * I'm using it antiquated terms but I think it suits it for what I'm describing. It would be two bedrooms but it would be a master suite. Talking about bougie. The one bedroom could either be a bedroom and the other one could be like an office space, or if you don't like sleeping with your partner because they snore they could have their own separate bedroom.
I like big lots, because I always go for building up a multi-skilled sim and I want to use every inch of the large property as possible to give him/her access to any skill and/or hobby item. What I do not understand is why most simmers most often not think about using bill discount build menu items for most lots; because I hear that they complain that their sim is running out of more Simoleans than their sim could make and they don't seem to realize that there are budget friendly wall, floor, and roof designs among a sea of pricy items? I also don't understand why there is not much lot creations that have environmentally healthy builds for sims either in the gallery?
This video really brought home the fact that I have not been in 95% of the lots despite how many packs I own. Literally, I have bought packs and not even played in them at all. LOL The problem is that the Sims 4 is so boring that I spend more time building in Newcrest than playing. I played the Sims 2 and Sims 3 way more. I even started creating my own Sim challenge years ago, but I got so bored and keeping up with buying broken packs made me want to scream, so that kinda went by the wayside. That said, I am inspired to maybe go in an update each and every lot; you know, just freshen them up a bit. I've done that with several homes as I have played and fixed a few lackluster community lots and put them on the gallery, but that was just out of pure frustration. The situation being basically that I arrived at some lots and found them so horrendous that I had to fix them before I even let my Sim hang out there! Hours later, I would load them on the gallery and then shut down the game from exhaustion. Can anyone else relate? 😄
The 2 bedrooms attached to one bathroom thing is something that I feel like comes from the hotel industry. In my experience if parents ask for an attached room for kids, the extra room will be attached through the bathroom.
This was nice and surprising you made it into a long video and didn't break it into several videos. I could have seen this being maybe two neighborhoods per videos or something. Thanks for the content!!
For Mt Komorebi something seems a bit off cause when you showed how many lots got each rating the numbers added to 25 but there are only 14. I think i saw something similar with Windenburg and maybe a few other worlds im not so sure
Yes, it is normal to have two doors connected to the entrance to the bathroom different sides. Usually when you have to use the bathroom you’re going and you will lock the other door while you’re inside to make sure nobody actually enters so you would have to lock both sides of the door
a bathroom with two doors is like a jack and jill thing and just lock the door so no one can open it. It tends to be in between kids bedrooms for them to share.
The concept of a bathroom with doors on both sides leading in from bedrooms is called a Jack and Jill bathroom. Neither room truly has an ensuite, but both bedrooms still have direct access to a bathroom. Obviously, when you go in there, you would have to lock the other doors so that the other person doesn't walk in on you. LOL
10:03 those are called Jack and Jill bathrooms, the one I had in my childhood home had a separate room with the toilet and tub. Typically there are locks on the doors to prevent embarrassing moments.
The bathroom with two doors is called a jack and Jill to be shared between the bedrooms. The house I’m in right now actually has one and the toilet/bath/shower is behind another door so if someone was brushing their teeth for example, the other can use the restroom with privacy lol. It’s typically with the rooms that would most likely be used as kids bedrooms and only for those rooms to use. On the other hand the master bedroom in our home has no door going into the bathroom/closet area and I think that’s so weird. The toilet has its own door, shower is behind a wall so not in plain view when you’re in the room but the bathtub is in the back facing the bedroom with a clear view 😂
Cottage Am See sounds that strange because it is german. Am See kinda means next to the lake. I love the Bargain Bend, i use it when i want my sim to stay in Willow Creek. I just buid a very little house and when my sim starts to make money i expand the house more and more. It is big enough for a big family home and still have enough space for a garden, for a pool and some things for the kids. I started with the Sims4 and got bored like instant because of the interior of all the houses, but luckily a friend of mine told me about mods and well, now i have tons of mods and when a sim moves into a existing house i always redo the inside. And the outside. And more often than not the layout of the house too.....

Not really sharing a bathroom is a crime and no human should experience that
@@theshadowking3198 A crime?? That's extreme.
@@theshadowking3198 Not everyone is wealthy enough or resides in places there is enough room for such ridiculousness.
The snowy escape lots were built by actual Sims players, that’s back when they had their first collaboration with lil simsie and James Turner, and whoever else so that’s why they are better than the average 😂
13:25 LOOK AT IT 😂😂
Edit: that last starter lot in strangerville- you said it was giving Willow Creek. I think it's actually the same layout as streamlet single -__-

I believe the Greenburg house is the first house not designed by EA employees. It was designed by the winning team of that weird reality TV show they did. The next few packs are completely designed by more or less well known players. Like the buildings in the werewolf world were entirely built by James Turner. I don't know if they stopped this, but I haven't heard that anyone built anything in the last world.
I don't think any simmers did the builds for Tomarang, but the ones from Ciudad Enamorada were done by Fritosaurio, RusticSims and Shikiuv.
My fave thing about the outdoor windenburg places is that if you have seasons, everything is destroyed and you can't replace them in game 😂😂😪😪
Satch calling all the purgolas pavlovas is sending me 😂
Love you Satch❤
Excuse me I am so early but HOW DID YOU HAVE THE PATIENCE FOR THIIIIS!?
I was laughing so bad. See you dad town😂 imagine going inside of the motel there and meeting your dad
I survived SatchOnSims ranking every lot in the Sims 4!
Underrated video idea
omg thank u satch for this long video today. Im home sick with some weird jaw-ear maybe wisdom tooth bullshit and ive run out of youtube to watch. This times absolutely perfect with my dinner thank u very much love
I'm in the exact same situation, it's so painful!
@@katrinaninanina oh god bless, i hope it gets better soon! Mine did but i still have ear problems. All luck to you
The plane bunker is excellent until you try to play it and realize that EA put the plant in the wrong place so sims can’t cook.
Btw are you planning to react to a new trailer to Expanded Plant Sims?
I also don't understand why there is not much lot creations that have environmentally healthy builds for sims either in the gallery?
you forgot about vacations worlds😛
Holy cow, Satch! This EPIC!!!! luv ya.
I love that in dorms with no kitchen food spawn in TOILETS😂
With some other worlds the numbers you showed at the end were off with just like one. This is not hate i am just telling you so you know about it
Yes, it is normal to have two doors connected to the entrance to the bathroom different sides. Usually when you have to use the bathroom you’re going and you will lock the other door while you’re inside to make sure nobody actually enters so you would have to lock both sides of the door
I don't have all the DLC in the game, but San Seqoia is boring AF.
a bathroom with two doors is like a jack and jill thing and just lock the door so no one can open it.
LOL
Your British accent and humour is delightful to listen to!
10:03 those are called Jack and Jill bathrooms, the one I had in my childhood home had a separate room with the toilet and tub. Typically there are locks on the doors to prevent embarrassing moments.
The snowy escape houses were also done by RUclips simmers 😂
Im sick and my body feels like its dying whenever i laugh but this was worth it 😂
Cottage Am See sounds that strange because it is german.
