MJ was someone that BTS really looked up to! You will see his influence in many of their dances. JK absolutely loves MJ moves! Me too! They also were influenced by Usher. They have been in the industry since 2013 and have around 400 songs - and that's just the BTS stuff, not their solo efforts. But fear not - you could literally pick ANY song in the discography and you won't be disappointed. Yes, they're that good. Kpop is a whole package - vocals, choreography, visuals, production. BTS started as a hip hop group, but now cover many genres of music, including rap, pop, latin pop, edm, hip hop and much more. A lot of their best music is in Korean, so just put your subtitles on as the lyrics are very meaningful. They write, compose and produce their own music and write about social issues like mental health, social anxiety, societal expectations on young people and self love. The group is made up of 3 rappers and 4 vocalists, all extremely talented and experienced, with rappers starting in the underground scene, dancers in street/contemporary dance, but from early ages. Basically, most of them started in their musical endeavours at young ages, as they are now all late 20s to early 30s. They are all undertaking mandatory military service in South Korea at the moment (apart from Jin and J Hope, who have just been discharged). They undertook solo projects just before they enlisted, but will be back together as a group mid 2025, when they all have finished military. BTS have always had solo projects and it doesn’t mean they disbanded, but it is just a way to enable the individual members to express their own individuality and style, so when they are a group, they are still bringing this together as a whole. BTS have global fandom, called Army, with approximately 100 million people of all ages as fans across the world, most definitely not just young girls as is often assumed as the stereotype. Ages range from 20s to 70s+ for both men and women, because they are not a boy band that is just writing about love. In fact, if they write about love, it is usually multi layered and is not about romantic relationships, but self love etc. The BTS message is positivity and self love. They sell out stadiums globally as the biggest group in the world currently (not just the biggest Korean group). If you want to really see how diverse and talented they are, you need to watch/listen to their korean songs. They made 3 english songs during the pandemic to cheer people up (and some of the solo music for the members is in english), but the korean ones are amazing and I prefer them. They are also known for their dancing, as they have a lot of complex and difficult choreography, which adds to the spectacular MVs and live performances. Live performances to start: Festa 2021, Tiny Desk, MMA 2019, Proof Live 2022. Rap line songs to start: Ugh, Outro Series, Cypher series, Born Singer, Baepsae (Silver Spoon). Vocal Line songs: House of Cards, The Truth Untold. There are also a lot of videos of their dance practices if you like the choreography. Just look up Bangtan TV you tube site and there is a playlist. To learn more about their backgrounds and a bit of their personalities and of course their names, it is really worth watching an introduction video. The Bangtan 7 by Taylor Mairi has the best summary and snapshot into them as a group and individuals, in my opinion. There is a longer video by Purple Snow, which is also very good and more up to date, but is over 2 hours long. Army will watch either with you as we like seeing new reactions to BTS. He is still in BTS they've always had solo work but mainly the Rappers however they all worked very hard doing their solo and some group items before starting their military duties. All that extra work is being released for them by their company while they complete their military duties.

Jung kook is the main singer of BTS , but every member has got a unique style and every member made one or more solo projects before they enlisted, Seok-jin is the only one doing after, his Happy CD just comes out! They don‘t disband, they are just showing in their solo projects their favourite music style. Jungkook as the youngest has really a beautiful voice and so smooth dance moves and all are Live even better, so rare these days. His album Golden is such a masterpiece, every song a banger and sorry for not being sorry he doesn‘t need Usher or Timberlake and so on, he is doing great on his own!

So, no, Jungkook came over here to the USA and worked some Grammy winning producers and songwriters. He is the youngest of the 7 member group, and the main vocalist and a lead dancer. All of the BTS members will be reunited as a group when they all complete their mandatory military service in June 2025. Before they enlisted, they had prepared solo projects. They debuted in 2013 (together since 2010 pre-debut) so their discography is MASSIVE: group projects, unit projects, collaborations, solo projects etc...to say the least. Their connection/brotherhood is absolutely beautiful. 7 members total (3 rappers & 4 vocalists). Jin & JHope have recently completed their mandatory military service while the remaining 5 members are currently serving. But fear not - you could literally pick ANY song in the discography and you won't be disappointed. Yes, they're that good. Kpop is a whole package - vocals, choreography, visuals, production. Their production levels are INSANE! They also are very diversified and do many styles and do them all well. Have fun in the rabbit hole!!!
Jungkook is still part of BTS - they have not disbanded. BTS began in 2013, so there is a massive back catalogue of music for you to explore. BTS started as a hip hop group, but now cover many genres of music, including rap, pop, latin pop, edm, hip hop and much more. A lot of their best music is in Korean, so just put your subtitles on as the lyrics are very meaningful. They write, compose and produce their own music and write about social issues like mental health, social anxiety, societal expectations on young people and self love.
The group is made up of 3 rappers and 4 vocalists, all extremely talented and experienced, with rappers starting in the underground scene, dancers in street/contemporary dance, but from early ages. Basically, most of them started in their musical endeavours at young ages, as they are now all late 20s to early 30s. They are all undertaking mandatory military service in South Korea at the moment (apart from Jin and J Hope, who have just been discharged). They undertook solo projects just before they enlisted, but will be back together as a group mid 2025, when they all have finished military. BTS have always had solo projects and it doesn’t mean they disbanded, but it is just a way to enable the individual members to express their own individuality and style, so when they are a group, they are still bringing this together as a whole.
BTS have global fandom, called Army, with approximately 100 million people of all ages as fans across the world, most definitely not just young girls as is often assumed as the stereotype. Ages range from 20s to 70s+ for both men and women, because they are not a boy band that is just writing about love. In fact, if they write about love, it is usually multi layered and is not about romantic relationships, but self love etc. The BTS message is positivity and self love.
They sell out stadiums globally as the biggest group in the world currently (not just the biggest Korean group). If you want to really see how diverse and talented they are, you need to watch/listen to their korean songs. They made 3 english songs during the pandemic to cheer people up (and some of the solo music for the members is in english), but the korean ones are amazing and I prefer them. They are also known for their dancing, as they have a lot of complex and difficult choreography, which adds to the spectacular MVs and live performances.

To learn more about their backgrounds and a bit of their personalities and of course their names, it is really worth watching an introduction video. The Bangtan 7 by Taylor Mairi has the best summary and snapshot into them as a group and individuals, in my opinion. There is a longer video by Purple Snow, which is also very good and more up to date, but is over 2 hours long. Army will watch either with you as we like seeing new reactions to BTS.

Check out the Standing Next To You remix featuring Usher. Usher heard the song, loved it and asked to be on the remix. Usher performed it at the Super Bowl. Jungkook couldn't be there because he is currently fulfilling his mandatory Korean military service.

BTS is still a group, most of them are in the military now, it's why they (as a group) went on a hiatus. Once all of them are back out in 2025, BTS will be back. But in the meantime, they have focused on solo stuff.

Jung kook is the main singer of BTS , but every member has got a unique style and every member made one or more solo projects before they enlisted, Seok-jin is the only one doing after, his Happy CD just comes out! They don‘t disband, they are just showing in their solo projects their favourite music style. Jungkook as the youngest has really a beautiful voice and so smooth dance moves and all are Live even better, so rare these days. His album Golden is such a masterpiece, every song a banger and sorry for not being sorry he doesn‘t need Usher or Timberlake and so on, he is doing great on his own!

They debuted in 2013 (together since 2010 pre-debut) so their discography is MASSIVE: group projects, unit projects, collaborations, solo projects etc...to say the least. Their connection/brotherhood is absolutely beautiful. 7 members total (3 rappers & 4 vocalists). Jin & JHope have recently completed their mandatory military service while the remaining 5 members are currently serving. There's so much about them...they've been to the White House btw...welcome to BTS x ARMY global family. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
