They expect her to always be there to save them with her "Innate goodness." But, what's really funny, is that Adam and Eddie have made it extremely clear in the show that each person is capable of screwing up, or being redeemed. That they are in fact, only human, and as Snow and Charming graciously demonstrated for us this past season, even those people we hold on a pedestal can easily fall from grace. Regina has demonstrated the opposite, that even those society don't think can be, or just dont want to try to save, can.

This song works so well for this show. A lot of these characters are very powerful and clever and cool, but underneath all of that they’re all still human. They fall apart, they hurt, they’re broken...I think this works best for Regina but it does work for all of them. Even Peter Pan. He was very powerful and evil but he still was just human (no matter what Hook says about him) he still could die, he still could feel pain, he still could feel regret. I think his most human moment is when he gets killed by Rumple. He gets killed, he feels betrayed which is what everyone feels at least once in their life. This song is so beautiful and it works so well for everyone in this show but I still think that works the best for Regina.
