You can combo only one R1 out of the WA R2. WA R1 into the shield slap R1 is not a true combo. I like to do WA R2 -> R1 -> R2 for a 400-500 damage combo off the chance they get stabbed in their v-frames. Wouldn't recommend using the WA R2 on any ultra weapons tho, maybe with a full stamina bar.
I would replace the life ring with prisoners chain because who doesn't like 15 free levels. And the hit to defense is not that bad, if almost negligible.
Nuclear Eagle Absorption in general is just bad. I tested damage going completely nude vs 20% absorption vs negative absorption values against Crypt Skeletons and the damage difference wasn't even worth freaking out over. Put that chain on people. show your love for Papa Gundyr

The only great-sword based weapon that can parry 5 . It's the fact that it has all of these IN ONE WEAPON. It is the only weapon that actually contains a WA one one of three possibilities in the soul series. Including blood borne ( I believe )...... and to top it off this weapon can be buffed!!!
Would it be possible to do a supporty-paladin build with this weapon? Id be sacrificing some damage, but 15-20 str/40 dex/30 faith with the rest being pumped into endurance and vigor might be fine. Could use a ring for attunement and miracle boosting, cloranthy for endurance, and maybe havels for wearing heavier armor
Wow that almost looks like what I came up with. I use everything but the cheastplate, I know that it is low armor but it looks cooler but if you equip the desert pyromancher top you look like an gladiator.
Malcolm Roy Bring back the poise from ds 1 along with the op rings from it. 2 ring slots only. Chloranthy ring 50% stamina regen. ROFP 30% increase health stamina equip. Good times
the way i use this weapon is with exclusively the valorheart and as heavy of armor as i can get away with without heavy rolling. use r1 weapon art, then stunlock with r1 spam. they are DONE if you can do that.
It's a fun weapon to play with, and really fun to play against. Unfortunately the knight slayers ring makes using this weapon and trading hits useless. Guard breaks all day.
The editing could be more refined in my opinion. For instance the bows could be strewn together in such a way that when you bow, the camera is faced forward through the edit, and the bow seamlessly flows into the next clip, like what Doom did with their trailer. The outro could also potentially refined by cutting just a bit more off the end. It looks clunky when you go back into stance and the video just ends. Perhaps right at the climax of the weapon art? These are just my thoughts, I still enjoy the videos, but the cutting and editing could be done better.
Moose Torrent You can make wonderful things with the basic tools that you're given. I think Windows Movie Maker could help you, if your software has it (for some reason I think Microsoft is like, erasing Windows Movie Maker? No idea, but it's annoying). Anyways, I just thought I'd give a few things to take into consideration from the perspective of a viewer. I don't intend to stop watching your videos even if they do end up crudely cut or poorly edited (they're not, btw, just not the prettiest transitions)
No bias here, but the parry luck is strong in this one. The number of well-timed parries you went through in this video was insane. Is it the weapon or what?
Trusty Patches its also because of the medium shields having less active frames and if you're referring to the parrying dagger attempt you can't parry jumping attacks at all.
Why would you Valorheart in PvE if you just said you have Longsword? Isn't the whole point of Valorheart is that the hyper armor/block allows it to be as fast and versatile as an SS, while abusing of hyper armor by trading of damage?
The Valorheart combo is r1>r1>r2>jumping r2. Will one shot a lot of people, the first r2 is not part of a true combo but will roll catch just about anyone. Too bad you never did it, you were starting to pick up on it when you tried r1>r1>jumping r2.

If you know how to use valorheart, you're almost unstoppable. Easily one of the best and most underrated weapons in the game.
A skilled player will run right through that weapon.
Especially since it covers 3 out of 4 physical damage types, and no other weapon can say the same.
high stamina, defense, and health pool is key to getting good with the valorheart.

You move a direction and do the heavy attack at the same time. For example on PS4 you hit up on the left stick and hit R2 at the same time.

It's a bad ass looking weapon, but it doesn't do enough damage to overthrow my normal Refined long sword. It's ok in PvP but I mainly use it for PvE.

Spider Shield, Stone Shield and the Curse Ward are all good contenders for the Roman shield.
