      There will be less hysteria if the CCP were more upfront with their numbers. They update cured numbers regularly during the day but they keep the death reports back for Beijing publish. Their online reports lean to the positive mostly, there is a clear reluctance to share negative facts which may help....sounds a lot like Chernobyl

      The AIDS hysteria didn't help at all.
      And no. People weren't concerned about sexual health when it first broke out.
      In fact, it was as stupid as the reaction of most people.
      Why??
      Because those who did contract AIDS especially those who got it from non-sexual contact i.e. those through blood transfusion are ostracized real bad by the general public. Just look ay Ryan White.
      Plus you also had the blind hate towards gay people who were thought to be the cause and the ones spreading the virus.
      Any form of hysteria is just stupid and unnecessary no matter how much you spin it because people in general are too stupid to know better.

    Thank you so much for this video.. I was the person who commented about a 50/50% death rate based on the infected/cured in the last video.. I did not keep in mind that the recovery takes longer + the fact that many people who has the virus might not even seek help since their symptoms are mild.. this is great!

      @@alexanderbrandt9816 I think you do not realize how each block / appartment building has an assigned person to check on and control the other citizans. In non-epidemic times this is a way to control the population of a nation under an hybrid communist-capitalistic dictatorship. In these lock down times in Wuhan this is a great way to monitor people getting sick at their homes. I admit that in our society (I live in Europe - not New York - but let's consider that's the same in this case), elderly and/or isolated people would not be picked up in any way. And that the number / rate of dead people at home could be (more) significant than we might think is going on now in China. This is not to say we need a secret police officer in every block, but they do come in handy in times like this :-)

      Don't worry dude cuz there are way more cases than the confirmed because most of the suspected ones are true and anyways the CCP is known for lying so most probably the cases are triple the no. And yet the deaths will remain somewhere close to where it's at in reality. So basically that means that the mortality rate might even be in the mere 1%. So don't worry and take proper precaution.

    • @funkychicken2119
      @funkychicken2119 4 года назад +3

      We will NEVER know the mortality rate as most of the dead have already been incinerated. The closest we can get to any hard data is when this thing goes away (3 months from now, 6 months from now, 1 year from now) or gets “under control” and we do a body count. But even then, it’s a skewed figure since bodies have been incinerated and no one know how many that is or even the cause of death.
      I really hope this gets under control soon because the poor people in Wuhan at this point must be going crazy if not dead stuck in their homes. I can’t imagine if people in your apt Building are dead and the smell of decomp is everywhere even with the windows open. 🤢😢

      With all things considered though, that is still waaayy too low to actually cause any major concern or hysteria. Plus you also have the fact that it's just relegated to China and the affected areas which is understandable since they have a billion worth of people in that spec of land.
      Of course the numbers can reach that high but when things are considered in as well, it is still way too low. Regular pneumonia caused by the other common coronaviruses are just as potent and transmissable as this. The only difference is that most people have already developed an immunity to it due to years of exposure and the immunity being passed down through the generations.
      But you already know the media and people in general. Any number is big for them since people are too lazy and stupid to do any research or understand the numbers.

    I believe the mortality rate will rise if the number of infected rises high enough. EXAMPLE: With 1000 infected and 30 die you get 3% mortality. That is with hospital intervention on the worst cases, respirators, fluids, food. Many stay at home and don't go to the hospital, they may not be as sick or don't have access, but most still have a warm bed, someone to bring them food and water. Once they get 1,000,000 or more infected, they won't be able to go to the hospital to get treatment. It may even begin to affect food distribution and other things. At home even if the stores have food, they wouldn't have anyone to bring them food and water if everybody is infected. They won't be able to stay in bed. They will have to get up and cook, go out and buy groceries, assuming food is available. All this will increase the mortality rate.

Remember...you will either Recover or Die

    • @laremi3577
      @laremi3577 4 года назад +1

      Exactly and both of them had started the illness about at the same time, this way of calculation is the only logical one. All others 16,000 are still fighting, we have to wait for them and count only the way their fight will end: being cured or being dead. It's too soon to count them for the mortality rate.

    • @Arthillis
      @Arthillis 4 года назад

      The problem is we dont know how many are truly infected or truly dead. The death toll could be higher if they aren't reporting it correctly, also there could be cases that people died at home without going to the hospital. Also the number of infected is very likely MUCH higher. For instance if im sick I only go to the hospital if its serious. So the cases that aren't serious enough to warrant a hospital visit aren't being reported. That number is likely much much higher. So in that sense the odds of death are likely much lower. There are just too many unknowns because we cant trust china's government. Also I have to wonder if the death rate would be much lower if this had happened in a nation with a really good health care system in place.

    Im glad to see you are now incorporating or at least acknowledging without credit, the idea I sent you via email and post on a previous video, of the time lag and why you can't calculate death rates based on number of cases vs number of deaths in an evolving situation. Since those who contract the virus today are calculated in the total even though they haven't had a chance to die yet. I think the Lancet article is closer to acknowledging this with its 15% death rate. But as you pointed out it is such a small sample size.
