Brian Kelly I appreciated & like what you’re doing, however you spend too much time explaining & elaborating on each chord. You already showing the chords by hand & diagram. You go over them twice or thrice & that’s enough then move on. This will expedite time & most of us will get it alright, otherwise you’re a fantastic teacher with a good heart bro.

If you want to see them play it live do a youtube search for Hotel California Live 1976. The photo that comes up has Don Felder with a double neck SG and Joe Walsh wearing a Dew rag playing a Telecaster. The main part of the intro that I hear is the 12 String SG with a Capo. Thanks you did a great job. I appreciate your hard work.

Thing about playing chords I never had anyone else to play with and to play a song you have to have structure and rythm . I eventually through the years have set in with bands ect. I started lead probably few years ago and enjoy being able to jam a little. Seems nobody respects the rythm players anymore. Use to be life of party now people expect people to play the toughest things. It's taught me when to come in and hit the notes. Without it it's trash so don't kick it. I came her to see how close I was and I only missed well was in wrong place same octives this made it easier. I hate tab I don't fully understand it.

You’ve done a real nice job with this. I’ve watched a fair amount of lessons on this and most are just the solo or their of how they played in the studio (so the capo for the intro etc) and don’t really focus on how to actually play the tune live in a band. SUUUUPER helpful and well done.
I’ve not come across your videos before but will be sure to check out more. 🙏

first...thanks so much for this video. I've been I have a job and family so it's taken me a while to get through it...I'm now pretty comfortable up until joe walsh starts his solo....I'm wondering though, what would you think is the best way to learn the solo. Part of me wants to memorize the whole thing so I can then just keep working on it with a metronome and and gradually increase the speed so I can play along at the actual speed. I can obviously just try to "master" each section before moving on...not sure what's the best path.

Thank you so much for the time and effort you have put into learning and making this video. This is defiantly the best and most complete tutorial I have ever seen. especially for such a difficult song. I don't think I will ever be able to remember all of the parts but I do thank you for such a in creditable video. you are a great teacher and I have been playing for 50 years now. We did not have You Tube back then so learning songs was much harder. Glen Frey was my first guitar teacher in 1964 he was seventeen. He was a great song writer even then. It is very sad we have lost him now.
Thanks again and keep these videos coming. I would like to see you do some country stuff, that is what I play now.

At 1:11.28 you say you never get the release note right. It may be easier when you bend the E string 17 to 19 let your finger also bend the B string up at the same time, then you can release it without string hopping.

when you strum (?) the F#7 chord does not sound as it is in the chart in the upper right. since in the chart the pinky finger is the 1st string in the 9th fret.
kind of confusing. maybe i`m wrong idk.

i really dont understand the guy who ask for shutting up and the tab, the video conveys the concept which a gtp file cant give you, if u want the tab only why not google hotel california gtp ?! BTW thanks Brian Kelly for your tutorial, what you have done is exactly made people understand the song rather than feeding them with tab
