    I believe that the Senators should still be chosen by the State and that to do otherwise is to give to much power to the People and not enough to the State.

      The people are "the state." All elected officials of the state only act in behalf of the citizens. This is the definition of our form of government, a representative republic-not democracy.

      ​@@burg3g The two houses were to be as the House of Commons and House of Lords; with the Representatives voted in by the citizens and the Senators chosen by the state legislature. This was done to offset the fear of the States legislature that they would be over turned in the federal government it was changed to voting for them later.

    The power to choose US Senators should be given back to the state legislatures, as it is essential that equal representation of the States in the Senate should be maintained. But when it comes to impeachment trials, there must be a convention that the Senate has to follow and that is impartiality: to do what the Constitution or the law requires them to do.

    Abortion & Senator election should go back to the Individual States And What We see with the Border South west Border States should have the right to protect their citizens..
