I see the Plymouth Voyager III was inspiration for the production of the Chevy Lumina/Pontiac Trans Porter/Oldsmobile Silhouette vans of the early 90s. A lot of design cues were borrowed, particularly in the rear. It's funny when the car detaches from the rest of the cab, it looks a lot like a Smart Car. I also see that the Dodge Daytona R/T Concept was the inspiration for the Dodge Stealth R/T/Mitsubishi 3000GT that would be coming just a year later. And lastly, who could forget the "Cab Forward" design language that would actually make production like the host said by 1992. The Dodge Intrepid/Chrysler Concorde/Chrysler New Yorker/Eagle Vision would be the recipients for this new design language that would last all through the rest of the 90s into the early 2000s.

I wonder if the concept of a Voyager III would have better chances today with the market wanting larger sized vehicles and the increase usage of vehicles for long distance recreational purposes. The cargo area could be left stored in a regular garage, which is a big issue for homes today that have little space. Of course, the design would require looking more like an SUV and not mini van to have any success.

The partition created by the "car"'s rear window would be a problem for families. It's two completely separate compartments, and I can imagine the problems that would ensue if there was no way for parents to intervene when the kids get into a fight in the back.

The Eagle Optima is really stunning. If Chrysler was serious about making Eagle a true premium car compliment to Jeep, they would have done well to invest in getting it to production largely unchanged, instead of merely selling a twin of the other LH cars at Jeep/Eagle dealers.
