    Your painting turned out gorgeous, and I absolutely loved watching your process! So incredibly helpful. PS regarding your difficulty drawing trees, as you have said, I recommend cutting down all trees, and then there will be no more difficulty painting them, for anyone.

      Thank you! I have not tried them very seriously. I have a bunch sitting in a drawer somewhere... 😛

    Yeah, don't use a fan brush. You just need to figure it out. I use a different brush for any one tree. But I use acrylics, so I do it differently, I suppose. I LOVE to paint or draw trees. Probably because I used to (a million years ago), climb them. Anyway, I look at how the light hits them, especially the ends. Painting the dark first, and then light after that, to get the highlights. My husband and I went to Oregon coast in 2018, and it was magical! Hope you get some good paintings!

    The easiest way for me to decide where to paint is to determine whether the view I see will fit well on one of my canvases. Its surprising how often i find views that don't fit, so it's a good way to reduce the indecision.

      Yes, I toned it. It’s nice to have a middle value on there to start instead of stark white.

    That's so odd. I find portraits to be more difficult for me than Landscapes. I can do a portrait, but to capture the emotion, essence, spirit of the person; to make them apart to be alive and living their best life, I find very difficult.
