    When I was a little girl (I am an old lady of 74) I prayed each night for “for the war to stop” ....it was the Korean “conflict”. Last night I watched Nell playing music on the street. I watched all-you happy free people living your lives, and I remembered those little girl prayers. I was so very grateful 🙏 that your and our soldiers fought and sadly died, but kept a nation of people (or half a nation!) from living under tyranny and hardship.

    This guy has a LOT of potential. I hear a lot of effortless technique, very sensitive phrasing with good rubato, and an enormous breadth of sheer power. In the beginning he seemed a bit nervous so I can't imagine what he'd do in a room alone. It might be rather staggering. Its rather laughable calling this busking seeing that 99% of piano buskers are utterly talentless and would be decimated in any competition.
    Another huge strength he has is how he plays with the rhythm while playing with the phrasing, as if he's winking at you mischievously at about 6:35. He seems to be dipping his toes in the water in this area - I hope he experiments far more with this kind of playing. Its sorely needed in many areas of classical music.

    I have heard many people play this Rhapsody, but I don't think I have ever heard anyone play it that crisply, you could hear every note. Most of the time there is a lot of slurring over them but you could hear every note. It was really, really good.

    It’s nice to see some cultures where the younger generations can really appreciate what it takes to play a piece like this and enjoy it. In the states as soon as the kids realize Jerry isn’t in the piano they are gone back to their video games.

    • @joeyboy676
      @joeyboy676 2 года назад +3

      @@Minerva235 I’m sure there are other kids like you too. There are always exceptions to everything. I was just commenting in general. If my kids spent even half the amount of time they spend on computer games on a musical instrument, they would be an incredible musician. So it’s nice to see someone your age have that interest and appreciation. Make sure to keep it up. The older you get life becomes very busy, especially at the college level, so don’t ever quit. When I have my older friends over the night always ends with me playing piano for them and EVERY single one of them wishes they had learned something when they were younger.
