This is not about insane engineering. This is an episode of "how it's made" without technical insights.

The precision in the landing gear components is remarkable. Both they and the tires still require human hands and skill.

There's as much (if not more) engineering in the landing gears as there is in the entire aircraft.

And all those separate areas of research: chemicals, materials, liquids, temperatures, design structure, etc, etc, and they all combined to add up to a magnificent machine as this!! I sometimes think, imagine looking onto a big empty field. Then to look at that field with a massive aircraft on it! And all that has had to occur for that thing to be there! And I can not contain it and understand it all with my little brain...but some humans comprehend it all!! etc, etc...

The maintenance of modern aircrafts is very demanding and complex. But it is an essential part of keeping the aircraft operating safely. The cost of maintaining an aircraft adds significantly more cost than just the initial purchase price, but it is necessary. The tires alone require a lot of maintenance. The landing gear, the jet engines, avionics, communications, ... all require maintenance and repair. It is absolutely amazing. The men and women who keep aircrafts operating optimally are high skilled technicians. The number of jobs this industry alone creates is significant and demonstrate why truly industrialized societies have a higher standard of living than developing and pre-industrialized countries. Societies that are truly industrialized create more jobs that do not exist in less-developed countries. This is why policies like the UK leaving the EU makes no sense. Brexit reduce the UK's ability to engage in trade with its. European neighbors. The decline of England's industrial manufacturing capability is pre-dominantly self-induced by its own people voting for policies like Brexit, and its political leaders pandering to the public's misguided dogma. Democracy only works when the best options are chosen. Democracy alone does not ensure success.
