Great video thank you. Got a BRAND new housing and that crappy seal. Have had it off twice. Going to try the other seal or im going to use sealant cause I'm frustrated at this point. Very simple procedure
my 7.3 i just discovered had two seals one around the outside flange in the groove around where the thermostat sits then above under the housing flange...is this normal or do i just need the one around the thermostat ?
I like this guy, he seems pretty genuine about what he says. I have a 7.3powerstroke, I am a firm believer in changing your coolant & radiator cap annually. The coolant lubricates the water pump, it will lose its potency just like anything else & your water pump will suffer. Don't be lazy with changing your fluids or it will cost you way more in the long run
You hit it on the nose! I had the thermostat leak on my original pump. So i ordered a new thermostat housing, thermostat and the seal. I didn't feel comfortable with the new seal because it looked a lot like my original one that was leaking. It only sat on the top of the thermostat. I went to Ford and bought an original thermostat. Then i realized the seal was different. That was the problem. The new thermostat cost me $56 at Ford. Ouch. But it works and doesn't leak.

That's right everything expands and contracts. Good points you made. Thanks.
