- While a main mission of a District Attorney’s Office is prosecuting criminals, we do so much more to achieve justice. Please watch this short video to learn more about what the Riverside County District Attorney's Office does. For more information on our office, please visit our website: www.rivcoda.org
You certainly do hold the power to give people second chances but I’ve never seen anyone use that power to make a positive change in anyone’s life, criminal or victim.
Your understanding of the DA office and the process is very clear.
The DA does a great job of protecting and supporting victims of crime. Only charges that can be proved beyond a reasonable doubt are pursued, and only a judge and jury can (THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE) that ultimately determine the punishment for the offenders and the harm that they've cause to individuals or the community.
If somebody beats you up, who is going to bring you justice? If somebody killed a family member, wouldnt you want that violent person to be held accountable - and show them the damage they've cause people or the community.
You're lucky if you havent been a victim of crime, but if that ever happens, you'll want somebody to be there to defend your life and rights.
Who is the illustrator? They're incredible!

You're not wrong tho
San Diego District Attorney's Office hired the illustrator for this video.

Need clarification how especially in common law can a third party who isn't the injured party bring or pick up charges where they have no personal conflict
so are they lawyers but work for the goverment ?
Our attorneys are county employees.
What are the Special Courts mentioned?
There are various collaborative courts we work closely with including Mental Health Court, Veterans Court, and Drug Court.
I have a question. I always see on the court shows or actual events (OJ Simpson trial for example) where the DA is fighting their ass off to win the case. My question is, if the DA of the case loses does he or she still get paid. If so, what do they really care whether or not the person or persons get innocent or guilty? I can understand with a defense attorney needing desperately to win because they may not get paid by their client for a losing verdict. But if a DA gets paid by the state either way then why even bother fighting the case?
District Attorneys, as well as their deputies, are county employees with salaries. They do not receive any incentive pay depending on the verdict of a case. It should also be pointed out that the District Attorney (D.A.) is an elected position. Deputy District Attorneys that try cases in the courtroom, work their cases according to the evidence, testimonies, and proven facts available to them to maintain their transparent efforts to seek and fight for truth and justice. That being said, our prosecutors must be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant is truly guilty to a judge and jury. As far as “why bother,” depends on the individual a community chooses to elect. We can guarantee you that our current D.A., Michael A. Hestrin, does the job to the best of his ability because he legitimately cares about the community and wants to ensure safety for everyone in it, regardless of their race, gender, creed, or political alliance. That’s what we believe a community should look for when electing their D.A.; someone with a good track record of doing the right thing, seeking truth and justice, and doing it well. That’s also why we’re proud to have Mike as our current D.A.
Their main job is to help exonerate murdering PIGS. Hope your entire office catches on fire when you forget to put out your joint, piece of trash.
And i ve never had a piblic defendet
How do you explain the atlanta DA decision on the charges against the police officers who shot Ray hard Brooks? Video evidence proves he was shooting a deadly weapon at the officer and the officer defended himself yet the DA think the police were not justified in shooting and Brooks should have been able to flee. How does that keep our community safe?
They buckled to BLM terrorism.
Yea, except y'all don't file charges against power hungry cops
lol, power-hungry cops = cops who put entitled crybabies in their place.
Do y'all fly victims in and outta state ?

RCDA does not prosecute woman and definately encourages vexatious litigation.
