    Now that is a very clear and concise explanation of the system
    I have never been in trouble before. Until last year I drove past the security camera 6 minutes later it was destroyed.
    My truck has carpentry on the side, the police say I am the culprit.
    No video of who did it, one image a wooden handle hammer I own only steel that and all my tools are stored in secure storage complex with cameras and gate access
    My town is injustice system .

    As someone thats been in the court system for a felony....i can honestly say....(and im speaking to all defendents).....unless u know for a fact beyond a shadow of a doubt 100% that you are innocent and there is solid VERIFIABLE evidence to back it up....DO NOT...and i repeat DO NOT take a case to trial ESPECIALLY if you have a public defender...i would not want to put my freedom in the hands of people who know absolutely nothing about my character....and then all negotiations are off and the max is handed down on a guilty verdict.

    I don't know on which one of your many videos I should ask this question, so I will try this one. In South Carolina I was on trial for a charge that the words in the statute made no sense to me, so I asked the judge to provide a case to show someone else had been convicted of the same charge. The case he provided was not the same and he commented that if I get convicted, I could just appeal it. Well, I did get convicted and I did appeal it and I did serve a 20-prison sentence and I still have not found another conviction like mine and I have looked for 35 years. I know you won't believe me, and I don't blame you; however, when people don't understand my argument, I also notice they can't solve the three doors puzzle [GOOGLE 3 doors puzzle].

    What is your opinion, when is not witness, I’m not guilty. many mistakes from the city, 6 continuances, is it better to do a motion for dismissal or wait until the 7th preliminary, just tired of waiting and not getting a straight answer. Will appreciate your opinion, I live in Virginia.

    What if your criminal case goes to trial and the prosecutor has no witnesses, what happens then?

    • @TheLanceLawyers
      @TheLanceLawyers  2 года назад +7

      @Hazel: Good question! Like most things in the law, the answer is "it depends". Sometimes the prosecutor will have evidence to proceed without witnesses, sometimes they will have good cause to ask for a continuance. Most of the time, however, if no witnesses appear, a prosecutor is unable to proceed and the case may get dismissed. Every case is very fact dependent (at trial), so make sure to ask your attorney! Thanks for watching!

    What if a criminal case in Washington has been scheduled and you are not pleased with your public defender is it too late to hire a private attorney?

    • @TheLanceLawyers
      @TheLanceLawyers  Год назад +3

      @Kim Smith: You are always free to see if a private attorney will come in and substitute as counsel. The later it is in the proceedings, the less likely a private attorney may substitute in as they do not know what the public defender has done or told the prosecutor. Earlier on, first several months, it is more likely. Thank you for watching!

      @Alan - It depends. Criminal attorneys often charge a flat rate. Hourly attorneys, such as family law, could be not moving as fast as possible for financial reasons. Tough to say. That is a question to ask your lawyer. Honest communication is often appreciated. Thank you for your question and thank you for watching.

    If I WERE to ever violate someone, let THEM deal with me themselves, don't send a squad of armed, tax-fed PARASITES to violate me.

      That makes no sense. There would be a massive amount of power imbalances if no backup forces could help defend a person or party.
      If a women was walking down the street and some big dude started attacking them, it is no question that someone else should be able to help defend the women.
      I think there could be a better way to ensure that forces like the police don't ever have the ability to do unjustified things to people.
