  • Designed for exercise or simply to relax, join us on a wander around Falmouth.
This video was filmed on 21st June 2020, just as the UK is beginning to emerge from lockdown. The main street was closed to allow pedestrians to social distance . The quiet streets reflect peoples continued reluctance to leave their homes and the lack of tourists at what would normally be a busy holiday season.
This is a step-by-step walk starting at the Greenbank in Falmouth, walking through the main street to Pendennis headland, finishing at Gyllyngvase Beach.

This is quite a walk, especially as you still have to get back into the town and the car wow!! I am exhausted just sitting here watching you. Falmouth is a great mixture of a quaint, pretty town and wonderful coast.I think that it is ‘The World’ cruise ship anchored in the bay. Something for everyone on this virtual walk.

Thankyou Sarah & Andrew that is a walk we have done almost every summer for the last 45 years or so, alas not this year. It is so quiet, never seen it like this I expect it will get busier as restrictions are lifted. Once again Thank you and keep walking on our behalf.

Wow, what a walk and a half! That's a long old trek and then back again! Hope you had a paddle at the end before setting off back to the car! I love Falmouth. One of my favourite towns in Cornwall. So many interesting shops round the back streets to mooch around & the harbourside is lovely on a sunny day....had a trip over to St.Mawes once & misjudged the time, getting back to our car with just one minute left on the meter! It looked lovely on the day you walked it...so nice to have the streets virtually empty. Bet it won't be like that by now.....J x

I just got back from a 4 1/2 mile run and too a nice, cool Beach walk with Sarah and Andrew. Refreshing! Falmouth looks s lot different from Port Isaac and some of the other places. It's more urban, not as old but quite beautiful! Thank you.

Penryn is older with Falmouth being a relatively new town in Cornwall, dating from the 1600s. Sarah :)

Excellent video once again! Shame the town is like a ghost town and some shops boarded up. Lots of new restaurants and bars appearing. Was ironing my white suit for some 70's disco beats but bleddy Shades is shut! Hoping you would pop in 🤣

LOL! That is so funny! It is quiet as it was filmed just after lockdown was eased! Hopefully the town has been a bit busier since. The Old Post Office on the Moor is a restaurant - still doesn't compute for me! Sarah :)

Thank you so much! This was a great surprise! I didn`t know Falmouth was this pretty. Not that it shouldn`t be, but I had no idea :-) I have been sitting in my recliner. knitting and have had a fantastic virtual stroll with you now :-) Falmouth was supposed to be the end destination for our walking holiday 2020. Perhaps we should book one more overnight stay when we go next year so we can enjoy this beauty a bit longer...? ;.)

Falmouth is lovely and has a sense of naval history. However, as a pipe smoker, I was appalled by the cruel, sadistic, and inhumane invention of the King's Pipe. Duty is duty; this was barbaric. Aaargh!
