c'mon give this guy some credit. this isn't something that just ANYONE could do, it takes a real special person. this guy might not be a "hero" but he is definitely a superior role model.
let's remember he broke the sound barrier....twice.....with nothing more than a spacesuit separating him from the gut-wrenching g's of the upper atmosphere!
just awesome!! the guy is a legend and he should be worshipped for that sheer display of awesomness, space or not, science or publicity, or even just for fun...who actually cares?! what he did was brave, stupid but overall amazing!!!. ........just one question........,. please can i have a turn now NASA?
Technically, not even the ISS orbits through space but the thermosphere, below the exosphere and the only people who went into space were the Apollo program astronauts. Does this make Baumgartner's jump less awesome?
Hero? I wouldn't see him as a hero at all. Many people could do that... A true hero is like one who risks his own life for a strangers and doesn't think twice. That is a hero, this is just cool.
He meant He wasn't in space. He was only at the edge of it. If he was in Space. He wouldn't have fallen towards earth. Before Assuming thoughts, Hey. think again.
He but how is he different than anyone else in his situation? Someone else could have done what he did. If he had not done it then he would be replaced. But like my other situation if you replaced the hero with someone else, most likely he wouldn't be a hero anymore.
It was to build newer safer space suites, the same could be said about the 60's when the other guy jumped but now his suit is used by every astronaut. sure it was sponsored could you afford a 210million dollar experiment?
/watch?v=4H0JDomv8ac i think this song is better..watch before disagree ....start that other video at :20 and this from beginning.... epic seems to be made for this highlight video

Simply the most incredible mind blowing stunt I've ever witnessed. Anyone contemplating existence should watch this
I knew someone was going to pair this song (best song ever) with this jump (best anything ever). It's a match made in heaven! Literally! Thanks!
the best song for ANYTHING.
...so glad to be alive to witness this manned mission. absolutely amazing! hard training bro.

Elle est magnifique cette vidéo !
this is a good choice for this video
this made humanity!
parabéns a todos envolvidos neste projeto.
yes!!
Good choice of video for the music I'd say.
for me, the greatest hero of this century...
AWESOME
YES! I said the same thing when I saw this video; I played "Sail" in my head :)
Awesome
This guy has balls of steel
Oh yeaaa... still lasted more than my first. Marriage..
I would be nervous sky diving at a regular hight. This guys balls of steel helped him fall faster than the speed of sound.
because he wasn't quite in space... he went up to the stratosphere and he did deploy his parachute quite high up
0:21 some great words for an incredible aventure

"Maybe I'm a different breed" this guy sure is
thanks taija
tell red bull im down for that or anything thats crazy
It wasn't "space", it was the stratosphere. It's not being negative, it's called being factual.
Still cool :D Don't be negative, be happy!
muito louco
Hero? I wouldn't see him as a hero at all. Many people could do that... A true hero is like one who risks his own life for a strangers and doesn't think twice.
That is a hero, this is just cool.
"Maybe Im a different breed"
Would love to see a graph of his speed throughout the freefall.
Dude got ballz
I KNOW RIGHT
I'd so do this if I could. That would be incredible.
Jumps from space...... Lands on feet.... #Baller
He did saves someone live.
@saminisam1
He was on the edge of space, hence the "Mission to the edge of space" on the website.
@Hashem AL-Hashemi
Love that comment hahaha.
WOW I sure wouldn't be expecting to be alive after that... That is what you call balls!
4:20
AATW!

this guy have balls
Well technically he wasnt in space, he was still in the upper atmosphere..
oh really ? where was he ? universal studios ?
its pathetic how ppl are negative..
1:44 Rock On!
but the original music video.
He meant He wasn't in space.
He was only at the edge of it.
If he was in Space.
He wouldn't have fallen towards earth.
Before Assuming thoughts, Hey. think again.
Free fall ended 04:19 Video Ended 04:19. Why not just show full freefall?
why didn't he burn up?
would you do it , I would
pffft! that was falling with style lol
he was not in space
His "Space Capsule" was a helium balloon, that's why it looks like there is no gravity. Do your home work.
Again I say, Balls of Steal Felix!
1 person works for NASA. Lol
MrCrazyCahl now an open invitation for a cleared job prospects.: NASA
He but how is he different than anyone else in his situation? Someone else could have done what he did.
If he had not done it then he would be replaced.
But like my other situation if you replaced the hero with someone else, most likely he wouldn't be a hero anymore.
DO A FLIP
phew! good thing his blood didn't vaporize

what a publicity stunt...look at all the sponship. This wasn't for science - it was done 50 years ago for science. Pure publicity
lol no
comment...the best song for this jump!
