    Baumgartner reached an estimated speed of 1,357.6 km/h or 843.6 mph(Mach 1.25) jumping from the stratosphere, which when certified will make him the first man to break the speed of sound in freefall and set several other records while delivering valuable data for future space exploration.

    0:06 Felix leaves the vehicle.
    0:30 Felix begins to lose control and enters a spin.
    0:47 Felix surpasses Mach 1
    0:50 Felix drops below 100,000 feet (30,500 m)
    0:57 Felix begins rapid deceleration.
    1:07 Felix decelerating though mach 1.
    1:23 Felix regains control and regains stable flight.
    2:32 Felix is now at the altitude of an average commercial airliner.
    4:24 parachute deploy.
    9:05 Felix lands.

  • @samcdigweed
    @samcdigweed 10 лет назад +20

    When he exited his capsule, he was at around 128000ft. At this altitude, the air is very thin, so there is no air resistance for the first part of the freefall. Felix was therefore able to accelerate very quickly. When he fell closer to the ground, the air became thicker, so there was more air resistance. This slowed his fall down.
    Basically, the further he fell, the thicker the air became, slowing him down.

    Going from 8 to 1363 km/h in roughly 50 seconds… that must be like the best and scarriest thing you can experience. I can watch this video over and over again. In the other video I can hear how happy and emotional Joseph Kittinger is. He is the previous record holder of the highest jump.

      I'm not a flat earther but I certainly wouldn't be ignorant enough to think everything I watch has to be real... Why are people so shocked and rude that people would deny what main stream media puts out to us??
      People thought it was crazy that there'd be a pedophile ring with a government and movie stars... Then we see Jeffrey Epstein people think it was a conspiracy that government officials meet then we learned about Bohemian Grove!!! Shall I go on?
      I'm not denying this video but to say it's one hundred percent real is impossible!

  • @Wa5ffl3s
    @Wa5ffl3s 10 лет назад +40

    Something amazing I found: Felix is traveling faster than the speed of sound using his arms to guide his decent well, up to this point 0:55. His dive becomes a "back flop" in the next 15 seconds which leaves him spinning at an insanely high speed with tremendous G-force that actually CAUSES HIS HEART TO STOP momentarily. Watch the heart rate monitor at 1:10 and his heart actually stops beating for ~4 seconds. What an insane stunt to pull off, glad you made it home!

    • @Wa5ffl3s
      @Wa5ffl3s 10 лет назад +13

      Also of great note: at 1:19 he pulls off an almost inhuman flight maneuver with his left arm to cut down into a spiral to regain stability of his descent when entering the lower atmosphere. Just amazing.

    • @joshh2410

    1:13 He passes out for nearly 3 second. You can se his heart stop and his arms start to tighten towards the body result of a natural reflex in fadeouts. No wonder he said he would never do it again. Brave man. Tough as they come!

    • @Lvxurie
      @Lvxurie Месяц назад

      This is so wrong. The machine bugs out and he is tucking his arms in so that he can regain stability. Watch it again and you'll see he tucks, puts one arm out, tucks puts the other arm out and then does some amazing manoeuvre to regain stability. Its the same way ice skaters regulate thier spinning speed.

    • @sailorman8668
      @sailorman8668 4 года назад +3

      Not that the earth is flat of course, but have you not realised that a camera with a grossly distorting and exaggerating wide-angle lens was used?
      Had a rectilinear (non-distorting) lens been used, the curvature of the horizon would have been quite minimal from the altitude of 24 miles, nothing like what is seen in the video.
      So actually, this is not a very realistic proof that the earth isn't flat.

      Not really.
      From an email from Art Thompson after I'd asked about heating from a higher fall:
      "Falling from the altitude and speeds that Felix fell and not taking into consideration any other cooling from the environment Felix would experience about 116 F max kinetic heating. However he was traveling through atmospheric temperatures of -95 F so in fact the concern was cooling and not kinetic heating. This condition was very brief and even though it was extreme it proved not to be a problem with the anticipated thermal insulation that we added. In the event you were to jump from altitudes closer to 330k feet you would experience closer to 350 F+ and more likely experience speeds exceeding MACH 3.5. To do so without a stabilization device and thermal protection would be unwise. We are already looking at future testing at Sage Cheshire, Inc."

    proof the EARTH DOESN'T NOT SPIN. IF THE EARTH SPINS AT 1000 MPH HE WOULD OF LANDED IN THE PACIFIC AND DO YOU SEE THE EARTH MOVING AT 1000MPH? YOU COULD FROM THAT HEIGHT

    • @TJMoore-lq6me
      @TJMoore-lq6me 9 лет назад +11

      +xXLordWrekXx We move as fast as Earth. Like a backpack on a school bus. It's travelling just as fast as the school bus is. He would've had to make this jump from 10 times the altitude he jumped from in order to be out of the orbit of Earth enough to land in the wrong place. This is called the Coriolis effect. Snipers who make long distance shots with calibers that are only lethal in a direct hit (unlike the .50 caliber) have to account for the target being moved out of the bullet's flight path by Earth's rotation. That is an object travelling laterally along the surface of the Earth. This man made a free fall descent towards Earth, but still in the same forward orbit, so to speak. So while falling, he was still in a geo-sync orbit from the Stratosphere moving WITH Earth while falling. I hope that makes sense.

      @FaithandActiondotnet 10 лет назад +1

      samcdigweed If I leave my religion out of this, then you will continue to go about your life lost, blind, and spiritually dead in your sins without regarding the fact that you have Judgment to face in the end. You will continue to party through life entertaining yourself with whatever you want on the wide road to perdition that will distract you and lead you off of a cliff that you will not be able to take back. Please, consider humbling yourself and repenting of your many sins against the God who Created you and the physics you love so much. Believe in the One and only God who died to save you, Jesus Christ. Choose Life & Truth.

    Here's a fun game you can play:
    1. Watch this video here again
    2. Look at the earth
    3. Try to find any water... at least one percent out of the 71%
    4. Realise there's no water on a whole surface of the earth
    5. WTF
    6. Realise that a huge part of the earth is missing so they can edit the surface to make it look round
    7. Ask yourself, why would they do this?
    8. The earth is flat, that's why.
