i just got the game because I won it at a tournament (despite not having it, I am really good). It is so frustrating when people are good at this lmao. I typically am the frontrunner and then somehow people smuggling make it by everyone without getting touched while I am getting blue shelled about 10 times to ensure everyone catches up.
One time, when I was very young. I smuggled a blue shell to first place. Then, on the final lap. I used it on myself to see what had happened. BIG Mistake. Note: I did this on Mario Kart DS. My very first Mario game.
A tip: If you smuggle a blue shell to first, use it when you want to troll someone or at a moment when you'll cross the finish line in confirmed first place

Back in the day with MKW, it used to be a hella strategy thing in competitive. But, it used to be for Lightning for team sniping. It created major set ups that allowed for almost a Top 6 samemanclan.

1. Enter a 200cc lobby
2. When race begins, stall out.
3. Win race.
4. Call Mankalor and say "I did it. I item smuggled"
Me saving all my potions and items during the final boss in case there's a secret final boss or a phase 2
