I loved this damn show. this used to be my shit and I'd wake up early and switch to kix or pop and watch this before school. I was so sad when I learned it was discontinued and they never found their mother.

Even though this cartoon didn't have Tails, it did however introduce Knuckles with a loose adaptation of Sonic 3. Also this cartoon was cancelled Mid-Broadcast so they never did find their mum. And they never cared who their Father was either.

Honestly, apart from the intro, "Someday" was the only Underground song I've ever liked mostly because of the sentiment and emotion behind it xD

I'm surprised you failed to mention the fact that the series was never finished so it never had a proper ending. Also, as someone who grew up watching this in the mid 2000's through the magic of repeats, I actually thought this was pretty cool. I was raised on rock music and this was my first introduction to sonic the hedgehog (other than maybe sonic 3D flickies island/sonic 3D blast on PC) so at the time this seemed great and my friend also watched it and liked it so we made our own 'roleplays' I guess? based on this show. Fun times. Looking back on it, it definitely still has its merits but the songs were mostly terrible which I actually thought at the time for many of them, Bartlbee will never not be a stupid name and the fact there was no ending was really annoying.

They were going to try and write an ending for SU in the Archie comics a year or two ago, but it ended up being delayed and scrapped.

STORY TIME
i think i was about 7 when my town was flooded. We where all transported to the high school. i remember staying in the library with al the other kids watching this show. Years later i had this idea for a comic about a angsty teen garage band that were turned into Vampires that have instruments that turn in to weapons with a monster of the week premise. it was more of a mixer of sonic underground and Danny Phantom really.

I grew up in Pennsylvania at first. Everything was fine, I loved to play basketball a lot too. One day I was shooting some hoops when these bullies (they caused trouble in my neighborhood) and I ended up getting in a fight and that made my mom really scares. I had to move with my aunt and uncle in bel-air.

Sonic Underground was one of the two things that greeted me as a child to the world of Sonic, the other being Sonic 06, and it's a big part of my childhood. It may not be what I call a good cartoon (Like Scooby Doo, Powerpuff Girls, etc.), but it's not what I call a bad cartoon (Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog). It does have its downsides, but it's better to look at the good stuff than looking at the bad stuff. It's one of those cartoons I can look back to and say "It's still good to me!".
Edit: So, since I've made this comment, I would like to say this: There might be a reason that I never watched Sonic Underground again in a while. Also, I've actually gave AOSTH a second chance, and I've warmed up to it. It's fine. Not a fantastic show, just fine.

Due to the show's cancellation, the storyline of Sonic Underground remained unresolved. ... However, the issue instead featured a plotline starring Metal Sonic, while epilogue got cancelled. According to Ian Flynn, the epilogue is still planned, but the story has not yet been finalized.
after 10mins later i found out that issue 50 of sonic universe will continue sonic underground this is not correct so fuck i wish sonic underground was not cancelled

I'm not even gonna lie, this show was my (jelly and) jam back in the day. I remember recording the OP on my flipcam recorder so I could watch it all the time. What a wild time...
As much as I like Sonic Underground after seeing the first episode, and as much as I liked Sonic SatAM, I'm not sure they quite fit together as one canon without some changes to either story.
One of the most noticeable contradictions has to do with the beginning of Robotnik's rulership, which was displayed in the time travel episode of Sonic SatAM, and the first episode of Sonic Underground. In Underground, Uncle Chuck is robotisized _long_ after Robotnik takes over, when Sonic is grown up. However, in SatAM, Uncle Chuck is robotisized only hours after Robotnik takes over.
I haven't read a lot of the Sonic Comics, so I wouldn't know how they contradict either show...

I just recently watched some episodes of it and found the show to be quite......interesting. It has a plot that's quite different to other Sonic shows and features basically his origins, plus Manic and Sonia were interesting characters mainly because they were Sonic's Siblings

Dingo, the orange guy and Sleet, the ugly coyote were the best part of this show. Dingo was to Sonic Underground what Nappa is to DBZA. One of their best banters was in the first episode, you'll know it when you see it.

Sonic Underground was the first Sonic show that I saw as a kid. I clicked on it, thinking it was a new lets play of some kind (i was like 7, okay?) and i really liked it. I was never really in the fandom, but the goofiness of it was my favorite part of coming home from school, so I could find the next episode. When i ran out (CURSE YOU FOR STOPPING MID BROADCAST) I ended up finding Sonic Sat AM, which I loved even more

I respect your opinion, but I loved. both Underground and SATAM. I mean, sure some of the songs in Underground were corny, but at least in my opinion they were catchy and well sung. The plot itself was brilliant, I loved that Sonic got siblings and was secretly (or not) royalty. The dark tone fit well with both shows, and both had moments of humor to break up that "edgyness". Overall I think both shows were and are great adaptions of the Sonic universe.
You did it again Peter! You had me laughing at stuff I never laughed at when I watched SU for the first time. It wasn't my favorite series, but like you there were things I liked about it. Including Knuckles was also a plus. That's funny that you didn't mention him, but you're forgiven. You're too funny to be ridiculed. You and you're brother are so much like me and my brother when we watch cartoons. I think we would explode if we all were in the same room watching a show. Just kidding, that probably wouldn't happen. Great vid! Keep it up!
Manic and Sonia are a forgotten characters in Sonic Games/Shows, they did bring back some in Sonic Mania so who knows? I really hope they bring both of them back, they deserve to exist just like any other character.

I like Sonic Underground. Watched through all forty episodes. I do wish more had been done with it but meh. I agree with you. They did a lot of things right. A cohesive story, likable characters, good chemistry between said characters, etc.

Yes, the adjective "cheesy" is truly applicable to this show, and with the possible exception of the theme, there wasn't a single song that WASN'T cringe territory, but it had a few diverting episodes, and they did dare to introduce Knuckles--that's a couple pluses you could give it.

The show was my childhood. I have vivid memories watching this show and loving it. Mostly the earlier episodes though. I remember hating the shows sudden ending.

I watched it a few years ago and I remember a scene where Manic and Sonic were talking and the same voice came out of them for a few moments
The Archie Sonic fan continuation actually did a whole issue all about Sonic Underground, where the triples use the Chaos Emeralds to go Super and takedown Robotnik, and rescue their mother. It’s actually a pretty cool finale for this very strange show
SU and SatAm are my favourite shows of all time in the Sonic universe (and I like the other three shows, as well). Mainly SU showed me I would have the biggest crush on a character ever x3 The show may seem bad but if you can stop laughing, it's really good, I promise xD

I've learned something new from this video. Jaleel White has an impressive vocal range. What annoyed me most about the show was how the robots were weak to music. "We're surrounded! I know, let's break out the instruments. That'll solve all our problems!"
It watched the French dub on Teletoon when I was little and their voices are way more mature and a lot less squeaky in French. I loved this show so much as a kid! I never went back to it because I know it probably doesn't hold up but I remember it fondly.

I was watching some episodes a couple days ago and at some point Sonia’s voice straight up sounded like a chipmunk voice. Now I know why! XD

In case anyone cares, I'm trying to hunt down the cast of the show so it can be finished. I'm aware it may be futile but if I must I'll finish it myself. I'm not letting a decent show be destroyed by budget issues or whatever again (poor SatAM). Please help if you care. If not, then simply ignore me cuz whatevs I'm not going to stop. I still wished that they haven't left Sonic Undergrond as a cliffhanger at the end of that series because we never got to see Sonic, Sonia and Manic reunited with their mother Queen Aleena as well as the prophecy fulfilled of defeating Robotnik once and for all.
