Because sports game developers have gotten lazy. Sports games in general are just bad anymore and don't even come close to the ones in early 2000s. I mean just look at how bad Madden is now.

@@itskaspahoe7161 Exactly! Now, I am not a game developer. I know nothing about coding and different software Motorsport Games uses. But was it too difficult to add cautions, custom setups, everything else… what were they doing the last 2? 2.5? Years

There is 0 reason why things like a mirror, stages, and a track map aren't in the game. I want a direct response from Devs on why these basic features aren't in the game (Like that will ever happen)
Well I would ask from a reply from the suits (executives) that tell the devs what to put in the game. The suits make the decisions.

This explains why we never got more than 10 seconds of consecutive gameplay for months. It becomes a dumpster fire after anything longer than that

Year in and year out, The nascar thunder and nascar chase for the cup games are just light years better than these shit games. It’s simply amazing. Going on 20 years later and those games, created with such little technological advances at the time, were made just so much better.
We’ve had custom setups since the ps1 days. Inexcusable omission
The no setups I can actually really understand. Rfactor 2's shit engine has a fuck ton of physics exploits that can happen with setups to the point everyone would be running the same setup
@Brett Barker Alright I've never clicked with rfactor 2's physics like I did with other sims, but people seem to like it so I shouldn't label it a bad engine. That doesn't change what I said about the setup exploits, thats just an objective issue with the engine
@@dirtcrazykid9674 that’s not a good enough reason to say take out custom setups though. There are a lot of games that had exploitable setups and people weren’t saying take out setups. F1 2011 or 2012 had the max camber and 11-1 wings setup glitch nascar inside line or one of those had the low back high front end glitch on superspeedways. That doesn’t mean remove custom setups it means patch your game and fix it, or live with the possibility of stuff like that happening.

They really need to add a camera shake option to turn it off. That's going to be my biggest gripe with this game.
I understand this is an older version, but how much can the day one patch *actually* fix? There are SO many issues in this current state and I’m not confident one single patch could possibly fix the numerous problems we’ve seen.
Depends on how old the version that is out there actually is. It may be the same build they have had at the race tracks where they have already mentioned the issues found in those are waiting in the day 1 patch.
@@derAmerikangamer hopefully that’s the case 👍🏻 it still just baffles me that they were willing to send this out to creators to show off all of these problems, rather than giving them a newer version similar to the day 1 build
It s not just about fixing, there are literally basic things missing (stages and track map for example)
@@FuckYouSam I agree. I would think maybe those would come in the patch since they’re such basic things. I’m more worried about track problems, AI, physics, etc… still a ton missing regardless
Day 1 patches can be good, but I expect a good bit of bugs to still be present, but things like missing settings and settings resetting I'd expect to get fixed. When it came to Black Ops 3, there was actually a late bug that caused the game to crash upon start up before it could run checks to be able to download a day 1 patch so they had to remake all the physical copies and release them with a version of the game that was almost a year behind and then push out almost the entirety of the game with a day 1 patch.
Idk what it is but this is unacceptable for any game honestly. I’m tired of developers releasing broken and buggy games because they know they can just patch shit up later. Back in the day before we had patches you had to make sure your game worked from when it was bought. No second chances. This was painful honestly. I’ve seen guys getting black flags for going below lines at tracks like Phoenix. There’s no penalty there ffs at least make sure the rules are correct

The red flag should have been when it was discovered to only have cup. I mean this is basically NHE all over again with the same arguments that were made around that steaming pile of shit. "It's only their first game, they need time to work out the bugs". Every time it's the same thing.

Lots of key elements not featured but we don't even know for sure what elements will be addressed through a patch. That's concerning. Seems like all the main youtubers have pretty much the same criticism for the game and are acting like the day 1 patch will be the cure-all. When has a day 1 patch ever made a game drastically better? Which brings me back around to my original question, why bother releasing something so unpolished to get people worried about the fidelity of the game?
In other videos of this game, they have Kaulig's 16 & Penske's 33 slower than the Rick Ware, Starcom & Live Fast cars which is BS because the 16 & 33 are a lot faster.

That was incredibly frustrating to watch haha. Thanks for posting an honest review and saving me $$. I'm pretty bearish on the patch fixing these major issues on day 1.. We've been burned too many times in the past. Might even be worth it to skip this year all together and wait for the second installment with the new car. I'll tune back in to see your patch update but not overly optimistic lol.

Ignition 21 does not seem at all ready to be released. Unless they have some miracle day 1 patch, I don’t know how they can sell this product the way it is and expect players to be happy about it. The stages thing alone is inexcusable, that’s an integral part each and every race and it’s not in the game? This was a brand new build and we all knew it wasn’t going to be perfect but I don’t think we thought it was going to be this far off.

I don’t mind that bubba was 3rd and now 19th. It happens to any driver throughout a race. Especially plate racing. I don’t like no stage racing, no cautions and especially hate how the cars are spread apart. Another easy fix, I’m sure with ai tweaking. Hell, you could tweak ai in nr2003.
I honestly wish we had options to tweak ai drivers. If not that at least real race stats to make these races a little more realistic. If nr2003 did it, these guys can do it.

I’m wondering if you aren’t doing a long enough race for there to be stages. Maybe 50% length or more or something like that.
Going to wait until they release a 2022 Update if they do that for them to work out the bugs and glitches. Feel like releasing this game at the end of the season is just a terrible idea, needs to be released in Mid-January early February just before the Daytona 500. The game looks amazing but they need to work on a bunch of things before I consider buying it. Another reason for you to keep your Thunder 2003 Career going.

We shouldnt need patches for this game. They have supposedly been working on this for 2 years so why is it like this? The internet did this by allowing companies to make a half azzed game then patch it later. Back in the day there were no patches. You made a game and had one shot to get it right. WE are the beta testers for games now. They dont have to pay testers. WE pay them to test their game.

The spotted will say if you’re three wide regardless of if you’re top, bottom or middle, and will tell you where the other two are.
Heat's spotter only said three wide if you were in the middle.

Thanks for this. Tough to watch after all of the hype and excitement. I hope they are able to patch some of the minor issues. But it’s not enough for me to get it at release right now. I’d be more frustrated at the small things than all of the new stuff. Ill keep watching some videos to see where the game goes in the next few weeks.

For christ sake. Can someone just give codemasters the license for every motorsport series for the next 5 years. They are the only ones that can make a fun and well refined racing game. Not flawless but light-years ahead of these clowns.
Codemasters is EA now so unless you want to pay real $ to race as Logano or Elliott or whatever

The settings reset everything randomly. It even turns off the racing rules and thats why there are no cautions. Also cautions are very hard to bring out anyway
