Bro, you just took this channel to another level. Love it. Japan is one of the coolest places in the world to visit. Can't wait to see what adventures you have over there.
It's cool that your visiting Japan Mav. You are an adventurer for sure and Japan seems like a cool country to visit. You are also very friendly to every one you have come across as well. I do hope to truck or van camp myself some day. Mav you are living it up for sure and I do look foward to your new vids as well. That knife you made looks good too. Mav keep on being authentic and your true self and take care.
Welcome to Japan man! I've been here almost 8 years. Seeing you go to the convenience store and driving around makes me remember how new this all used to seem. If you run into trouble and need anything, let me know I'm in the Tokyo area (Akiruno).
Wow! How different is Japan's way of life. It's so amazing. The social mores, down to how one ties the kimono was interesting. I can't imagine what Japanese thought of our Western culture.😱 The food was prepared so beautifully and it must have been amazing. What a great way to shake off stress. Your knife turned out really well considering the language barrier. I think you spoke and understood enough to get the job done. Amazing ppl Mav. Amazing video. Until next time! Keep on trucking Mav!😊
Isn't it such a breath of fresh air to have such clean environment? Clean taxis, clean streets, clean campgrounds, clean rentals.......That is one thing Americans could learn from the Japanese culture and something I vividly remember from my travels there.
Wow dude, I went to Tokyo once for work for about a week.. I was incredibly intimidated by the language barrier and had to really force myself to go do anything. I admire your willingness to step into the unknown for a whole month. Seems like you're getting by pretty well, really looking forward to the future Japan videos!
Most Japanese people have studied English for ten years in school. They are shy about speaking and will say they don't speak English but in fact a person who speaks no Japanese will have no trouble getting by in Japan. Most Japanese understand English grammar better than many native English speakers. They value education there. The Japanese people have to learn to read and write 2000 characters in order to be fully literate and are learning them right through high school. It's a different mentality there. They are diligent people. Also polite, kind, peaceful, ethical and fun-loving.
You can program your phone now to speak a different language for you. Just speak in it anit will repeat. What you saying in the language. Technology can be cool sometimes ☺️

@@KuruKuruGorilla i mean- dude.. i'm not completely backwards to not recognise that everything has its flaws? no country is perfect, i just personally admire japan's culture. i'm just kinda confused as to how my comment insinuates im holding japan on this unrealistic pedestal. most people have a dream country they want to visit, and most people are interested in a country's culture.. these don't necessarily link with my perspective of japan's welfare

this is actually super cool! ive been wanting to go to japan one day. how you mentioned getting around town not knowing the language, shopping, and getting out of the comfort zone are definitely my top concerns. gives me a bit more confidence seeing someone just GO for it, and step out of their normal boundaries as well
As an American, I've lived in Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Japan and visited countless other countries without speaking the language. It's a blast and you learn along the way. Bosnia and Japan are my favorites because of how friendly the people are. Old Town Sarajevo is gorgeous. Just go for it!
I lived there 6 years at Yokota Airbase. Best time of my life! My dad use to take me up to Mt Fuji to camp/ swim in the rivers all the time. We would drive all the dirt roads leading up the mountains on scooters. It's amazing how different it is when you get out of the city. I'll never forget seeing a huge "Ninja base" on the mountain side. I would give anything to get back there one day! Have fun brother and enjoy it!

Putting yourself out there can lead to such amazing outcomes , ty for the reminder.
i did a 6 month tour at yokota air base in 2020 (30 mins from shinjuku) and on the weekends i would explore all over tokyo and yokohama. i loved japan so much. didnt have a car so i never got to go very far from the train stations so im excited to see your adventures! brings back good memories just hearing the automated japanese voices in 7 eleven 🥹

Mav this is awesome! I lived in Japan back in 2002 and was able to travel throughout the country. If an Alabama boy could make it, you'll have no problem at all! Such a beautiful and welcoming country! Safe travels my friend.
Just wow! Japan is on my bucket list of places to visit! I will be watching your journey and learning how a someone from the Midwest can adapt and travel in a foreign land. Hope you have an amazing adventure!
For fishing you can usually find Suzuki (a sea bass) under salt water bridges that have lights on the bridge and you can find chinu usually around the boats by the seawalls. I've found that the tiny crabs work best for chinu with a small hook and size 4b weight just above the hook (the lead ones that you squeeze with pliers) both make for a great meal but Suzuki is by far more fun to catch.
I remember watching you back before you had 100k subscribers, taking a bit of an unintentional break from your channel, only to come back and see your channel BOOMING. I’m so happy for you bro
My wife and I have been watching you for awhile, excited to see you experience Japan. We've lived here for the last couple years. @@KuruKuruGorilla i don't expect too much?
@@deleteriousss if you expect too much from Japan. the country is not very clean. they are literally rats on the on the streets in bigger cities. politeness is superficial etc.
@@deleteriousss Japan was my DREAM too but to live in... until I actually start living in, turned out my DREAM was delusional. You know Dream is a big word that I won't use it easly anymore.
How absolutely exciting!! Such an adventure. You are so brave to do this all by yourself with just a translator app and your smile. Great video
this is actually super cool! ive been wanting to go to japan one day. how you mentioned getting around town not knowing the language, shopping, and getting out of the comfort zone are definitely my top concerns. gives me a bit more confidence seeing someone just GO for it, and step out of their normal boundaries as well
As an American, I've lived in Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Japan and visited countless other countries without speaking the language. It's a blast and you learn along the way. Bosnia and Japan are my favorites because of how friendly the people are. Old Town Sarajevo is gorgeous. Just go for it!
Perfect way to end a good weekend, New vid from Mav 🍻
I lived there 6 years at Yokota Airbase. Best time of my life! My dad use to take me up to Mt Fuji to camp/ swim in the rivers all the time. We would drive all the dirt roads leading up the mountains on scooters. It's amazing how different it is when you get out of the city. I'll never forget seeing a huge "Ninja base" on the mountain side. I would give anything to get back there one day! Have fun brother and enjoy it!
Foreign soilders have a reputation of raping locals.
MAV! This is so exciting. Thank you for taking us on this journey with you. I cannot wait!! You are one of the few people I watch religiously on RUclips and binge your old content. Keep it up!!
I love you mav be safe driving everytime you travel gods on your side🤞🏽
What a pleasant surprise! As one of your Otaku viewers & I'm sure there has to be others .. I must say seeing you in Japan is great 👍 .. all that aside it is also strangely motivating seeing you navigate in foreign lands. Putting yourself out there can lead to such amazing outcomes , ty for the reminder.
Can’t wait to see what he cooks in this trip , livin out my dream 🤘
Beautiful timepiece
i did a 6 month tour at yokota air base in 2020 (30 mins from shinjuku) and on the weekends i would explore all over tokyo and yokohama. i loved japan so much. didnt have a car so i never got to go very far from the train stations so im excited to see your adventures! brings back good memories just hearing the automated japanese voices in 7 eleven 🥹
Mav! My guy! Finally exploring the world! You might want to check out New Zealand one day. They have incredible views, crystal clear lakes (in NZ you can drink straight from them, no filter needed!) and lots of national parks and campgrounds!
If we had time machines I would go.
Damn boy you've come a long way from sneaking into resorts & now to Japan! This is going to be fun to watch!
Fascinating! This old granniemaw loves your travel adventure series, Mav. I will never get to Japan so this is the next best thing. Thank you.
Ok now I'm super jealous. I was born in Japan 60 years ago. Only lived there for 9 months before my parents flew back to the states. I've always dreamed of going back to visit.
White people didnt put your parents in cages when they arrived?
Its never too late to see Japan
Very proud of you Mav 👏 I grew up in Duluth area! So it's really cool seeing a local do amazing things! You are such a gentleman. Looking forward to more cool stuff you share with us and awesome places that you go to. Keep it up Mav.

Watching from Kenya east of Africa
Three years of following each and every video you upload,
Lets keep camping
I can't wait to see Japan through your eyes. Safe travels 🙏 💕
Awesome video Mav! Really excited to see the rest of your adventures camping in Japan. I’ve traveled there once years ago but the last few years have really gotten into Japanese camping RUclipsrs. It’s really interesting seeing how they camp, their vehicles/campers and the types of things they cook. If you don’t already watch them, I definitely recommend “Coupy Channel”, “Dentan” and “Tales Along the Way”. All are really cool RUclips channels. Cheers!
Very cool! I always wanted to see Japan in the winter. I looked forward to more posts.
Awesome; been binge watching Abroad in Japan and Tokyo Lens for the last couple of months and now you too are in the land of my dreams ❤️🙋♀️
I love that your in Japan and we all get to live vicariously through you! ❤️ 🤗
Looks like this is going to be a fun trip! I like that you're cooking Japanese meals as well. It gives me some food ideas to switch things up in the home😄
That campsite looked very clean! Looks like they probably rake it daily.
Looking forward to the next video!

Hey Mav, love the videos. Seeing this 1 minute after you posted it. keep posting man can't wait for more
I love when Mav gets these "I wanna go somewhere totally new" inspirations. Don't get me wrong, I love and always will love his local area and original content, but I get a special eye-widening reaction when I see a title like this. Keep on truckin, keep on evolving ✌
Well yeah!! Looking forward to this entire adventure Mav.
Mav this is awesome! I lived in Japan back in 2002 and was able to travel throughout the country. If an Alabama boy could make it, you'll have no problem at all! Such a beautiful and welcoming country! Safe travels my friend.
Appreciate the vid mav keep killing it!
Great adventure! Great food! Beautiful island and amazing culture!
Yes Japan can’t wait to watch this ❤😊

Awesome dude! I am so stoked for you! Enjoy Japan
My wife and I have been watching you for awhile, excited to see you experience Japan. We've lived here for the last couple years. We're currently near Tokyo on a road trip, heading toward Nagano to check out the snow monkeys in a few days, then Mt fuji, then working our way back home toward the Yamaguchi area. If you'd like to link up, just let me know!
How come your name is Kadir Perez ? Are u half Arab half Latino ?
I lived in Iwakuni for a few months and it was amazing. They people I met were very friendly and we still stay in touch.
Been watching your videos for a few years now. And I'm super stoked to follow you on this adventure! Japan is easily in my top 5 countries to visit at some point in my life! The culture seems incredible, food looks delicious, and the people seem so hospitable and wholesome.
