One is a framer and one is a finish hammer. Glad I could clear this mystery up for you

Old was my Grandfather’s hammer. New is one of two I bought at Home Depot when I heard they were no longer carrying the Estwing brand. So I bought the blue handle and leather handle since they were on sale.

Not sure what you were trying to get across . You have two different style’s of hammers a worn waffle head framing hammer and a smooth face finish style hammer which is new so? Still not clear on your point of the video

I tried a waffle head hammer once, took off some skin. I wouldn’t let a waffle head on a finish job

Yeah... That first one needs a grinder took to it. Hit that finger with that waffle head and it busts the end of your finger. Waffles also tend to make a ringing noise. The rest of the crew hates you if your hammer rings.
