Hi Rob and Jim - I feel like I'm late to the party here having just discovered your site. I am now sub'd and looking forward to digging through back issues and seeing new content. As a home distiller and a very keen DIY'er I am looking at a 3 vessel system to improve on conversion efficiencies for making my whiskies. I generally ferment in 200ltr batches so I will be figuring out what size tanks I would need. Great vid, great info and just as important you guys have a great presence and delivery. Great video showcasing the bigger 3 vessel system. Just need a controller for the elements greater than 2.4kW. I can recommend craftbeerpi but it’s very diy build.
Totally agree, the idea is this is the base system, you can get used to using it and then add whatever extras the individual user requires. If you add Einbrew controllers it can be completely automated using off the shelf parts. Or, you can go the DIY route and learn some new skills;)
@@themaltmiller8438 Like Andrew I've just finished an eHERMs build using a BrewPi Spark with SSR's activating both HLT and BK elements and the heater and cooling circuits of the ferm chamber I've also built. The BrewPi team have a great article using empirical data to model the physics of heat transfer to find the ideal length of a HERMs coil in the HLT. Worth reading. Will be brewing my 1st batch tomorrow with ingredients from themaltmiller that arrived Friday. 👍

@@skuda9 craftbeerpi build can be anywhere between £200-£600. Depends how much you already have about the house.
I could not gravity feed from the plate chiller if my 70 L F/V are higher up than the boil kettle I need to take it through a pump..
The best way to brew in my opinion, much more involved.
