- This video is the initial phase for a company logo project to mount in a curved front desk. Use of the Crazy Horse Dolly to handle and process sheet goods on the sliding table saw is shown (it would work well for a cabinet saw as well). Setup and use of the Aigner Bowmould Master and adjustable bearing guide is also shown.

I made my own crazy horse dolly..I cannot ever see myself without it..I process 4 x8 plywood sheets daily and the dolly is worth every penny and then some..

I really appreciate watching people who buy top quality items for their own use & show the rest of us the advantages, and sometimes disadvantages in using them. I purchased the Aigner finger fence for my spindle moulder, after watching you use one, and have never looked back. The ring fence looks like it could be a little more of a “faff” to set up though. Would be interested in you doing a comparison against a traditional one if ever you get chance. PS. You can’t beat honest reviews from people who are not being paid or gifted items. Keep up the good work Steve, your channel is superb 👍
Hi Neil. Thank you for the feedback. By traditional, I assume you are referring to just a cutter with a bearing? I do have a few bearings but went with the adjustable bearing to accommodate a variety of different cutter diameters and in this case to adjust the rebate size. In any case, it sounds like a good subject for a video. Steve
@@extremewoodworker Hi again Steve. Sorry no, I meant a ring fence, at least that’s what we refer to them as in the UK. I’ve not seen much on the subject from the guys in the US but there is a guy here called Bradshawjoinery on RUclips, he, like you does some really good work on a spindle moulder. He actually made his own ring fence on one video when he couldn’t find a suitable size bearing. Your tips are always greatly appreciated. Thanks again Neil
@@neilw4881 Thanks Neil. I think I may have seen his videos so I will check him out. My Format4 came with a plastic hood that may have something similar but I have never used it since I purchased the Aigner. I may pull it out and see. Steve
@@neilw4881 Ring fences are extremely uncommon here in the US. Bearings or previously dead collars mounted to the table (extension of a table ring) were typical for pattern work.
Thanks for the video. I had been thinking of purchasing the Crazy Horse for quite some time and then it became unavailable. As soon as I saw this video, I immediately contacted Michael and placed an order for one. It is in shipment and will hopefully be in my shop by next week.

Got my crazy horse few years ago absolutely perfect for a one man shop loading sheet goods on a Cnc. Mine is plywood also another local shop saw mine and ordered one theirs came in aluminum, must have been a trial run if they went back to plywood.
I have seen one made from aluminum and they are nice but I am sure cost a lot more to produce.

With that adjustable bearing do you have to make the cut in one exact spot? Looked like you set one point on the guide.
Hi Paul. The guide has an elliptical shape to it so there is one point that offers the maximum depth of cut. That point is marked with a white mark. Steve
I like the attachment for the shaper. I wonder if they have that for my F3 hammer.
Hi Chris, I am pretty sure it would fit your Hammer. It comes with a drilling template for the surface of your shaper so you would have to drill and tap some holes. I ordered this with my shaper and had Felder drill and tap the shaper table to secure it. Felder carries them as well as Martin. Just spec out the adjustable guide for the spindle size you have. Looks like I spy an AD-741 in the background... Did you replace the SCM?
if you are considering one or the other, I've bought both an ad741 and a minimax elite series machine new. They are comparable price wise but the minimax is a considerably better machine. Single post planer table on felder vs 4 post on minimax, and a friction wheel on the felder vs gear box on the minimax for driving the feed roller. My customer service experience with felder was also one of the worst I've ever experienced. Can't speak on customer service of SCM as I've never needed it.
Hi PK. Yes - Michael is a great guy. I met him and his wife last October at the Alpine Technical Workshop. I still have the SCM and have had the AD741 in my shop for 12 years. I won't share how this came about but have decided to sell the AD741. It is sold but the guy buying it has to add on to his shop first. Steve
@@mckay5858 It depends on the vintage machine. My AD741 is a 2005 model has served me well and has the 4 post design. On the post design for the new models you are correct and I would not purchase a new AD741 for that reason plus you cannot get the Digi-drive on that model. In the 15 years of owning the SCM and 12 of the Felder, I feel that if I could take the best features from both, I would have a near perfect J/P combo machine. FWIW - I have had good experiences with Felder technical support but my single experience with SCM technical support 14 years ago left a lot to be desired. Things do change over time. Steve
@@extremewoodworker my 741 was a 2018, it did have digital table lift and read out but ya was glad to see the back side of it. I have been told the older ones are better but very rare to find here.
Thanks Steve. On the subject of items in your workshop I have a quote from Barth for their adjustable height mobile bench with vacuum pads , I noticed you had one and I was wondering if you could let me know your opinion on it . With regard to the content I prefer when you need to use a lot of machines/tools and process. Videos with the cnc don’t hold as much interest for me as it’s just doing the work , still good work but not as interesting as watching you doing the woodwork or operating the machinery. Regardless of people’s response keep doing it if you enjoy it 👍
Hi David. Thank you for the feedback as I could pretty much tell from the views that my CNC only videos do not do well.
On the Barth, I have a 500V and I understand they no longer make that and have replaced it with a small unit. I use it on nearly every project but the large horizontal surface tends to collect stuff. It works well but the 3 vacuum stations are a bit overkill for me so a smaller unit would probably be better for my situation. It is a very solid and stable platform that is easy to move around the shop. The adjustable height feature is an absolute necessity now that I have had it and would never do without it. The accessories are a bit overpriced IMO but I guess you have to pay to play. The only item that I have not been thrilled with is the optional small vacuum pod as it tends to vibrate when sanding an item that is held (probably due to the limited clamping area). Bottom line, I would buy it again. Steve
@@extremewoodworker thanks for the reply- I’m going with the two vac pods on the adjustable bar that holds them in plane for now . Yes expensive but worth it is the general feeling from users. You have a good reputation for making wooden items to a high standard using the finest tools , I know some more woodwork projects would get the viewers back - cnc seems to be dividing the woodworking community!!
@@CreativeCarpentry David - you will enjoy the Barth for sure. Of the 130 or so videos I have on RUclips, approximately 20 are woodworking projects (some multiple parts). Unfortunately, only 1 woodworking project video cracks the top 50 in number of views and that logs in at number 22. Interestingly, the top video I have has little to do with woodworking and comes in at nearly 550K views. Generally, what people are viewing are tool reviews / tool advice, jigs and techniques in that order. Woodworking projects come in dead last and my channel does not appear to be an outlier in this respect as other RUclipsrs have observed the same on their channels (CNC or not). While I would rather make a project video than anything else, the effort to make a video can easily double the amount of time it takes to complete a project and the fact remains that relatively few will even watch it. While this can be discouraging, there is usually enough positive feedback from viewers to continue moving forward. Steve
I have a Crazy Horse Dolly (in Portugal), purchased from Larry Lee in 2019. Any idea what happened? - the web site disappeared. We love "Dolly" in the workshop - mostly used for loading big sheets onto the CNC - couldn't live without it.

Cool saw but i just watched a man spend 5 minutes to make two cuts on a tablesaw.
Why not just build the Crazy Horse Dolly yourself...looks easy peasy
I suppose that would be a possibility if you found a source for the rubber dome. Steve
