So, you mentioned, early in the video, spending months resetting-up your collections in your new planner this year. I know what thats like. I've been bullet journaling for years now too. A way i found around having to re-set up all your collections every year is to put them in one of those thin hobonichi memo pads, then i just slip it's cover in the inside of my main notebook's front or back cover and it moves into new notebooks with me so i dont have to recopy them every year. You've probably seen or heard this before, its not revolutionary 😂, but i thought I'd mention it just incase you haven't. I've fallen behind in past bullet journals for this reason, too, before i started keeping a dedicated reference notebook alongside my yearly bujo. ❤️ ok, back to your video! ❤
I was thinking the exact same things youre thinking back in January of this year, i had the exact same thought about rings, even though ive tried rings multiple times before and they never worked out for me, well, i went ahead and jumped into them, it was great for the first month or two, cuz it was new, but slowly all the things that really bother me about rings started to add up, writing on the pages next to the rings REALLY makes you miss a bound book, having to print and cut pages all the time gets really annoying really fast, seriously, who has time for that? Then theres the ease of moving things around and trying new inserts, its a double edge sword, i gave it 7 full months and went i finally gave up i was no closer to feeling settled in a ring system than when i started, it ended upbeing a constant state of planner flux for me, its TOO easy to completely change everything and it ends up giving me a feeling of it all being very temporary and disposable. I just dont get along with rings 😂. If youre going to try them i highly suggest doing it BEFORE 2025, i wish i hadnt switched in the middle of a year like i did.
So your comments about your books and videos notes all over your book is something that I have struggled with. But... I saw (for the life of me I can't find the video I watched) where someone used the months of their Hobonichi Cousin as sections of a notebook. So if you did that.... you could use the January daily pages as a whole section of notes on books etc... and if you needed another section because you ran out of room, you have 12 sections. Yes, if you had a journal or whatever you would have to date the page but then the days become page numbers and the perpetual calendar really could be a calendex. This is what I am contemplating doing with my Sterling Ink Common Planner in 2025.
@@senoritachapmanI bought a 2023 cousin on eBay just so I could low stakes test the theory for the rest of the year. It’s a simple but genius solution and I don’t know why I never thought of it.
For my weeks, I used these tabs by Diversebee from Amazon: a.co/d/hfR4C3x and the tabs in my Hon are the index stickers by Midori from Jet Pens I believe!

That’s a great idea! Definitely something to consider for next year :D
I came to suggest the same thing. I've been thinking about whether this would work for me.

If sterling ink just had onyx/black for all them I would use all of them.
What type of printer do you use to get those crisp images?
I use the Epson EcoTank ET-8550. It has a pricey upfront cost but I haven’t made a dent in the ink yet even after printing quite a few 4x6 photos!
Where are your monthly tabs from
