The best people are those living in my generation, and then those who will follow them, and then those who will follow the latter. ~ [Sahih al-Bukhari]
The first three generations of Islam were the closest to the era of our beloved Prophet Muḥammad (ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam) and the period of revelation, and so these are the best embodiment of the Quranic message and Prophetic Sunnah. A pristine authentic Islam that we are commanded to follow.
In this short video clip Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi is asked if it is true that he has left the way of the Salaf (Pious Predecessors) of Islam.

Absolutely hit hammer on the nail Alhamdulillah. Salafi's' talk about Aqeedah as if the Aqeedah they follow is the only way. But they ignore the fact that the Aqeedah they follow is in accordance with the understanding of Ibn Taymiyyah. They also ignore the fact that he differed with the vast majority of Scholars in his understanding of Aqeedah from the Salaf to the present day. He differed from the Ijma (consensus). Now I only have to mention a few greats he differed from and you will understand - Imaam Tahawi, the 4 Mujtahid Imaams, Imaam Nawawi, Ibn Hajar Asqalani and many many more. So are they all wrong but Ibn Taymiyyah is right? You decide. Don't just learn from pseudo Salafi scholars. Broaden your knowledge and your eyes will open InshaAllah.

When you call yourself salafi you are not attributing yourself to the 'present-day salafis', in reality you are actually just attributing and attaching yourself to THE SALAF. If Yasir Qadhi's understanding of somewhat not calling yourself salafi and rather just abiding by to the actual salaf is applied all over the board, then we shouldn't even call ourselves Muslims, since it also has a so-called "negative connotation" in the West. Also, when you label yourself Muslim, you are attributing yourself to the religion of Islam, not the 'present-day" Muslims which are of all sorts, whether violent, harsh, extreme or otherwise. If you call yourself salafi, and so does another, rather 'harsh', 'evil' person, doesn't necessitate that there is a problem with salafiyyah in and within itself, rather the latter person is giving salafiyyah a bad name and not the other way round. Same goes with calling yourself Muslim.

I have a kestion to Dr Yasir and i don't know if he repond to youtube comments but i hope i'll get an answer. By the way my kestion isn't related to the video. I'm a young man and i'm growing old and i see good people around me becoming bad, and if affects me a lot because they were good people and they were the last people i was expecting them to turn into bad ones. My knowledge on religion is limited but from what i know we are born innocent. So what choice do we have in life if the only thing that you can do is to turn bad? What does it mean to become good? If doing good is working, i know a lot who works by day and commit sin by night... I remember the coran saying that heaven is for those who wait, but can you do something other than waiting in life? If not, i don't understand why there is evil if allah wants us to wait... I mean, not everyone has a strong iman, and i'm tired of seeing the people that i love turning into bad persons...

Aslmkm wrb dear brother in Islam,
I hope this message finds you in good health and iman.
First off, ask Allah for Hidayah--for the right guidance. Offer your 5 times of salah at the right time, recite Quran daily and In Sha Allah you will start seeing good changes in you. Allah knows everyone's niyah and we can't really judge anyone. After all, what right do we have to judge anyone? I see loads of people arguing in the comments section and it breaks my heart.
Never think that you are better than someone . A person might commit the biggest sins and you would think that you're better than him/her but you never know, if Allah gives them hidayah, they might be an even better person than you Subhan Allah!
Everyday, our Muslim Ummah is getting divided. Remember, this is what our enemies want. Us being soooo divided that there's no coming back. We all believe in One God--Allah and believe that Prophet Mohammed SAW was the last messenger so why the distinction then?
I urge you to offer your 5 prayers at the right time, dear brother, believe me, you WILL note a difference in your character and daily recite Quran if you can, indeed it is recommended to finish one whole Quran in a month! And of course, do dhikr of Allah daily, it will increase the love for Allah in your heart. And to strengthen your iman, daily recite the kalima as many times as you can: LA ILAHA ILLALLAH MUHAMMADUR RASULULLAH. Recite 100 times Astaghfirullah and the Most beloved to Allah SWT is reciting Subhanallahil Adheemi Wabihamdihi.
Daily recite durood abundantly and sincerely on Prophet Mohammed SAW. For every durood that a person sends, Almighty Allah blesses him ten times, ten of his sins are forgiven, and he is increased ten times in stages. I can't even tell you how manyyy benefits there are for sending duroods. We get barakah in our time, our difficulties are eased, eradicates poverty and hunger, huge reward and the list goes on.
Ask Allah SWT to protect you from committing any shirk, bid'ah and all other forms of major and minor sins. The utmost important thing is to be daily grateful to Allah SWT. Be good to your parents--obey them. Be good to your family, friends, neighbors. Try to give as much charity as you can.
All you can do for your friends is advise them daily and pray for them. Do not lose hope in the power of dua'. Certainly, Allah SWT is the only one who can guide them. Urge them to turn to Allah for repentance. It's never too late. Allah SWT forgives the sins even if they are equal to the foam of the sea.
Understand the Quran and act upon it. I would suggest Ma'riful Quran for the tafsir. You will find inner peace and a life full of bliss when you follow the sunnah of our beloved Prophet Mohammed SAW.
I don't know if you are an urdu speaker or at least can understand it, otherwise I would have suggested listening to people like Maulana Tariq Jamil damat barakatuhum, Hazrat Zulfiqar Naqshbandi damat barakatuhum and manyyy others.
Alhumdulillah, I'm truly blessed to have a father who is an Aalim and I myself am a student of knowledge. I am seeking ilm from a website of Hazrat Zulfiqar Naqshbandi DB known as Emahad. They offer Aalim and Aalimah course in both Urdu and English.
I pray that May Allah give you health, happiness, love and peace. May HE guide you on the right path, bestow on you His blessings, ease all your worldly problems, give you the opportunity to remember to be grateful to Him, earn as many good deeds as you can, protect you from all the evils that He has created and grant you success in this world and in the hereafter Ameen Ya Rab :)

Assalamo aleykom, my dear brother. I love you in God. In many Quranic verses and hadiths, Muslims are asked to be patient. And patient doesn't mean staying inactive and passive. We are requested to do our best and we will get the good outcome. "O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer.
Indeed, Allah is with the patient." (Qur'an, 2:153) "...indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account." (Qur'an, 39:10) "...and Allah loves the steadfast." (Qur'an, 3:146) “And Allah loves As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.).” (Al-Imran 3:146). Baraka Allah fik. Allahumma Salli ala Muhammad.

Well what about the term Sunni or Shia 🤔

    • @NazmusLabs
      @NazmusLabs 3 года назад

Edit: I know you asked about the reason for using the TERMS Sunni & Shia. I addressed that issue as well on the last couple of paragraphs; so rest assured I knowing I will get to that.
Well, Sunni means we follow the
Sunnahs of the Prophet ﷺ. And the term Sunni doesn’t have the problems mentioned in the video (I.e. bad associations and what not).
Secondly, those following Sunni Islam makes up more than 90% of all of Muslims, so Sunni essentially includes over 9/10 of all Muslims in the entire earth! So, Sunni Islam is not a sect of Islam, but rather it’s the mainstream Islam.
The Prophet, Muhammad ﷺ said that when it comes to the sects of Islam, the one that is followed by the majority of the Ummah is the most correct one. So our Prophet himself essentially points us to Sunni Islam as being the purest form Islam.
Thirdly, and I think this is what you were concerned about most: why do we use the TERM Sunni. Shouldn’t we just call ourselves Muslims? I used to ask this very question years ago. But, there is a valid reason to use the term Sunni (see next paragraph)
If we just called Sunni Islam, “Islam”, that would indirectly infer that anything other than Sunni Islam is NOT Islam (AUDHUBILLAH!) Shia Islam, though perhaps not the most purest forms of Islam, still falls under the fold of Islam because people who follow that sect still believe in the six articles of faith and the five pillars of Islam.
So if we call Sunni Muslims, muslims, it can imply that non sunni muslims are non-muslims, which is very dangerous because calling a Muslim a non-believer can lead us being in Jahannam. May Allah protect us.
The term Sunni is useful also for marriage purposes. If you want to get married, and you want to marry, you would naturally want to know what their beliefs are. If someone says they are Muslim, that in it self doesn’t always give sufficient information. For instance, Shia Muslims typically have their own mosques. So that might be a deciding factor in choosing a spouse.
Hope all that made sense. And Allah knows best.

To all the youth and revert Muslims please avoid getting deceived by the terms Quran and Hadith which the present day salafis arrogantly claim to follow. They appeared in the last 200-300 years and just like our Shia cousins, who have been around for much longer, they find beef with many of the true salaf assaliheen. For instance they disagree with Umar radhiallahu anhu in several matters! The shias go a lot further when it comes to the sahaba radhiallahu anhum.
They disagree with most of the traditional Ahle sunnah scholars many of whom were from the generations the Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wa aalihi wasallam had said were among the best of his ummah. They reject taqleed of the Ahle sunnah waljamaah scholars yet happily accept the taqleed of their recent scholars such as Albaani-without question! Like most other divisive groups this group started during the last years of the British empire although they would swear they have been around much longer and only follow the Quran and Hadith. One of their closest groups actually call themselves the Ahle Hadith.

@Laila Hussein Those who a glitch in the thinking machinery can never differentiate good from bad.Imams never said follow us blindly usually refers to taqleed ."Any thing which goes against our fatwa ,should be thrown on wall " is the advice of all the great imams of first three generation .Any one who follows any other person blindly( taqleed) in Islam can never be an Alim. There are so many people who claim " we follow Quran & hadith".But when observed keenly ,are making their non_sense enterpretations ,in actual means against the way of Salaf.Nothing has been concealed by salafis .Every thing is open to public. However if any one commits any mistake anywhere, is pointed out and rejected. One more thing the people who have been dragged away from Saudi Arabia by our beloved Prophet (saw) will always speak against residents of that pious land.Actually the quality of Bani Israeal is they followed their ancestors blindly and mixed truth with falsehood .When they were asked for proof,by one or the other pretext they averted the matter.Mushriks ( pagans ) had made their imams"rub".

@Laila Hussein No,it is not like that u r getting .Imams hv done a great work for Islam. We cannot neglect their service, that will be total ignorance .But the problem arises when any thing is found contradictory with the Quran and authentic hadith. If u see the islamic history u will find there are the occasions when SAHABAS(ra) changed their opinion /acts when they found the solution from beloved Prophet(saw). But now what we see follower's of Imams hv attached so many thing with their name.Imam Malik (r) pointed towards grave of Prophet (saw) and said"any persons saying in Islam could be right or wrong but there is only one Personality in the whole universe whose Saying is always right(haq)that is this Engraved ONE (saw)." TO understand islamis one should hv knoldge of four things 1.Quran 2.Authentic Ahadith 3.Ijma 4.Qiyass.But the first and for most foremost preference should be given to first two and irony is that it is given to second two. Moreover the meaning of Ijma is misinterpreted ,it has its own rules in fiqh.It is a joint consensus among the research scholars and not merely among famous and followed ones.

Ibn Taymiyyah did not adhere to that position because he took the LITERAL meaning of the asma wa sifat and thus interpret it. message to Yasir Qadhi and especially to the Salafis/ Wahabis
Please Yasir Qadhi I know you have some knowledge why don`t you seperate from the Salfis creed. How can you follow such people as Salafis and Wahabis... Please don`t make the same mistakes as your teacher did. You are still alive while they have gone and won`t come back. ----
    -------
The question is why have Salafis gone to the extreme. It doesn`t matter if they don`t call themselves Salafies anymore. They will stay as the same. They follow blind Ibn Taymiyya, Ibn Qayyim, Uthaymiin, ibn Baz and so on. They can only mention a few people but from the time of the prophet until now there were more than thousands and thousand of scholars.
What all of them have in common is their (false) creed. They are punished by Allah for it in this world and the next world. Why?
Because they don`t follow Quran and Sunnah as the way the pious predeceases understood.
There 2.000.000.000 Muslims in the world and only 1-2% are Salafis/Wahabis and they believe to have the right creed. They really believe that they are the only people who are truly guided.
The only people in the world who can be identified to Al-Qaida, Osama bin Laden, and the well know ISIS are Salafis and Wahabis. They all have the same creed and method of interpreting the Quran and Sunnah. They don`t have any knowledge in islamic law.
Please brother Yasir Qadhi. If anything of what I said is wrong then correct me.
I don`t want to attack somebody but stop this nonsense. You Salafis are the worst come back to Quran and Sunnah as the pious people like
The for Imam: Imam Ash-Shafii- Abu Hanifa, Maliki, Hanbali, Nawawi, Razi, Bayhaqi, Abu Dawuud, Muslim, Rafi, Al-kurdi al Maliki, Al-Muzani, there are endless scholars but you people have only 2 scholars who are known to have some knowledge and to be righteous in A3mal.

All of these people have the same creed. And only two of them are scholars ibn Taymiyyah and ibn Qayim. But they have such terrible sayings about Allah.
      For example: ruclips.net/video/UTO-lnCMWLY/видео.html
They Wahabis and some Salafis are worse sometimes they claim that Allahs has:
      2 Hands,
      2 Eyes,
      golden Shoes,
every night he comes down from the sky to the earth (so he is moving),
he above the throne literally (some even say, he sitting on the throne),
      he has a shape,
      he has a face,
that the universe or the throne of allah existed always with allah
      and more...
that why Allah punished them in this world. They have really bad behavior, they are aggressive and violent people. They kill people over all the world -Muslims and non-Muslims.
