    Thank you fort the template! This thing was quite the challenge, since I don't have the neopreme (had some wood glue) and half of my paints were dry, the thick foam was hard and the slim was floppy :D. So I'll have to do it again soon. The outcome became quite excitnig, so I'm happy. 😊

    • @ModulusProps
      @ModulusProps  11 месяцев назад

      That's great! You can definitely use other materials instead of neoprene. I've seen people use white glue, wood glue, roof sealer, Mod Podge, or even just thick acrylic paint. They all work!

    Really incredible work! The cotton batting's such a clever idea and the final finish is incredibly convincing.
    Did you give it any final seal to protect the paint job? Or would that dull the effect?

    • @ModulusProps
      @ModulusProps  5 лет назад +3

      The helmet is not sealed. I usually try to avoid a final sealer if I can, because it can take depth out of the paint job when using a mix of glossy and flat colors.

    Amazing. Cotton technique blew my mind. Any idea what the total cost of this project would be?

    • @ModulusProps
      @ModulusProps  5 лет назад +4

      Good question. Using the same materials as I did, it would be about $75 total for a couple sheets of foam, a pint of neoprene, some cotton batting, and a few bottles of acrylic paint -- and you'd have a bunch of material left over for more projects. For a more economical way, I think you could keep it around $25 if you use low-cost foam floor mats, a bag of cotton balls, Mod Podge instead of neoprene, and some basic craft acrylics.

    • @ModulusProps

    What should I scale this to to print on normal 8.5×11 paper, I didn't bother to look so now I've got some tiny templates, and that does indeed not work

    • @ModulusProps
      @ModulusProps  3 года назад

      To print on 8.5x11 inch paper you'd need to use the multi-sheet printing function of your PDF viewer (i.e. Adobe Reader). If you print at 100% it will be scaled properly for an adult.
