  • Here’s a intruder alarm system that was installed by Westcountry Security in 2006, not long after the company was taken over by Chubb. Therefore, the bell box has ‘Westcountry Security - A Chubb Group Company’ printed on it. Later, Chubb ditched the Westcountry name and stickered over the bell box, keypad and endstation with normal Chubb stickers.
    Devices:
    •Scantronic/Cooper Security 9752 Endstation
    •Scantronic/Cooper Security 9940 Remote Keypad
    •Optex SeQuad SQ-40 Sequential Confirmation Detector
    •Scantronic/Cooper Security 9040 16ohm extension speaker
    •Elmdene HS500M
    Thanks for watching.

      The actual live bell for the system was unfortunately destroyed before I could find time to remove it. It was another HS500 just like this one, but very faded. This one was a dummy box on the side and I just put a live backplate on it.
      The HS500 is not very old. First made in 1998 till sometime in the 2000s or 2010s.

    Alarm muesum, What type of model is my profile picture? and how do I wire up a bell box straight to a battery? + how many volts does it have?

    • @alarmmuseum
      @alarmmuseum  3 месяца назад

      Profile picture is Texecom Odyssey 1.
      You need 6 or 8 core alarm cable (ideally) and you wire it up and test it using a 12v DC power supply or battery.
      All you need is a wire from the terminals in the bell to the battery. For most bell boxes it’s just positive, negative, strobe trigger and siren trigger.

    • @lucasthings
      @lucasthings 3 месяца назад

      Would the strobe and flashing light work? If not please explain, would it work on a 9V battery and is there a tutorial video? Thank you

    • @alarmmuseum
      @alarmmuseum  3 месяца назад

      @@lucasthings depends on the bell box. Most of them will work on 9v but some, such as the Elmdene HS500, need 12v.
      It’s very simple. Each wire is put in the terminal of choice and then you tighten the screw and it’ll stay there.

    • @lucasthings
      @lucasthings 3 месяца назад

      So it should say the siren and ect? + I want to use texecom products for the odyssey 1, which parts do I need and how shall I wire it up
      and also I want to use these parts, texecom odysee 1, texecom veritas R8 and capture 15, will it work? do I need an expander

    • @alarmmuseum
      @alarmmuseum  3 месяца назад

      No you don’t need an expander. All those devices are universal so they will work with most panels.

  • @SafetyDevice13
    @SafetyDevice13 3 месяца назад

    I've recently installed a scantronic 9853 in my garage but i dont know how to wire the speaker terminals.

    • @alarmmuseum
      @alarmmuseum  3 месяца назад

      You put the two wires from the speaker into the LS and the 12V terminals.
      It can handle a maximum of 2 16ohm speakers wired in parallel.

    • @alarmmuseum

      Which one is that? Friedland never made their own boxes. Any intruder alarm that has Friedland branding would be made by Novar ED&S, who made all the same equipment for Response, Wickes, Protector and Eclipse wireless alarm kits as well.
