  • The Civic is leaving soon to go to LHT Performance, so I thought it would be a good time to give an update on where we're at with the build and go over all the parts and current wheel setups we have for the car.

  •  3 года назад +80

See, the problem with giving this car away, and its a dream of mine to own a car like this, is security.. Someone like me, who lives in an apartment complex, I would have to go out and pay for public storage at the very least as I do not have a garage. I would likely be targeted as well. If I won this car, I wouldnt tell anyone, and I might have to consider wrapping it or doing something to make it less noticeable for someone like me living close to the hood in Philly. Maybe Id consider stashing it up the Pocono's near my Vacation house and just drive it up there when Im on vacation.. Would def have to consider a ton of things. A car like this would be a bigger target than a Super car in my opinion. At least here where I live.

definitely, clean civics always get stolen

    •  3 года назад +13

@@LuisJimenez-hh4qq Its because they are so easy to steal, and the black market is huge for their parts. They are easy and quick to get rid of. I caught a guy last month trying to break into my TYpe S.. He had a labtop and a Kpro with him.. Thats how crazy these thieves are getting with these Honda's.. I have a really good security system and wireless kill switch, so I can disable the car from my phone or computer. There is a guy "Coda5610", who bought a $40,000 700whp RSX, thing got stolen a week later.. Likely because put too much info out there about it.

    •  3 года назад +1

@@Was-here2 that would suck tho to win such a beautiful car then sell it.. And I'd imagine this car would be a nightmare to sell for someone like me.. Like I dont have pull or connections with wealthier collectors and Id obviously want a fair price.. I wouldnt even know where to start with price, but its a $130,000 builds that would be lucky to see 40K in my opinion to the right buyer. I know its a super low mile Em1 chassis, so even those without work go for upwards of 10K.. With that supsension, sound system, paint, and everything else, Id want at least 40 for it.. But there may be a handful of people willing to pay that.

Had Volks, Sparco Seats, Greddy Evo and a few other bolt ons. I think I would still have it if not for the total loss. The first time it was stolen, I lost the wheels and seats and then when it was stolen a second time, they took it all... Engine, Transmission, fenders, you name it :(

Two suggestions although you already discarded the first one...
    1. ITR or GSR subframe and steering rack.
    2. Since you are getting the JDM ITR Swap you could consider performing a 5 lug swap and using the 36mm axles.
To go with this and keep making it the most expensive Si you would get
    a) new wheel 15, 16 or 17 wheels
    b) as a bonus you get the 11.1 front and 10.2 rear brakes.
To give this a special touch, I would upgrade the brakes once again to 11.8in RSX-S brakes in the front using new rsxs rotors, whichever spoon caliper kit comes for the Rsxs and new rsx-s front wheel hubs and bearings. I had this set up in the past along with the ITR 1in brake booster and mc which was awesome.
Ok enough , i know it is too late to suggest this, but worth a try if you are tempted.
Love the build, keep it up.

You don't need to change the whole rack and pinion to get a better ratio! Just change the pinion. Get one for an integra and have them put it in when the engine is out. I've heard the 97 itr pinion gives the best ratio but I'm not 100% certain whether that's true or not. I DO know the integra pinion will give a better ratio than stock though. Keep in mind the cutoff-line of JDM headlights is made for driving on the opposite side of the road. That means the elevated portion of the cutoff will be on the traffic side instead of the shoulder side. You may notice less visibility of road signs at night, as well as oncoming traffic sometimes flashing you with their brights (cause they think yours is on). Probably not a problem these days since everyone else is driving SUVs and trucks.

Obviously I would love to own this car, but sadly, security will always be an issue. Part of me hopes you keep it, because all the “little Honda bros” would know it’s safe. Lol. Kinda neat to love vicariously through you. We know the car is in good hands. 🙏🏽

I could see that the tyre wheel combination setup process is driving you nuts, cuz I used to be at work thinking about why certain tyres just don’t go with the wheels I had back then as I never had the crazy choices you do, lol

I really hope it ends up going to someone who will appreciate the amount of time and effort that was put into the build. And above all else, a safe neighborhood.
