CCM Fit System: • NEW 2021 CCM Hockey Sk...
The CCM Tacks XF ice hockey skate is the second-priced point skate in the 2024 Tacks line. This model includes new technology and excellent performance benefits for players who want a high-end skate but at a lower price than the top-of-the-line XF Pro.
CCM has built the Tacks XF with its highly advanced One-Piece Boot Power technology, now featuring Game Ready Fit, just like the XF Pro. Designed for power and acceleration, the game-ready fit is an improved out-of-the-box comfort and fit, designed to take your performance to the next level.
The boot is made with lightweight RFM composite and is engineered for the modern power skater with intense strides looking for explosiveness without restriction. The carbon composite wraps under the boot and because of this, energy is no longer lost or absorbed by a glued and nailed outsole, but instead is now transferred directly through the boot to the ice.
Another new feature in the XF skate adopted from the FT6 is the ADPT comfort tongue. This tongue is lightweight with a metatomic fit and molded lace-bite protection for the perfect combination of fit and performance.
An improvement on this year’s Tack's line is the tendon guard. CCM designed a tendon guard that gives you a better range of motion for a longer stride extension, and faster skating speed.
CCM has incorporated ADPT memory foam inside the skate and footbed for optimal comfort. This memory foam is dense, giving you a customized feel as soon as you put on the skate.
Helping with the custom feel is the Total Dri-Pro liner with responsive foam and Polygiene. The Total-Dri Pro liner is a high-performance moisture-wicking material that keeps your feet dry and skates light. The responsive foam hugs your feet throughout the boot. Polygiene is an antimicrobial treatment that fights odor and bacteria.
Below the skate, you’ll find CCM’s V-STEP Steel runner. This is the highest quality of steel, carefully polished to obtain a mirror image for a sharper edge, superior glide, and increased skating speed.
Rounding out the XF skate is the Speedblade XS Holder with an enhanced dial. The dial on the quick-release holder is 136% larger than before due to its wider radius and improved geometry. The enriched texturization and premium materials give you a superior grip to change out your steel effortlessly.
CCM has poured several new technologies into the 2024 XF Tacks skate that focuses on power and explosiveness. If you’re looking for a high-end skate that will give you an edge with some top features at a lower price point, the XF skate is for you.
Thanks, pure hockey service did let me get another pair. Hopefully this boot wont have issues too.
Hopefully not!
My experience with the pro is that the shell is brittle. Maybe the xf is not brittle. My xf pros shattered in the heel down to the carbon. Most expensive skates I’ve bought, least durable I’ve ever owned. Maybe they would be good figure skates but not made for contact hockey.
Sorry to hear they cracked. If you purchased them within 90 days, they may be under warranty. Please reach out to customerservice@purehockey.com or call us at 866-787-3462. Thanks!
I’m just a tier 4-5 player, my RBK 7.5 wide skates finally died after years of service.
What type of skate should I be looking for nowadays.
I don’t want to buy a skate that’s made for an elite skater and is too much skate for me and my low skill level.
The Tacks XF80 or XF90 would be good options if you are looking for a CCM skate. Those are both mid-price point skates. Unfortunately, we only have a wide fit in the XF90. Here is the link for senior wide skates in CCM - www.purehockey.com/c/ccm-hockey-skates?div_main_desc=Senior&sort=salepricedesc&width=Wide. If you're looking at Bauer, the M40 or the X4 skates would be a good mid-price point skate - www.purehockey.com/c/bauer-hockey-skates?div_main_desc=Senior&sort=salepricedesc&width=EE%2cFIT3&model_name=X4%2cM40. Please reach out to customerservice@purehockey.com if you have any other questions!
I can’t afford these 😂😂
Skates can be expensive, but we do have some great options for skates under $300 - www.purehockey.com/c/ice-hockey-skates-senior?price_sale=7%2c6%2c5%2c4%2c3
I love purchasing from you guys but come on@purehockey
Hockey companies need to slow down on the crazy prices
Lol, i don’t care what you hockey players say “i don’t care about looks” gonna shop for the as-v series after seeing the xf series. 😬
Looks kinda matters. Xf pros is just a american ft6 pro with a stiffness bumped up to a rating of 215. 🤭
Dear; Trevor.. i don’t like the new direction. Keep your two families appearances different.
The Tacks XF Pro and JetSpeed FT6 Pro do have a similar look but the construction does differ. The XF Pro uses FORS Composite in the boot for better impact durability and an improved weight to stiffness ratio compared to the Carbon Composite in the FT6 Pro. The XF Pro also has more internal volume in the midsole with a more snug fit in the heel and ankle. There is a wider tendon guard on the XF Pro that is slightly stiffer than the FT6 Pro. They do have the same tongue, but they went away from the removeable tongue in the XF Pro.
Good explanation, only thing i couldn’t quite understand is that marketing jargon of Fors Composite. But that explanation made sense, it sounds like a significant leap. That gave me a few questions. So, does that means the xf pros are lighter while maintaining it’s predecessors’ stiffness level? Also, would you guys happen to know the weight on xf pros in grams? How does the as-v pro compare to the xf pros? I’ve been looking for a review on the latter but atm, there isn’t any.
