Hi Whitney, this looks like a fun wardrobe with many pops of colour. Your planned projects should compliment your wardrobe beautifully. I have been busy planning my winter wardrobe and am approx half way through my planned projects. It has only just become a bit cooler here and finally we have had some rain - so very happy about that. 🌸
Whitney, yesterday I was looking at your older videos on sewing modules--my pending retirement needs 2 overlapping modules--and WOW have you grown before our eyes.
Jenny, get Whitney a subtle ear mic where you run the wire under her dress. Newscasters frequently 15:42 tuck the batter pack into their bra. As a preacher, I make my pockets with a hidden slit in the seam opposite the inseam pocket opening, battery pack in my pocket, wire runs under my clothes. It will seriously improve your sound quality. In addition to live Sunday worship,, I produce an on-line worship service for my home bound folks weekly, and this is how my sound tech and videographer mic me. Good luck! But your off camera talent is making Whitney look so great on camera!
So much fun to see what you have and how it all goes together, and such fun colors! Love that shawl thing - funny how we forget we have something unless we put it front and center - I just rediscovered a handbag for the summer I totally forgot all about - and I was very happy to find it, too - it was just what I was thinking I needed 😄. Looking forward to seeing your new items, too, when they're done.
I love your wrap, it's lovely. I think it's great that you got to get something hand crafted to add to your own hand crafted wardrobe. I'm in Texas we are already in the low 90's and just looking at that on you made me feel warm and sticky. I actually found a piece of chiffon in a remnant section that was all misshapen and I evened it out and finished the edges and I use that. It's a beautiful golden yellow crinkle chiffon that goes with most of my color palette.
Love your summer plans. Lots of good inspiration. I am starting a summer plan trying to use fabric from my stash. Also trying to sew a dress for a wedding I am attending next month. Crossing my fingers that works out.
I think the reason the Style Arc Posie Knit Top works for you is because the seam that the "sleeve" is sewn into moves onto the bodice; so, the gathering of the top of the "sleeve" gives the illusion of widening your shoulders while the seam the sleeve is inserted into moves down, narrowing the look of the bust line. It would be interesting to see this made into a dress. 🧐 I thought it was kind of funny when you were talking about your colors and your dress melted into the yellow dot on the screen. Spot on! (Sorry - had to say it) 😊 Question: How do you keep track or organize your "Summer Sewing List?" Do you just stack up the fabric and patterns to be cut or do you make a To Do list . . . ?
When I was editing the video, I noticed my dress blending into the dot as well 😂. As far as organizing my sewing. I have a general "to-do" list of things I want to make and then I parcel that out each week. I like to batch cut a few things so they are all ready to sew up when I get time to sit at the machine!
Your colors are so happy. I haven’t really made any summer sewing plans as of yet. I was waiting for the capsule guide from everyday style to release and see what she has in that before making my plans.
Great capsule, love the colours! Faves? The posie- you suit it!, the salmon aria (? sp), the caprisce !(Fabric and pattern), the long tidal with the woven topper great plans too, love all the fabrics esp anything olive! Tx for all your hard work bringing yhese to our notice, lots of inspiration..
Lots of eye candy. The Style Arc top with the ruffle has wonderful shape. The line drawings make me wonder if something similar could be done with a full flutter sleeve.
@@TomKatStitchery I was just looking at the Posie pattern. It naturally creates an hourglass with the seaming. I think this is why it is so successful on various bodies. I do not own the pattern but I am stalking their site. Have a great day!
I love that LN Tidal Dress. And those blue flats are to die for!! You always make me want to run to my pattern list and fabric stash and sew up a storm after these Capsule planning videos! I am organizing my fabric stash in my new stash hub app and getting rid of the fabrics that are so not my colors. Had my colors done for Mother's Day and now feel so "on track"!
Wow! I love the gold eyelet jersey ruffled top on you. I’ve often heard you say that you should not put ruffles on top because you’re top-heavy, but I think you should ignore whoever told you that advice. That whole outfit with the fun little flirty skirt looks tremendous on you! Thank you for these videos. As a plus sized person, it is so great to see sewing patterns and clothes on all kinds of bodies.
Love all your things you are planning to make. The colors are outstanding. As I was sitting here watching your video my fabric I ordered for my next project arrived. I’m getting ready to make the pants form from bootstrap dress forms. Now to read up on how to prep my duck canvas.
Whitney, by bust is just large enough to know the boat neck tee style can be tight across the front. I suggest you proceed with caution if the stripe knit doesn't have much stretch, greater than 40%
I'll check the pattern for the stretch percentage, because you're correct. If the pattern is drafted for a fabric with more stretch than the fabric has, it will be tight!
I just snagged a piece of white stretch denim to make another Taroka skirt. I am sizing up because I want it to hang on my hips rather than sit at my natural waist, plus I will add a couple of inches to the length. I made a dress similar to yours (TNT pattern) out of a cotton/spandex from Purple Seamstress that reminds me of a Lily Pulitzer fabric. Dresses are more comfortable in summer!
Hi Whitney. There was a lot of super casual stuff here so I was a little disappointed. I like to be a bit more put together than a t shirt. And all this casual stuff is kinder everywhere since the pandemic. We all need to be a bit more stylish than a t shirt. I don't mind a nice pair of shorts but again this shorts were kinder too casual. But thanks for sharing hopefully you will be making some more stylish stuff like you did when Italy inspired you ❤
So what I've learned about myself is that I tend to wear more casual clothes and not reach for the more formal things. And I want to wear what I make--a lot! So my everyday wardrobe is more casual and I will make more formal clothes occasionally.
My husband just walked in and asked me if I had told you yet how good your hair looks lately! He has literally walked in and mentioned your hair about the last 3 videos. :)
My mom's lowest ribs sat on top of her hip bones so she had NO waist so as she aged her styles really changed. But in pictures her wedding dress (1945) had a peplum to fake a waist. In today's sizing it measures a "2". She was very stylish and learned to enhance the illusion of her waist.😊
I golf, bike, and urban hike (walk around) in skorts. At last count I have 24 of them. Every skirt I made in the last couple years is a skort. I just love wearing them instead of yoga Capri's all summer or shorts. It's the first thing I scout out in a thrift store and discounter. My first golf of the year last month I bought a sleeve of fluorescent pretty pink balls and a tiger striped skort. Only bought it before heading out on the course(on a discount rack) because I forgot to pack one for a spring road trip to visit gkids. Threw the golf bag in the car but forgot all the golf attire. Duhhhh Waiting to see what you come up with for a golfing capsule that you mentioned you might do. Wonder if I've already got the patterns.
I'm not really a bag person, but I LOVE that woven bag you got in NY. Who did you say that designer was? Also, I have that same belt bag from Amazon and I love it too! Mine is in a beautiful dark-ish blue color. Seriously one of my best Amazon purchases.
Allergies: have you tired eating raw unfiltered honey? Local. ( I remember hearing within 200 miles). This year I tried a small spoonful every day. I am amazed at how well it has worked for me. Coworkers say they put it in their coffee.
I hope I wasn't repeating myself. I want to pretty much copy your capsule wardrobe. 😄Love the summer colors! Will be printing the wardrobe checklist today.
The coral linen that I used for the button up shirt and the skort is linen I grabbed off of Destashify. The coral linen I used for the shorts is from StyleMaker fabric!
Hello and welcome! I think my favorite pants/trouser pattern is the Itch to Stitch Upland trousers. I REALLY love Itch to Stitch bottoms as they fit me really well. For summer, I really love their Belize shorts.
WOW Whitney, I love this dress on you! The length and flare of the skirt portion is so flattering on you. It's just perfect! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!!
I like the new look and music of your intro 😊
Thank you!!
Thanks for updating the intro music. Fresh new vibe. Also that yellow dress is wonderful.
Glad you like it!

How about a Fall 2024 module challenge?
Thanks for all the comments, Fall 2024 module challenge could be fun!
Happy you are bringing in the blue! Beautiful wardrobe 😅
Me too!
Wow, you continue to be a busy lady! So glad you got your sew-jo back! For you and for us! 😉😃
Thank you!!
Olive green is great on you!!! Wish I could wear that color!❤
It's great for pants/skirts/bottoms
So much fun to see what you have and how it all goes together, and such fun colors! I really love your longer hair. So very pretty. Totally get the allergies this year. Not enough pills to stop it!
Thank you, Joy! I'm enjoying having it longer again as well!

Agree, I was thinking a bateau neckline on tees might be a good choice as well, the focus moves to the face.

Love ballet flats!!!❤❤❤
They are pretty fun!
Love, love, love your capsule wardrobe videos. Helps me to plan my seasonal sewing ❤️
I'm so glad it is helpful

The red tank and the flowy skirt is such a cute outfit!
Thank you!
Pretty and unusual orange woven wrap.
Thanks!

@@patgottshalk8808 that’s a great point! That would make sense why it seems to work!
that long Love Notions skirt is a winner on you!
Me too!
Just wanted to say that applying fold over elastic with the cover stitch machine is magic. Thanks for sharing
You are so welcome!
You look beautiful and I didn't even notice your voice until you said something! I really love that dress you're wearing.
Thank you so much
Love the blue shade! It will go perfectly with the other colors. Fabulous how all the items go together. Can't wait to see what you make next! 🌹🌻💞💐🌄🥰
Thank you!!

How exciting! You're going to be tearing through that stash now that you have it organized and have unlocked fit! I can't wait to see what you do!
Your summer palette says island sunsets and Margaritas. Your new music is a nice change too.
Thank you!

I took a look at the rack and thought popsicles and watermelon margaritas
That does scream summer!

The pants look like seersucker to me If they don't wrinkle much, they probably are. Great video.
Thank you!
Where is the coral linen fabric from ? Thx
The coral linen that I used for the button up shirt and the skort is linen I grabbed off of Destashify. The coral linen I used for the shorts is from StyleMaker fabric!
Why not make yourself some jeans shorts out of one of the recent jeans patterns you’ve made?
Great idea!
New subscriber here. What is your favorite pants pattern? I’m a similar shape and need some help? Janey
Hello and welcome! I think my favorite pants/trouser pattern is the Itch to Stitch Upland trousers. I REALLY love Itch to Stitch bottoms as they fit me really well. For summer, I really love their Belize shorts.
? i had my colors done many years ago which is summer. Do you know where I can find a summer Pallette?
Try searching on Pinterest or Amazon for lots of images. Good luck!
