That thing sounds pretty great especially for a new guitar. I think the Reimagined D28 standard is forward shifted non scalloped braces, but the HD28V is both forward shifted and scalloped. I like the D28 because the forward shifting gives some bass but the straight braces provide some focus and midrange. I like satin guitars and this one is less expensive so it's a win for everyone. Cheers from Oklahoma!
@@studio1vintageguitarsCains Ballroom is about 20 minutes from where I grew up!! It's such a cool place. I am loving the channel, especially all the Martin guitars. I have a 2019 D18 standard and a Custom Authentic D28 1937 with the Indian Rosewood back and sides and adjustable truss rod. Both are fantastic guitars.
@@studio1vintageguitars Hi, you mention they have been offering the thin finish models. Do you mean gloss finish models that are extra thin not sure what you mean or what models they are named by? thanks
Real nice. I played one of these models at our local shop the other day for the second time and I was impressed by the feel and the sound. Forward shifted X brace with tapered bracing instead of scalloped bracing, if I’m not mistaken. Lovely demo and presentation as all of your video are. Thanks Nick. 🎧
The best part of your reviews is that you play different songs every time. So many other reviewers play exactly the same riffs every time. You have a diverse musical vocabulary that is greatly appreciated and brings out different aspects of the instruments. It's nice to get a break at well from the incessant bluegrass only review guys. Hope to come visit you guys from Texas someday. Thank you!
I'd love a standard like this with hide glue, v neck, wood binding, and an alpine top. And just play the hell out of it and let it age. You don't need super light scalloped bracing.
That last song was very cool. Guitar sounds as good as the player and you did it justice.
Shooter! Thank you, sir. I always have to pay tribute to the great master guitarist. Gone but not forgotten!
REALLY like the satin finish a lot. Plus the simple appointments.
Glad you like it. Come and check it out in the store sometime!
Nice with that X-brace right near the sound hole.
Glad you enjoy!

That's Michael Hedges for you, one of the greatest acoustic guitarists of all time; song is Aerial Boundaries, check out Rickover's Dream too!

弾きながら、揺らしてはしゃぐ気持ちがよく解ります。凄いですよね。美しい響きの広がりですよね。圧巻される音色ですね。

Michael Hedges "Layover". Thanks for listening!
Que buen video y demostración, solo tengo una duda. Hay electroacústica esta versión D28 Satin ?
Gracias! The D-28 satin does not come with electronics, but can easily be installed aftermarket.

You've got great taste! Would love to hear that custom combination.
