sl st - slip stitch
st - stitch
sts - stitches
Cat Body Pattern:
ch 5
R1: 1sc inc, 1sc, 1sc, 1sn inc = 6sc
R2: ch1, turn, 1sc each 6sts = 6sc
R3: ch1, turn, 1sc each 6sts = 6sc
R4: ch1, turn, sc2tog, 1sc, 1sc, sc2tog = 4sc
R5: ch1, turn, 1sc each 4sts = 4sc
R6: ch1, turn, 1sc each 4sts = 4sc
R7: ch1, turn, 1sc, sc2tog, 1sc = 3sc
R8: ch1, turn, 1sc inc, 1sc, 1sc inc = 5sc
R9: ch1, turn, 1 sc each 5sts = 5sc
What does "R1/SC inc/SC /ch/sc2tog/Sts" mean??

• *R* stands for Row, so R1 is the first row
• *Sc* stands for single crochet AND
• *inc* stands for increase, you basically do two single crochets in one stitch
• *Ch* is for chain, ch1 means one chain
• in *sc2tog* you 'single crochet 2 stitches together'
• *sts* stands for stitches
In short:
• R = row
• sc = single crochet
• inc = increase
• ch = chain
• sc2tog = decrease
• sts = stitches

Place marker in 5th chain
R1: 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook
place marker in 1st st of R1
sc in same stitch (sc inc)

Pass on this pattern. Instructions aren't clear and I'm not a beginner yet this was very frustrating for me. Just saving someone else wasted time and effort.
