This is 👌 and EXACTLY what I want to do! I am 52 and ready for a change. I have been solo traveling/backpacking internationally for 20+ years, visited close to 40 different countries and ready to move internationally for sure! I work in Healthcare and education (adult school) and need to find a way to make it work for me employment wise. I am looking at residing in Indonesia. Spent 2.5 weeks there and had the BEST time with the culture, people, food, weather.
Definitely can see myself residing there. Any suggestions?
Your Santorini trip looked fabulous as well. I spent 3 weeks backpacking in Greece in 2008 and enjoyed it all, (Athens, Mykonos, Crete, Samos) with Santorini definitely being a highlight. Soooo beautiful!

Great to see that another person my age wants to travel and escape the rat race. Negotiating the WFH job is impossible in my place. My boss has an obsolete mindset, she is even setting in person meeting in the midst of a pandemic. But how do you work around the visa requirment for countries? I have talked with my employer about it but you cant get a work visa unless your company has an office in your desired location. If your working on a tourist visa thats not allowed.

Exactly. I think there is a lot of misinformation in this video. The other consideration is your employer has to pay taxes to the local tax authority if you work from there, which is why pretty much no company allows this unless they are completely transferring you abroad to that specific foreign office. If there is no business set up with the local tax authority they won't even consider it. Too much oversimplification of working abroad in this video without considering the business and visa ramifications.

The problem is that all these jobs you are talking about require experience. That just put a damper on my enthusiasm. I can learn social media marekting but if you look at the job description, you will feel that you don't qualify for that because they are looking for 5 years of experience and so. Give us some other ideas where experience does not matter. Ghost writing is not for me. I am not a writer. Copy-writing/editing needs special skills and experience. I am not that. What else can I do? What can I sell online to make some money? How did you start your online travel agency? How did you come up with that idea? How did you develop your business model? Talk about that experience. It will give us pointer on starting our own venture (in some other area).

If you want to learn some thing to be done online you may have to do some research. Graphic design is to be the most lucrative if you were willing to learn Photoshop and Canva. I’ve seen some self-taught graphic designers it’s about wanting to learn it in understanding was happening. And also don’t forget to follow the trends. So social media will be your best friend with that job. Marketing for someone else who has a small business is a thing. So mainly business marketing and graphic design is the two key jobs I see that a lot of people have now. So I would start in the community or your social medias then begin to apply for these I want a qualified individual to work for me. There honestly could take about 2 to 5 years in total to have a portfolio with both of those ideas.

So yeah it’s gonna be a lot of work and research but to learn a new skill it does take time. I’m in the same boat where I want extra income but struggling to figure out what it is due to my lack of skill in social media. I didn’t go to college so I am working with what I see this trending in the stories of people who didn’t go to college either that are still young and figuring out a path on social media.

You really can't. No company will allow you to work abroad because it creates tax liabilities for them with the foreign tax authority. The only way you can work abroad while earning from US clients is to create your own LLC. Lots of questionable advice in this video.

You can't really work from abroad for a company in the US just because they allow you to work remotely. When you work abroad, you create tax liabilities to the foreign tax authority for your employer. There are also potential risk and contractual issues. The chances of a US company allowing you to work abroad remotely are slim to none. Short of actually officially getting transferred abroad, your only option to work abroad remotely while earning your money from US clients is through corp to corp contracts by setting up your own LLC.
