Stop taking these jokes seriously and stop going out of your way to shit talk them, or anyone, in their chats and comments PLEASE. Makes the tf2 community and me look really bad
Obviously Aspen was joking but for a lot of people that don't know her it comes off as actively trying not to enjoy the game and being a fun sponge. I'm sure the stream was great and she seemed like she was having a good time.

it's pretty much been confirmed that around 90% of tf2 players are trade bots who farm for idle drops and only around a 10,000 ish number of people are actual players And ow2 has like a massive playerbase since it has went f2p as well. I'm a tf2 guy but numbers don't lie

As a guy who played both there are moments in OW where I'm just spamming buttons because I'm wondering what on Earth is even happening on my screen with everything in be background.
I’ve played both, can see in both, and despite having 24 players compared to Overwatch’s 12- I mean 10, TF2 is a lot cleaner in visual clutter, despite there being 4 classes that can make fire and explosions.
They both have very easy silhouettes. Tanks are always noticeably bigger than dps or supports, with the exception of Bastion, however Bastion also has more health as well as armor than other low health classes. But you'd never mistake a Tracer for a Reaper or something despite them both being DPS heroes wielding two guns out in front of them, because Tracer is short with thin legs, and a very noticeable blue trail around the chest, while Reaper wears a long cloak around his legs and more bulky extremities.
@@tau-5794 Silhouettes make a very large difference in one's experience of the game, and this is where I'd say that TF2 executes it A LOT better than OW2, simply cause every character is designed to indicate who they are (usually based on the silhouette of the gun, posture or body mass) and what they're doing (displayed via movements that tend to be very exaggerated but noticeable), and while OW2 does have its own aspects of this, some of their characters just don't follow this very well. Besides that, TF2 also makes good use of the standard color palette to kind of direct the player to the enemy's head (usually, the further away the body part is from the character, the darker the chosen color, and if you get closer to the head, more team colors are used).
@@tau-5794 the examples you are using are kind of obvious tho, when i first learned overwatch it was impossible to tell smaller characters apart like kiriko, widow, tracer, mercy (when shes not actively flying), sombra, ashe and cassidy. now that ive played a lot more i can easily tell them apart, but it sucked learning lol
@@pokeydudeYeah. Part of OW's visual mess is the team outlines instead of team colors, which can make it clear who is on each team but at the same time can add more bright colors in an ult-fight.

They're going to bring up the game they're used to, would you not do the same? They're in the same sub-genre, why would comparisons not be made? Like how every platform fighter is "like Smash but different". You tend to compare every game in a certain category to the one you have the most experience in.

5:15 imo loosing "ult" on death is a very good mechanic, the game is more punishing and its harder to get said "ult" therefore when you finnaly get it, its more rewarding. another opinion on ults: A lot of modern games have ults that do crazy stuff while requiring player to just press a button. In tf2 you can also do some crazy stuff (rocket jumping for example (not really an ult but in other games it could be considered as such)), but it requries you to put effort into it.. and not just press a stupid button.
I’ve asked him before, he says tf2 is kinda hard to make content on with people frequently being racist and shit. Plus it’s an active, but pretty old game at this point. Kinda like switching to a bingo stream.

In Mt entire time playing tf2 I only remember like 3 times someone was toxic, and in some of those people actually defended me or took notice. In OW I can get yelled at for having low stats or playing tank and no-one defends me. It's why I'm kinda scared to queue up for tank in comp.
@@mariustan9275 The difference is in ow it is almost always about your stats. In TF2 if you don't sound right, you get harassed. You get called slurs, and sometimes people remember you. Specifically so they can keep it up if they meet you again.

Overwatch and tf2 are my favorite games. So cool to see creators crossover and try both of them. After seeing a bit of the video, maybe they should try sixes. I feel like that would mesh better with their overwatch brains

counterswaps ain't as bad in here as in overwatch cuz like sure a sentry does do well against a scout be he can alvays use his pistol to snipe it from range or abuse it's slow turning speed to peek and take shots at it it's something tracer can't really do against a turrent as easily or at all
Torb is strong into Tracer but Engineer sentry DPS is far higher than Torb's turret. Also the game being 6v6 just means there's fewer people guarding it, which is part of why Engi isn't played in TF2 sixes.
Well it's also 12v12(maybe more) instead of 5v5. A few(1 to 4) players being silly or off meta builds(troldier, pyroshark,fat scout) won't give either team a huge disadvantage.
Sentries are often positioned in a way they can't be shot from far away, if you try to take down a sentry with scout's pistol from a range where it doesn't detects you it's gonna take you like 20 seconds because of the damage falloff, engineer does counter scout, and it's a hard counter
@@gerardol3449i wouldnt say hard counter since scout has a much easier time avoiding sentrys all together compared to pretty much every other class. I would say the only truely unfair matchup in the game would be spy v pyro.
A new update from overwatch 2 responded after this reply by adding a new and awaited pve gamemode which allows heroes to fight not omnics but copy pasted tf2 machine bots. Bug fixes and correction of misspoken character voicelines are needed to be addressed due to the following issues.

I really enjoy both Overwatch and Tf2 and mostly don't care about comparasions about the two, I've actually done it with some friends that played overwatch first so they can understand the game more easily, but idk why the way Aspen talks about the mechanics of tf2 and how she keeps comparing things from overwatch with tf2 just makes the vid a bit more akward to watch, even if she's joking it still feels kind of uncalled for and genuinely seems like she's actively trying to not enjoy the game or just not accepting that both games are very different from one another. I know it wasn't meant to be a topical video on Overwatch vs TF2 but they kinda made it that way. It seemed really hard to defend some things that kept going wrong, but it also felt like they were mostly trying 'not' to enjoy it. Wasn't very funny hearing Overwatch 2 fans talking about a dead game when it takes 20mins to find a game there still.
Fun fact: Valve was considering on adding woman as playable characters in TF2 as shown from early concept art, (Before TF2 was launched in 2007) but they decided not to and we still don't know the reason why. I think it was to be historically accurate as this takes place in the Cold War but it could be for many other reasons, who knows. We probably will never know as TF2 is Valve's neglected child who many get an update some day. Not like it needs one as it still beating all its competition with no support.
in the AUS/NZ late night PUGs back in the day, even against non aus players, frogger held their own, but yeah overall AUS HL these days is about 4 to 5 people on avg
I know it is a joke that there are no female tf2 character but they will be surprised that there are fem tf2 characters that even though they are not in the game that they can be modded in.
When we are asked why we don’t play Overwatch, I feel like my reason is because the gameplay is more balanced to me. I never really felt cheated in any way but in terms of lag when I died. Without a true “ultimate” system, it really made it so that there aren’t really any moves to reward people for bad positioning or make it so people can really get away with it (aside from Übercharge and dead ringer) and make it so they cannot oppress the other team except for spawn camping with stickies. Another reason I like it is the way health is distributed between classes
As much as i play TF2, claiming TF2 is more balanced or fair is the worst joke you could make. Unless you play exclusively on servers without random crits and always with a competent team. TF2 is the more casual and simpler game, but it is the worst in terms of balance.

In OW I can get yelled at for having low stats or playing tank and no-one defends me. It's why I'm kinda scared to queue up for tank in comp.
@@mariustan9275 The difference is in ow it is almost always about your stats. In TF2 if you don't sound right, you get harassed. You get called slurs, and sometimes people remember you. Specifically so they can keep it up if they meet you again.
I feel like overwatch players would really enjoy this game more if there was an actual good tutorial in the game like overwatch. Then they wouldnt be so confused playing the game.

counterswaps ain't as bad in here as in overwatch cuz like sure a sentry does do well against a scout be he can alvays use his pistol to snipe it from range or abuse it's slow turning speed to peek and take shots at it it's something tracer can't really do against a turrent as easily or at all
Torb is strong into Tracer but Engineer sentry DPS is far higher than Torb's turret. Also the game being 6v6 just means there's fewer people guarding it, which is part of why Engi isn't played in TF2 sixes.
Well it's also 12v12(maybe more) instead of 5v5. A few(1 to 4) players being silly or off meta builds(troldier, pyroshark,fat scout) won't give either team a huge disadvantage.
Sentries are often positioned in a way they can't be shot from far away, if you try to take down a sentry with scout's pistol from a range where it doesn't detects you it's gonna take you like 20 seconds because of the damage falloff, engineer does counter scout, and it's a hard counter
@@gerardol3449i wouldnt say hard counter since scout has a much easier time avoiding sentrys all together compared to pretty much every other class. I would say the only truely unfair matchup in the game would be spy v pyro.

A new update from overwatch 2 responded after this reply by adding a new and awaited pve gamemode which allows heroes to fight not omnics but copy pasted tf2 machine bots. Bug fixes and correction of misspoken character voicelines are needed to be addressed due to the following issues.

I really enjoy both Overwatch and Tf2 and mostly don't care about comparasions about the two, I've actually done it with some friends that played overwatch first so they can understand the game more easily, but idk why the way Aspen talks about the mechanics of tf2 and how she keeps comparing things from overwatch with tf2 just makes the vid a bit more akward to watch, even if she's joking it still feels kind of uncalled for and genuinely seems like she's actively trying to not enjoy the game or just not accepting that both games are very different from one another. That being said, I do genuinely enjoy Aspen's content and don't mean anything toxic towards her, it's just that the way she was in the vid made her sound like a fun sponge lol

Fun fact: Valve was considering on adding woman as playable characters in TF2 as shown from early concept art, (Before TF2 was launched in 2007) but they decided not to and we still don't know the reason why. I think it was to be historically accurate as this takes place in the Cold War but it could be for many other reasons, who knows. We probably will never know as TF2 is Valve's neglected child who many get an update some day. Not like it needs one as it still beating all its competition with no support.

When we are asked why we don’t play Overwatch, I feel like my reason is because the gameplay is more balanced to me. I never really felt cheated in any way but in terms of lag when I died.
Without a true “ultimate” system, it really made it so that there aren’t really any moves to reward people for bad positioning or make it so people can really get away with it (aside from Übercharge and dead ringer) and make it so they cannot oppress the other team except for spawn camping with stickies.
Another reason I like it is the way health is distributed between classes
As much as i play TF2, claiming TF2 is more balanced or fair is the worst joke you could make. Unless you play exclusively on servers without random crits and always with a competent team.
TF2 is the more casual and simpler game, but it is the worst in terms of balance.
