I was at this performance and many more. Think you know Austin or Stevie Ray, where were you in 1983? SRV used to hang at Antones when his brother's wife was the manager. He played this sitting next to me while I was eating STubbs when he first came to Austin and had a little table in the back of Antones on the drag. Before CB moved to the hotel under 35 and 38th and 1/2 street. SRV was a very nice person who was real. He had natural guitar skills. The kind that could not be taught. Ask BB King, Albert Collins, Angela Strehli, Kim Wilson, Jimmie Ray Vaughn, Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, and Bonnie Raitt what the REAL Austin was about. It was before Dell arrived. Eric Johnson was 15 or so, that was his main influence. The music was BLUES. I am in tears every time I hear this song. It has soul and feeling. It has heart, it wasn't made for money or to be on the charts. SRV lived the life he played on the guitar. I miss him everyday! SRV is on a short list with Hendrix for the best natural guitarist of all times.I would love to hear SRV and Hendrix jammin in heaven.Until then, I will enjoy the my music from 40-60 years ago which is still better than today's,
Is good to see that i'm not the only one that fall in tears every time that listen this wonderful thing that we can't describe in words. I unfortunally didn't have the lucky to see SRV in concert, because I wasn't even born when Stevie was alive, but I think I'm lucky thinking that If we hadn't this technology I could never know that he existed, and I really thank this. I can be young, but it doesn't make me disagree that the music was a thousand times better before, there isn't any musician that gave so much of his soul how Stevie did. Rip Stevie
A few minutes ago passed away out of this world one of my best and loved friends and part of my family. This adorable song was and always be our favorite to start our weekly reunions drinking our favorite beer and to enjoy the rest of the day. Rest in peace my eternal friend. Hope to see you again.
The absolute best at this style of music... r&b, blues, rock blues. No other guitarist covers all the bases like stevie did, be it in how much true soul and emotion he put in every song he wrote. There wasnt a single nano gram of b.s. in his playing! For me personally stevie ray Vaughan is the best of the absolute best in his lane of music.. NO ONE!
On the back window of my truck, I have two Stickers! One of the King! and the other of Stevie Ray! If Stevie could see it and maybe he can!! he would love it!! What a Compliment to him!! I can only think of how they sound together? Maybe that's why sometimes the Thunder is SO DAM LOUD!!! We love you both. Play on!! We love you!! RIP!
He is telling a story without words but thru his guitar play... It is deeply profound and telling of something very personal to him. And it is utterly brilliant and beautiful.. RIP eternally Stevie.
and just keep in mind, this is during his time of booze and drugs! best guitarist ever, sharing that place only few other gods (not talkingabout eric xD)
WHY was this not on the ‘official’ release?? Or ever been officially released?? This is the best version alongside the ‘Texas Flood’ album and Live At The El Mocambo versions as the absolute pinnacle of that clean, otherworldly but somehow at the same time really honest and ‘earthy’ soundscape SRV creates here.
I really believe that his playing and ability was in the same league as Hendrix. Everyone has heard of Hendrix, but not many people has heard if SRV. But those who know, KNOW!
I literally just heard SRV's music for the first time a couple months ago (Besides hearing Pride and Joy everywhere my whole life) SRV was so amazing, this song nearly brings me to tears whenever I hear it.
Zachary Chad Hutchinson Ah man this is pure gold!!! Thank you for sharing this with the world. I went to your channel but couldn’t find the full show. Any chance you’d reupload? I’ve been looking for the full show forever!!
Whats with the “ding” that cuts the volume on this song twice? I kept thinkin it was a work update with my work email but no, it happen at the same second every time i rewind... weird
Would you upload the full Austin City Limits Songwriters Special from 1980, with Willie Nelson, Floyd Tillman, Hank Cochran, Red Lane, Whitey Shafer, Sonny Throckmorton, and special guest Ray Price, recorded from a VHS tape, and will include the funding credits, Austin City Limits Season 5 opening credits, closing credits with "London Homesick Blues", and the 1971 PBS logo at the end?

You kinda made me cry my man.
Your last sentence is so true, seen Stevie Ray in 1985 . Great memories.

Awesome! Thanks for the history, and I'm so jealous of you.
I love how SRV was able to reach into the future and add default Apple notification sounds to his insane music....
I was wondering what that was...🤣
Busting Banks TV did the exact same😂😂
He actually meant at this part 0:25

Complete mastery of the fretboard. Pure genius
Yep and he just had the feel to make the guitar talk.
Cant even touch this legend. He was truly a master.
Most beautiful song that was ever written to show his love for his wife. I heard that she cried when he would play it for her. God rest their souls.
This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard

Simply amazing guitar work, Stevie was an incredible guitar player and will always be!! The world misses you my brother!!

MORE SRV AND DOUBLE TROUBLE!!!
This is all a guitar should ever hope to emit, as deftly as it should ever expect to be utilized.

Did srv write this in his prime time?
Stevie wrote fairly early in his career for his wife "Lenora (Lenny) Bailey".
