Great video as usual. I got the FR Nitro last year and been using them on and off. They spent a bit of time out when I got the Boston 12s, but now realising that the FRs are better feeling at that easy pace, and the Bostons can be a bit stiff. Glad to see Puma are getting the recognition they deserve for a range of great shoes. Prices have been good too - often reduced shortly after release.
I have 500 miles already in these shoes. They still perform great. After 350-400 miles they have loss some of the outsole in the outside area of my heels, since I underpronate, but they are still good to go. I bought them 9 months ago when I started to train for an Ironman for my easy runs/recovery days. I can say that they are well above any of my expectations, and saved me a lot of money
I've just past 100 miles, but the traction on the outer area already scuffed almost smoothly though the rubber outsole still thick enough, I wonder if this similar with your experience..?
@@sigitnugroho7523 Yes, after 200 miles started to lose some rubber. And after 350-400 miles it reached the foam part. But they still are good to do some light work. Now for my long/easy runs I use the velocity nitro 3
I’m a neutral runner, always have been, but have been suffering a double whammy of an insertional Achilles tendinopathy and post Tib overload following my last marathon effort in Chicago! These have been fantastic in supporting my heel during runs. I have quite narrow ankles and heels so I had to use all the lace holes to have a proper lock down. The ride is very smooth
The FR nitro is one of the easiest to recommend to other people, blindly. It's a stability shoe that doesn't feel restrictive. It's also a shoe than can handle easy, tempo, to threshold paces. I guess my only gripe with it is the snug fit, especially in the toebox.
I'm just going to keep stocking ForeverRun Nitros because they are awesome cheap and how currently constructed are right up my ally. I don't need or use stability shoes. I'm more of a sprinter but these cover alot of bases for alot of runners. ❤ Team Puma for the Win
Thanks for the review 👍 I'm a stability shoe user, flat feet and heel strike. I've only ran 7 miles in my pair so far and they felt a bit clunky so glad to hear that they will break in a bit. I normally use Asics GT1000/2000 and Kayano but they have not been so good lately (older models, not tried current models due to cost), so have been looking at other brands. I also have Puma Deviate Nitro Elite as my first pair of racing shoes so was already aware of the Nitro foam. Just need to use the ForeverRun more now 😉
I only have old versions GT1000-10, GT2000-10 and Kayano 28. GT1000 is fine for shorter runs or some speedier runs/workouts, nothing too fast. GT2000 much the same. Kayano is good for long runs, I did a half marathon race in them after I got an injury with Neutral racing shoes. All are "ok" there's nothing special about any and don't feel as good as the older Kayano 25 and 26 I had. I want to get a pair of the current GT2000 when they go on sale to compare as they are meant to be a jump up in performance/feel. I have other shoes like the Puma ForeeverRun Nitro, New Balance Vongo v5, Mizuno Wave Inspire that feel better (to me anyway)
I prefer the step-in feel of the FRN compared to the DN2. Both are great shoes but FRN puts that smile on my face when I go for my easy, long run in them.
These are my go to shoe for long runs. Really great at just cruising along at nice steady pace and with the Puma grip can handle any weather and light trails.
Interested in trying this one. Looking for a replacement for my beloved Glideride 3 😢 and I think you recommended the Forever Run or the Supernova Rise as alternatives. Great review as always Mike 👍🏻
Big Puma vibes! They appear to be putting it Saucony. The Deviate Nitro & Nitro Elite 3 could create a storm this year and topple many shoetubers lists… Kofuzi I look forwards to your reviews on these and the new ASICS Super shoes as they are launched.
Really appreciate that you give it some time and get back after a 100 miles. Things usually change with the miles. Think I will give these a try. Love the Deviate nitro 2 and need a new daily shoe.
Great shoe , as a larger runner 6’1” and weight 210 lbs I really recommend this shoe , I agree it took a tiny bit of break in but just love it now . Can pick up pace and not too soft . I too got a good price on mine . Sort of an underrated shoe I think. I tried deviate nitro 2 and it didn’t work for me .
I absolutely hated the Foreverrun. I found it slappy, had heel slip and terrible lace pressure on an oddly thin tongue that bunches. I really like Puma and also think the Deviate Nitro 2 is fantastic. I'm onto my second pair. The Foreverrun though, I don't even think the foam felt particularly great, but was probably the best part. I'd take the original Magnify Nitro over this anyday. I actually prefer the original Magnify to the Magnify 2 as well, but that's a different issue. Just my completely subjective experience of course and the person I sold the Foreverruns to is apparently happy with them.
It’s a great time to be a runner. When one shoe doesn’t work for a runner, there are many other options that can. Glad to hear you’ve found alternatives that work for you.
Puma isn’t trying to be like anyone else. They are doing their own thing and I respect that. Most brands all have some major aspect in common now except puma. Just snagged the velocity nitro 3s and I really love the fit and the ride
I remember doing morning runs on basketball shoes (dont know anything about shoes) when i was in high school. After running i feel so tired although i run daily. Today ive just had my puma dev. nitro 2 I just did a quick 5 km run and didnt even feel that much tired. Never knew running shoes feels this good
Hi Kofuzi. Oddly I had the opposite experience with this shoe. Felt fantastic out of the box and for the first 40-50 miles then I began to fall out with it. It began feeling’big’ and clunky’ and the upper rather than mould to my foot shape seemed to get baggy especially around the heal where the material was ‘gappy’. I wondered at that point if I should have gone down half a size but the shoe length was ok. In the end I stopped reaching for them and sold them on in near perfect condition with around 70 miles on them. Ian 🇬🇧
I was on the fence about getting this one after already owning the Magnify Nitro 2 ( which , as a heavier runner, I absolutely love!). But then found a pair of the white with neon pink and yellow Futrograde colorway on clearance at DTLR for $29.98!!!!! At that point it was a no brainer . I've used a couple of times now...but I think I have to break them in a bit more. At this point they feel a bit dead. But hey for $29.98 +10.95 shipping I'm not complaining. (DTLR's horrible cust service notwithstanding).
If you were going to choose the ForeverRun Nitro or the Velocity Nitro 3 for your easy runs which would you go for? I have the Deviate Nitro 2 for my faster runs so this would be for easy only. Thanks, I love the content.
Perhaps, but the Tempus is more explicitly stability oriented. And it’s more about bounce than cushion, as in the ForeverRun I do believe the ForeverRun will be changing to be more stability oriented, so maybe they will get closer
Idol maybe, I can visit you this coming June 2024 because it's our birthday 🎂 but not yet sure cross finger,I hope we can see you in Chicago..I'm Your Big Fan In The Philippines..and I'm Still watching your Tokyo Marathon 2023 Thats my Favourite content that you made last year.❤
@althurules I don't know if they are inherently unstable...but they are soft which could bother some people with stability issues. I have some running specific superfeet in mine. They do have a nice wide base which does add a bit of stability.
Not a shoe on my wish list so commenting mostly for the algorithm. Interesting that the nitro changed inside of 100 when I've put well over 100 in my DN2 and it still feels fresh. So nitro ≠ nitro. It has to be a different formulation.
There are a lot of variables when it comes to supercritical foams. There is the core puck of material (could be Eva, could be Peba). And then there is the gas. Nitrogen gas gives us nitrogen foam. CO2 (and nitrogen I think) gives us hyperburst.
How is the fit between the forever run vs the deviate nitro 2? Do your toes fit the same in the FR and the DN2? The problem I had with saucony was that I love the Guide 16... And the tempus was supposed to be an upgrade to that. But the fit is completely different. I don't fit in the same size tempus as Guide. Not sure why they did that.
Different shoes may have different fits depending on their intended use. It's kind of like how a seat in a minivan fits very different than a seat in a sports car. The fit is more snug in the Deviate Nitro 3 than the ForeverRun. If you've experienced sizing issues in the past, I might consider a half size up or perhaps try the wide version.
Hey man! Found myself curious about temps and midsole performance while watching. Have you found some midsole materials perform better/worse during cold weather running? Cheers ✌🏻
I've been on record saying that I believe the cold effect on foam is overstated. I think your feet feel cold more than the foam does. and I would not change a shoe choice based on temperature alone
The only midsole I've tried that felt different at temperature extremes was the first generation Adidas SL20 with Lightstrike. It was okay in warm weather but felt like cork in cool and cold weather. Great fitting shoe, okay in warm weather or on a synthetic track in cooler weather.
I've got them and don't enjoy running faster in them. They feel a bit heavy and clunky, especially if you're used to lighter shoes. If you like Puma try the Liberate Nitro (pretty cheap), or Deviate like Kofuzi said.
@@ulquiorrasciffer04 Is magnify2 better than invincible/ nimbus 25? How would you rate the midsole bounce/upper of magnify2 compared to invincible/ nimbus 25 ?

This is my daily trainer (easy/recovery runs). I agree with what Kofuzi said; once the shoe breaks in, it is so great to run into.
I have 500 miles already in these shoes. They still perform great. Is the magnify nitro 2 a better option than the forever run nitro if I don't need any stability?
The MN2 is a great all rounder. I have both and I find the MN2 to be more versatile. It can do easy runs and long and can takes strides inbetween.
I haven’t tried the magnify before, but it doesn’t have the dual foam approach of the forever run
EddBud has run in both I believe. Check his reviews.

I have flat feet and these don't pinch me...but everyone is different. Go try on a pair if you can.
Im a little bit confused. What's the difference between foreverrun and Magnify Nitro?
Mild stability Foreverrun good for recovery run or easy run. Magnify nitro more on daily workout.
