I've been looking at the Switchbot 3 for a while, and was held back by price. But a combo of an Amazon Cyber Monday discount, PLUS your discount code helped me make that final decision to purchase. Thank you!
Hello, thank you for your video. I have a long runway at home (~32ft), and I am planning to buy 2 'Switch bot 3'. However, in the description I saw that it supports up to 9ft runway. I wonder if it is kind of recommendation or a hard requirement. Have you ever tried to use one bot to open your 12' curtain?
Thanks for watching! I did actually test this since I wanted to use the second I had for another zone. And even with my low-drag setup I would not want to tow 12' of my curtains. The collective drag seemed to be a bit much and if the tire slips you can lose calibration. Let us know what you ended up doing, and good luck!
@@manicmods I’ve bought 2 switch bots. Support has said that 9ft is kind of recommendation. Construction is in progress now and I cannot do a real test, but what I did so far: I have attached a weight to the bot and turned it upside down (like a car with one wheel). It was able to handle 16ft.
Smartthings matter integration for Lock pro was a bit difficult but eventually worked for me, try the second method of adding matter using code from the settings instead of scanning the matter QR. Now that matter is integrated works flawlessly and makes me want more of Switchbot like these curtain motors
Thanks for watching, and I do appreciate that update! I moved to Hubitat recently, and ended up using the same ST API instead of Matter. Each time I try something new w/ the protocol, it's a total PIA but I'll give it another shot 🍻
Lol. Good review and jokes were funny. Think the only inconsistent part was when you could tell you're reading off the matter compatibility portions; understood @ why but lesser engagement to the audience.
5:20 Any other feedback u have would be greatly appreciated! This video tanked and not sure if it has to do w paid promotion. That was really just safeguarding myself since product was free. Hope some have got something useful out of it and thanks for watching!
Appreciate you all, and hope you like my review! Let me know if you think I should have split the products up, or my end jokes were too much 😅
would have been nice had you shown how to install this on a back tab top curtain.

Thanks! I thought same w matter compatibility. I read top-left to give some cohesion. But next time I'd record me tapping the screen.
Doesn't show how to install without a hub.
Not quite the ultimate beginners guide.
Doesn’t show you how to install
