Some small words of comfort to all who are sad for the kitty. Seeing as the cat was hidden in a cosy, dry space, it was most likely looking for a peaceful place to pass. And it seems like it found a perfect place, away from the noise and hassle, to rest for one last time.

Funny enough I have a friend who found the exact same thing in his old shed. Under the floor there was a dead cat but PERFECTLY MOMMIFIED!. Probably because it was so dry in there he dried with skin on. His father took it and put it in a display that now sits on the patio's wall. It gets 2 types of reaction from people, people are either fascinated or terrified by it. I love it.

You should never show a new parent (mothers in particular) a real life example of a vulnerable creature, potentially having suffered & then having passed away alone. Every new parent is obsessed with protecting their offspring & the thought of that vulnerable life being snuffed out is simply unbearable so its no wonder that Hannah became upset. I'd like to think that Mr Whiskers, found peace & solace in the old shed during his last hours & you have honoured his life by burying him so respectfully. Looking forward to watching your restoration of the old shed & noting all of your solutions for preserving as much of the original fabric of the building as possible.

Elliot is the man. Laid back, sensitive, smart, funny, talented, good husband and father. He's basically a unicorn. Hannah is very lucky.

Love this!! Me and my family are fixing up a 100+ year old barn on our property. It’s in rough shape too, but it’s so worth fixing up to preserve the history of the property!
Good luck to you!! Looking forward to seeing the finished results!

    Grandpa was adorable.
The kitty skeleton was a sad find and reading the comments I can see I’m not the only one that felt that way. I hope everyone that doesn’t already have all the pets they can handle goes out and adopts their own Mr Whiskers and gives him a loving forever home.

I have so much respect and appreciation for the way you preserve history while simultaneously creating spaces that are more usable. I also love how you organize everything while dealing with it. All that stuff was so neatly piled and packaged. I'm always amazed by your skills, including the unique editing.
