Nice video! I bought a 2005 springer classic, and the cap on the reservoirs calls for dot 5 so i went and bought a bottle of it, $27! Thats crazy. But when i opened up the reservoir it was yellow... So i think at some point the previous owner changed it to dot 4...
@Jorge69MD your bike will soon be unable to stop. Trailer it to the dealer and have that crap flushed out. They will likely tell you you need to replace everything though.
Thank you, great help.! I didnt know how to recognize the brake fluid in my bike.
Thank you, trying to figure out to use in my shovelhead
A good pair of shoes.

Old DOT5 can be amber/brownish … so you can’t say just by color….

@@Slking507 one of the Harley guys told me to just flush it out and add dot5
@@Jorge69MD when in doubt. Go with what the bike says.
Great video
any issues putting completely dot 4 in my sportster instead of dot 5 ?
DO NOT do it. Hell yeah there is going to be issues, they are not compatible.
My local Auto parts store gave me 5.1 although I told him I need 5. Is there a difference?
@@jklcksmth1991boyes, theyare totally different. 5.1 is compatible with DOT 4. Dot 5 is NOT compatible with 3, 4, or 5.1
Preston is clear DOT 4 so isn’t the blue bottle crapped it Walmart sells that’s DOT 4
