Don't forget Goku also had the knack to learn techniques a lot faster than others. He learned the Kame Hame Ha just by observing it. while it took master Roshi 50 years.
Vegeta picked up the ability to sense ki from seeing it once. He learns about as fast as Goku does, so he could definitely learn IT if he wanted to (of course, this might still take two years…)
Well one roshi had to invent the move with no template, and part of the might have just been him getting strong enough to actually manipulate ki. And idk about the humans but piccolo and the other Saiyans pick things up just as easy if not easier.

@@austinraymond9136 videl just learned to fly, she didn't learn to throw ki blasts or anything. Much less the Kamehameha. She also didn't learn it nearly as fast as Goten did. Still very impressive for a human, but in context with the Saiyans, piccolo, and the other Z fighters it's not anything special.
This explain why Goku likes to lengthy a fight. The more techniques he sees, the more he learns

But on a real level I don't think piccilo couldve used it while using his special beam cannon. It requires him to focus his energy at the same place instant transmission seems to.

The fingers aren't required to be on the forhead, to use it, you just need to focus... The finger thing was just an earlier thing that kinda helped him...
The Kahmehameha Tecnique, yes you need to focus to use it, but after mastering the technique like Goku has, you should be able to do it with ease... So you can put your focus elsewhere, such as the Instant Transmission technique... =D
Things like Tribeam, & Special Beam Cannon, on the other hand, are much more dependant on the focus... Which is why they wouldn't work with it...

All Z fighters should have trained together inside the time chamber, learned IT, have their potentials unlocked there. Why didnt happen? Plot.
another explanation is that goku and vegeta don't inherently gain any advantage over the other Z fighters in strength except for the zenkai boost and are only much stronger because of how saiyans only desire to fight and train and human's don't have the motivation to get that powerful.

would have been great but i think at some point the sayains would have to hold back against their human friend's....like gohan turned super sayian fighting his dad and if yamcha was in the chamber ...the pressure and energey bursts alone would have killed him ...

Goku's technique needs a strong *familiar* Chi to focus on. Whis' Kaikai doesn't.
supreme kai's skill is completely diffrent from the instant transmission. it's just one of his god ability's
Bob Dylan The Kaioshin‘s Kaikai does not need to lock on any ki signature. It allows him to teleport from one star to another star among others.
The same reason they don't know the kaioken. Toriyama is a terrible writer whose myopic focus on Goku leaves no room for any other character to shine or accomplish anything. Seriously, Cell fucking learned it just by WATCHING Goku do it a few times over the course of a single fight. There's no damn reason the other fighters couldn't have mastered it given the years of time provided them. DBZ is a fun watch but does not stand up to any amount of critical thinking.

Is it laughable that the enemies (antagonists) in the series can adapt this technique just by observing or coming into contact with Goku first before his own friends and family? If Frieza just made a mockery of this "technique", what good is it now since he just surpassed the Yardrats?

I got a question, is there an actual difference between like a Kamehameha, Masenko, final flash or galick gun? They are all pretty much the same thing right? Just charged up ki blasts or did i miss something somewhere.
if you go back to Gohan's kid days. You wil noitice Gohan's Masenko NEVER worked on anyone as a kid when he rage boosted or got mad or whatever. I don't even think Masenko EVER worked for cell or piccolo. Also Tiens triangle/square life draining attack stands out cause out of all the attacks it brought out the most more than any other. clearly showed by Tien holding cell back to buy the androids time

Also potentially it's like a tennis serve or baseball pitch. It can be spin, flat or somewhere between as well as the motion you use to prepare it can vary but in essence it is very similar but sends the ki out faster/more concerntrated/controlled and directed differently etc or at least that is how I view it
Like Frieza's ball that destroyed planet vegeta vs Buu's pink attacks. Buu's are far smaller but much more concentrated (and pretty)
Emile Boel. In The Original Dragon Ball. They state that the kamehameha gathered up all of one's latent ki and allowed them to attack with all their power. In dbz, they say that the galick gun is comparable to the kamehameha. and other powerful techniques such as the trigun usually take more energy. The biggest problem is that the writing is very vague with it. I would say the biggest difference is the shape and function. For instance, goku can steer his kamehameha by moving his hands. Cell does the same thing. But vegeta has never been shown as being able to control his galick gun or final flash.

Goku never has the time to teach any one IT. During the 3 year training period they had to get as strong as possible not knowing exactly how strong the andriods are, and remember it took goku one year to learn, so why would they sacrifice 1 year of getting stronger to learn IT?? Makes sense? Same goes for when he trained gohan in the hyperbolic time chamber. Why waste that 1 one year teaching gohan IT?
Plus if everyone new IT the move would get lame real fast!

Why didn't they perform the super saiyan god ritual of Gohan, Goten, and Trunks a week before the tournament of power and have them learn to effectively use that form in the HTC?
I think it would make more sense but it would also suffer from the ssj super sale problem. If everyone gets it then the ability will see a nerf and or just be overused.

Goku is humble enough to learn these techniques but, Vegeta and piccolo do there own thing, gohan doesn't like fighting, Tien is busy being irrelevant, goten and trunks are children and shouldn't even be put on the front lines/ are joke characters anyway, yamcha gave up fighting along with krillen, etc. The sad reality is a lot of the Z fighters don't put as much work into fighting as the full blooded saiyans. But the short answer is plot.

I mean sure that would be the best solution but this is dragon ball and there is a pecking order that the writers follow for the characters.
yeah, basically my point. The writers just want to make goku do the heavy lifting and let's say krillen or the others learned the spirit bomb it would be a waste for them to use it as there in most situations not strong enough to win a beam struggle. Same for kioken as the weaker characters would suffer to much damage and the only other characters I could see use them would be piccolo, gohan, vegeta, and maybe gotten and trunks. These moves are not in there character or even in there goal/ style of fighting.

Consider that Goku spent over a year to learn the ability, and that he normally can duplicate a move after seeing it, just once. Vegeta also can do this to an extent, but generally prefers to develop his own moves and isn't the type of character who would ask his rival for combat tips. ;)

Goku uses stolen techniques. But won't share those stolen techniques with anyone else.
Examples of said stolen techniques?
Why: because if Goku needs a whole year to just learn it (not even mastering it), most others won't manage it in their lifetime.
Even if they learn it we've witnessed many scenarios where instant transmission is utterly useless because they catch them at the spot they'll teleport to.. Instant transmission is more of luxury technique at this point.
I really wish Goku would actually teach this to his friends and not his enemies. Cell, Buu, Goku Black, and I bet he'd even have taught Frieza by now if the guy could sense power levels.

Maybe the humans don't wan't to train like Goku or Vegeta? remember Saiyans remain young for a longer period of time. As for humans 1 year is a long time. Imagine aging 1 year in one day, I don''t think that's healthy for any human if you return. And as for learning the Instant transmission , it's not that important during a fight. If Vegeta could choose between becoming stronger , faster, more durable and have more ki instead of learning 1 technique that you don't even use that much during a fight he would chose the increase all his abilities. You can claim it's plot but it does make sence either way.
Goku might just be the only one that can. Or he lacks the ability to teach it well. Anyway no one wants to give Goku credit for learning how to transfer matter instantaneously
Or maybe the writers just didn't want other characters using his techniques.
A few things:
1. For a technique that requires concentration to use, it'd make since that the harsh conditions of the Time Chamber may make it a bad place to learn the technique.
2. Many of the Z-fighters have lives. Even with the Time Chamber, it'd be a big commitment to learn the Instant Transmission.
3. The Time Chamber is an intense place to stay in, many characters may not be able to mentally handle it.
and lastly,
4. What ever would have possessed to believe the PRINCE would request to take lessons from some lower class being?!

You forgot to mention that Metal Cooler also knows the instant transmission. He says so in that movie were he fights goku.

Simple answer. Goku is a VERY VERY selfish fighter. He trains with multiple masters and takes all the best techniques and then NEVER teaches anything great or useful like instant trans or even kaioken to anyone (bar that one time when he taught Goten and Trunks the fusion technique which lead to him putting the ENTIRE planet at risk killing virtually everyone lol)

My only problem with the Hyperbolic Time Chamber is that it ages you a whole year older than you're supposed to be. That's why Chi Chi was all fucked up about Gohan because he hit the early stages of puberty in the Time Chamber and came out as a teenager lol. So... Goku would be like 4 years (?) older than he's supposed to be by now.
On another note!!! Do you remember how Piccolo and Gotenks were trapped in the Time Chamber but Buu escaped? When Gotenks and Piccolo finally got out Buu had already eaten everyone. WTF!!! That would imply Gotenks and Piccolo were locked in there for ATLEAST months after Buu escaped because of the time distortion. That never sat right with me. Did they explain this?
I did some math and idk how accurate it is but if it took Buu 5 minutes to eat everyone after he escaped (which I think is plausible) that would translate to about 30.4 hours of being locked in the time chamber... so did Gotenks really wait 30 hours before deciding to go SSJ3?
Even if it took Buu 30 seconds to eat everyone (still plausible since he can turn multiple people to chocolate at a time) that'd translate to about 3 hours in the time chamber.

It's the only one that really focuses on the martial arts of the series and not just "he's so powerful, ah the power level it can't end, oh my gosh the enemy has more power, holy cow Goku has a new transformation technique to defeat the strong enemy by becoming stronger". Seriously though, I miss the martial arts techniques from the original. They basically completely give up on technique for speed, power and transformations very early on in Z

Prob because they have been to busy training for enemies like the androids and cell. Goku, Piccolo and Gohan went to train together while everyone else wanted to do there own personal training as well. Then Goku was out for a good bit of the android saga due to the virus then sacrificed himself to prevent Cell from blowing up the earth and was dead for 7 years and was only able to come back for a day until elder kai gave his life by the time Buu ate everyone of his friends on earth. They had no time to learn the move and now with Super taking place not long after Buu. Overall Goku had no time to get them to learn the move and during the 7 days before the Cell games, Goku was more focused on having him and Gohan taking it easy so they can get use to super saiyan so it no longer drains them over time and Goku also took the time to gather the dragonballs in the meantime as well........

Everyone forgets goku learning the kamaehamaeha wave by merely observing it. Cell saw goku do IT which is how he learned it. Same goes for Buu.
Short answer: probably the same reason the Z-fighters never learned the Kaioken - because Toriyama FORGOT.

Why don’t the other Z Fighters know the Kaioken??? I think either Yamcha or Krillin had it in Xenoverse. Really, I think they should give it to either Krillin or Tien or Piccolo or someone. Mainly Piccolo though. Namekians need new techniques or to have a god ki form. They gave all the Saiyans transformations. Earthlings and Namekians could learn Kaioken or Potential Unleashed.

If everyone used it it would trivialize the technique, and make it much less special when Goku uses it. That's probably why none of the Z fighters are taught it.

Goku has not shared any of his skills with others because he cannot really teach, but he can definitely learn though.
It would force Toriyama to redefine each character. Kaioken unlocked potential Krillen or Kaioken Nameless Namekian or Kaioken Gotenks are all plot breakers. Why doesn't everyone learn Destructo Disk? Because Goku/Vegeta spamming that move ruins the formula. That's the reason Pan never went SSJ
Goku learned the instant transmission ability from eating sick aliens. This cannot be taught only...acquired.
I don't think Humans would ever bother going into the time chamber, remember, unlike Saiyans Humans lose their Youth WAY earlier, which means few days in time chamber would have them grow old real quick.

If you wanna know how long it'd take to get to Namek, Ginyu was summoned from there by Frieza. How many days it took Ginyu to arrive after being summoned=How long it'd take Goku to reach Yardrat.
I don't want to come across as a Japanese version elitist or something, but I just don't like the English Dub name Instant Transmission. Because transmit means to send something to another location but it is the user of the technique who is travelling, which is someone and not something. I prefer to call it Instant Teleportation or just Teleportation, because it is consistent with what happens.

I feel like they only use the Hyperbolic Time Chamber when it’s 100% necessary. You’re essentially shortening your life expectancy by 364 days, I know I wouldn’t want to do that all the time. Additionally, 1 year straight of non stop training without seeing families etc must be not only physically exhausting but also mentally stressful too
Don't we see Freeza call the Ginyu Force to Namek? And they were on Yardrat when Freeza called them. The Z warriors were only on Namek for about a week. It would've taken a few days at most for the Ginyu force to get from Yardrat to Namek. So, I think it only took a few days for Goku to get from Namek to Yardrat. It definitely wasn't 130 days.
I think the reason Goku/Vegeta are the primary users of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, is due to their lengthened life spans. We see even as Chichi and Bulma get old, Goku and Vegeta look no different. The hybrids, Gohan, Goten, and Trunks still seem to age at a more normal pace. If Krillin tried to go into the Time Chamber often, they'd age faster than the people around them. The exception would be Master Roshi, whom could probably train indefinitely in the Time Chamber safely.
One thing: spacecraft like the Pod is more like craft from Star Trek or Dr. Who. They pretty much teleport you places. There’s no ‘travel’ involved unless they want the scenery. So, I’m sure that Goku took his sweet ass time, but how’s that different than when he only trains with his son once in the Time Chamber, and must be nagged to do the farmwork. He trains otherwise. Classic Goku.
Nobody, has come up with the fact that Instant Transmission TAKES CONCENTRATION. So Piccolo using it, would be a no go, while doing it with special beam cannon, cause that takes concentration too. Same with Tien's Tribeam. The only one who could maybe benefit, are Krillin, and Yamcha.
Cooler and Cell were able to use it. Goku had plenty of time to show others how to do it. As much as Goku trains, I mean YEARS in the HBTC there is time for him to have trained others.
Vegeta would have no desire to copy his rival's technique. It would ruin his pride.
It also makes sense that they couldn't learn it in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber because it's a skill that involves distorting space and the chamber already has distorted space-time (for example: the extreme weather and gravity).
However that shouldn't have stopped Gohan and Piccolo from being able to learn the technique before the androids arrived.
Missing the point "The GOLDEN RULE of MARTIAL ARTS" . (this is lost in today's instant gratification generation ) of how taboo it is for a student of a martial art that should take you your whole life to learn, to drop it and pick up another before you master it,That means you need to learn it from a master (so far every master goku meets makes an exception because of his potential I assume). I don't see Goku feeling like a master any time soon so he won't be creating his own school yet, but what he has taught is the basics and also the techniques he has invented himself. As for the writing, the tone is set early during Dragon Ball when he was a kid. The first clue we get of Goku Being exceptionally unique is when he gets the nimbus cloud that only one of pure heart can ride. And here we are, Goku as a grandfather and he is still pure of heart (he can still ride it). So My theory is that This could be a requirement from The peaceful, mind reading, physically weak race Yardratians in order to learn their uniques techniques.
Well, if they ever wanted to make another DB anime, they could make a show in the year and half where Goku was on Yardrat. Weird but if done right, it could work. Of course, they could also do it between the the end of the Uub tournament and the beginning of GT, during Goku and Uub’s training. If they wanted to do something crazy, they could make an anime after GT with no Goku and just the later-life adventures of Vegeta.
It's writing yourself into a corner. Cause what would stop Piccolo from sending any all threats into a destructio disc with a giant arm/ hand and regrowing the limb. Or into Gohans full power blast. It makes allot puff the teamwork members OP.
Vegeta wouldn’t want to learn it he’d probably say something like: “I don’t need such a technique, it’s like running away! I’ll fight my opponent with raw power.”
Goku actually uses instant transmission in the beginning fight vs Frieza on namek. But i guess someone will say that it was just his speed being shown or showcased. Also in the manga Vegeta has learned the move along with another power or technique. No spoilers 🙈🤣
Here's a thought...what if Goku is just not a very talented teacher? He's obviously a skilled fighter capable of picking up skills easily, but that doesn't always translate to teaching those skills to others.
The masters and teachers that have helped the fighters improve over the course of the story haven't necessarily been strong in a fight. Popo, Kami, King Kai, Supreme Kai, etc. None of these guys ever topped the threat list, but they all had techniques to teach. Maybe Goku's just too impulsive and instinctual to help others?
Only two people allowed in the HTC at the same time. Plus you age in there as proven by Trunks and Gohans hair and body growth and Goku himself said is a very stressing training for the body since the conditions are so severe. He would've yo enter at least 5 days to train Vegeta,Gohan,Piccolo,Krilin and Tien. Plus, there are other techniques such as the destructo disc,makankossapo,tri-beam...that only one character know and they're not sharing it. The Dodonpa for example was proven to be more powerful than the kamehameha yet stopped being used while de kamehameha stood as the turtle students' main attack
You have to remember that Goku is a prodigy who learned the Kamehameha in a day. If it took him 1 year to learn IT how long would it take others? 5, 10, 20, 100 years? And he was being taught by the species that has complete mastery of the technique. Other Z fighters learning IT is not as easy as you make it sound.

Why in none canon (Return of Cooler) he pursued to master Instant Transmission-to use in instinctively/naturally without needing his finger on his head while in canon from DBZ till SUPER he never pursued to master it and still need his hand on his head and focus to where he's going at the in of the Tournament of Power?

All Dragonball Z fans know Vegeta would refuse any techniques that Goku try to teach him because of his arrogance and his Sayian Prince pride Vegeta will do things his way ....that's why I am a fan of his even though the series sis all about Goku
The real question is why does Goku know it? Not like he's very smart and the way the move is described is rather complex and involves breaking down every molecule in your body and then reassembling them. Who does he think he is? Edward Elric? I don't buy it...The guy has the reading comprehension of a child and a complete aversion to anything educational...I seriously doubt he has the medical or chemical knowledge that is implied to be needed to perform instant transmission. Oh ya remember when he read Krillin's mind that one time on Namek? Like wtf was that? lol
Well to be fair, I whould have loved a side arc were Goku tought Krillin the Kaioken and instant transmission techniques. Their best friends or at least are potrayed to be, making it logical for Goku to teach him out of friendship. Another reason why Krillin whould be most suited boils down to Krillins strenghts. Krillin don't have a flaring aura for his powerlevel, since he have great control over what little power he have(only reason why he still managed to keep relevant), both Kaioken and instant transmission seem to require perfect control of energy. This is definately true about the Kaioken were wild energy simply make Kaioken unusable(hence why Goku never used it in SS2 or SS3).
Considering Krillin have proved to have very good control over his power, Kaioken could easially become Krillins ultimate form and make his powerlevel more relevant if they choose to continue the franchise post Super. I dont wanna hate on other Z-fighters, but overall i find krillin to be most appropiate to pick up these techniques since Krillin could make them more of a core moveset for his fighting style and personality.
But well we all know Goku, he whould never teach other people since his growth in maturity really got retconned in Super. In Z Gokus pesonallity really matured alot making these things possible, but in Super they sort of butchered these interesting characteristics.
Teach Piccolo or Tien the Instant Transmission and U7 will have 0 competition during the Tournament of Power. Piccolo and Tien can create copies of themselves, who then could Instant Transmission their opponents out of bounds.
wouldnt the fact that Ginyu force arrived from Yardrat to Namek(old) about 4 days according to Freeza in manga chapter 270 also go in for how long goku was on Yardrat
ur kioken explanation is horrible. many many times over? what 2x? 4x? even in super he has only gone up to 20x and only for short times. and ps. just normal super sayain is 50x base level. so completely moot. moot
As said by several others here, I believe Goku is a prick too stingy to share techniques that would render him less special in the eyes of others. One thing I've often wondered though is why didn't Vegeta pick up the ability for doing instant transmission after fusing with Goku. After all, Cell absorbed it just by blowing up in front of Goku. But I guess the simple answer is that it just doesnt work that way.
If the Ginyu Force was in the middle of obtaining that planet when Frieza Called them in for reinforcements and it took 5 days for them to get there then we can assume that it also took 5 days for Goku to get there Afterwards he would have also took some time to heal and gain the planet's trust because he arrived in a ship just like Frieza's Crew did. (Perhaps)
Just by doing the math I would say the ship the he took was even faster than his old ship or at least as fast. Just to make it simple lets use just as fast as his old ship. Therefor at most it would have took him 11 days to get back to earth, but considering the universe is 3 denominational unless he the exact opposite direction that earth was in then we can assume that he had less than 11 days of travel so out of the 365 days in a year +260 days from waiting on dragon =625 total days
Using these numbers I would say that after marking the days of travel off next thing to knock off is the recovery time. Which could have been a long period of time, but I am guessing that it did not take long for him to recover. Mostly because he mentioned that he only could learn 1 of their abilities. I personally believe that another one of their abilities would be some kind of healing ability similar to Dende's. Mostly because in his memory he was being surrounded by them I am guessing they would have been pouring their energy into him to help him heal faster. Also At most I would say that it took him AT MOST a month to regain his energy without having any boosters to help him. (considering he was mostly exhausted and did not have every bone broken in him like vs Vegeta)
So at most i would say it took him 41 days of traveling and healing and maybe another month to become friends with the other race which would lead to a maximum of 71 days for travel/ healing/ gaining trust. Which would leave him 554 days to master his super sayian and learn instant transmission.
But if i am right about everything in my theories with them having healing powers and how everyone instantly likes goku and the new ship being faster i would honestly say that it only took him 1 day of healing like a week to become friends and only 8 days of travel (5 of the days are a must for the ship to get back to Yardrat) so instead I believe he had 609 days or so to master super sayian and learn the instant transmission.

Also goku is a horrible trainer. He subscribes to the sayian philosophy of "fighting is all emotion" and rarely teaches his students any techniques like the others do.
Just compare the scenes of goku and gohon (time chamber which was years of training for a small power boost, it's arguable that goku gained more then gohon since gohon just unlocked ssj2 during that training while goku pushed himself from just above freeza to even with cell) during the cell saga vs gohon and goten/videl (teaching to fly; a tech gohon taught himself, in a day which increases your effective power infinitly) in the buu saga
