I don't think krorks are a separate sub-race of orkoids but a stage of maturity. If an ork stays alive and fights for long enough he turns into a krork. The thing is, they die each and every time before becoming too strong. The Beast and his prime-orks were almost there, as they were already like 10 meters tall.

Your right but wrong at the same time, the way krorks were made is basically more so that krorks are the precursors to what orks would become, quite literally describe orks as their devolutioned version of krorks given even then they only became orks because there was no further orders (which is literally the truth since the old ones by the end of their war with the necrons had been taken by the enslavers which were warp anomalies. )so to call it a maturity isn't false but it's wrong given orks can become krorks if they follow the right warboss. A prime example would be that of ghazghoul who is the only ork able to pull off krork leveled feats aside of the beast of course.

@@agentc7020 One Krork we saw was the size of a knight. We have no way of knowing how big they are on average.
The Necron warriors are cannon fodder. Immortals are their main actual soldiers. Your average Krork and Eldar warrior was most likely on par with them. The Krork and Eldar lost to the Necron
You have no idea what kind of firepower or responsiveness Krork power armor has, so you have no idea how they would fare against a knight.

Worst case scenario is the tomb Krork gets loose but its spores merge with Orkoid spores, causing either the Orkz to become Krorkz or making a hybrid between both.
Da Orkz of Octavius are on their way to turning back into Krorks by just constant fighting iirc. Not true Krork but maybe their genes will mould into something about on par or similar.

If orks had sufficiently powerful enemies to fight, I believe they would become krork as they are still the exact same species. They were Krorks during the war in heaven which was between literal gods. Maybe they become krorks again when the Tyranids invade in greater numbers or the necrons all awaken and are united.

The closest thing the modern imperium has seen to a Krork was during the War of the Beast, as the prime orkz, the eponymous "Beasts" were extremely large, much more so than the average ork. They also spoke fluent low gothic and were capable of holding a steady polite conversation. My theory is that the Krorks return would require a massive amount of orkz in a smaller area, and a massive war, as a massive war would require strict leadership and brainpower. As such the orkz would collectively agree that they need to be bigger, stronger, and smarter in order to effectively combat their foes, likely leading to a regression to a more Krork-like state, if not a full regression

So the thing is that when I hear “as big as a dreadnought” for orks it isn’t actually anything that impressive as there have been several warbosses that size in the current setting.
    Ghazgskull
    Nazdreg
Snagrod (he didn’t even wear armor and his second in command was almost as big, in power armor)
Klawjaw (no official size but a def dread noticed how he was at eye level)
    Warboss of octarius

It would be awesome to see krorks again. It also just makes sense for the lore. Orks takes what’s around them and at that time it was just the necrons, so of course their tech was more advanced. Since then they have just degraded by fighting each other and the imperium who are so far behind technologically. It would also be great if those orks fighting in Khornes real turn into krorks. They don’t need to get out, but it would be cool if there’s mentioned some krork sized orks with demonic armor at some point

I am pretty sure the Beast reign and Gazkull's waagh show us that the mere existence of a big enough ork in the population causes the entire empire to rapidly develop and evolve. During Beast's crusade orks had managed to actually get diplomatic and invent long-range teleportation. If we were to see at least one krork pop up, the entire ork race would soon follow.

Maybe there was some peaceful lull during the millions of years between the two 😴

I think Ghazghull is actually bigger than an Imperial Dreadnought. In the novella Chains of Golgotha, Yarrik is in battle with orks. Huge silhouettes of battling Titans can be seen through the fog of war, when Yarrik notices a sudden palpable change on the battlefield. The orks change across the battlefield and become more dangerous.
Yarrik sees something huge pounding onto the battlefield. It says "at first he thought it could be an Astartes Dreadnought, but then he realised it couldn't be -- it was TOO BIG!"
