I fully believe the Beast was a Krork who somehow managed to manifest again in the ork populace. There’s no other explanation I see outside of something completely unknown and new. He took on A PRIMARCH, and only died because said primarch is a perpetual and sacrificed himself to destroy it. If the Beast truly was a Krork, and ONE managed to accomplish all of that, imagine what an entire galaxy spanning empire of them was like.

As such the orkz would collectively agree that they need to be bigger, stronger, and smarter in order to effectively combat their foes, likely leading to a regression to a more Krork-like state, if not a full regression
I thought the Old Ones made them to combat that other weird parasite species that came out of the warp. I'd like to see some storyline where some really smart Ork Warboss has enough old Krork bloodline in him to remember have an inclination of his people saving the universe before and end up helping to do it agian.

The thing about orks tho is that if they fight a stong enough enemy they will turn back into krorks since during the horus heresy a few demi krorks had formed and the orks were documented to have begun agriculture and politics during the horus heresy they literally nerfed them selves so they would be allow to keep fighting without wiping out the entire galaxy
Orks grow due to the toughness of the battles they fight in. So, unless you can find some Boyz that are having fist fights with Tyranid Hive Fleets, I doubt any Krorks will grow from the 41st Millennium's stock of Orks.
So the thing is that when I hear “as big as a dreadnought” for orks it isn’t actually anything that impressive as there have been several warbosses that size in the current setting. Ghazgskull Nazdreg Snagrod (he didn’t even wear armor and his second in command was almost as big, in power armor) Klawjaw (no official size but a def dread noticed how he was at eye level) Warboss of octarius
Ghazgskull is supposed to be the biggest of them all and I think his pwer armor is meant to be more form fitting than one that makes him all that much bigger however it probably does increase his size
My favorite fan theory is that they species-wide existentialism, regarding what their true purpose actually was, manifested in their psychic belief powers, making their thoughts of “we were created to be, and are nothing more than, living weapons who enact constant war” a reality.
It would be awesome to see krorks again. It also just makes sense for the lore. Orks takes what’s around them and at that time it was just the necrons, so of course their tech was more advanced. Since then they have just degraded by fighting each other and the imperium who are so far behind technologically. It would also be great if those orks fighting in Khornes real turn into krorks. They don’t need to get out, but it would be cool if there’s mentioned some krork sized orks with demonic armor at some point
I like to think that if Krorks did comeback they would be a bit horrified. Just imagine waking up a few million years in the future and humanity is now a bunch of astralopithecs.
I am pretty sure the Beast reign and Gazkull's waagh show us that the mere existence of a big enough ork in the population causes the entire empire to rapidly develop and evolve. During Beast's crusade orks had managed to actually get diplomatic and invent long-range teleportation. If we were to see at least one krork pop up, the entire ork race would soon follow.
The chilling thing is that it probably means that when the Krorks were created, _violence may have been somehow more ubiquitous than during the ever-warring 41th millennium,_ as the orks devolved and didn't re-evolve into Krorks yet. Maybe there was some peaceful lull during the millions of years between the two 😴
If Trazyn's krork was freed, it would be followed by every ork due to its size. And if every ork is following that krork, it would get even larger, smarter, and stronger. Ork Emperor anyone?
Ork: "Oy, I see Space Marines! Dakka 'em! Krork: "My word, are those genetically modified humans cladded in ceramite plating? They seem unsettled by our presence. Shall we introduce ourselves, gentlemen?
Something tells me Korks will be the ultimate counter for Tyranids. Because the currently the necrons (or at least the silent king) knows very well that the Tyranids threat is very real and Korks might be the ultimate counter to them!
I seem to remember the old lore was that in their final form Gretchin were actually the toughest, biggest and smartest of the Ork race, but they had to eat a particular mushroom to undergo the transformation from their small stage The Orks eventually got rid of all the mushrooms and Gretchin became what they are today.
I think Ghazghull is actually bigger than an Imperial Dreadnought. In the novella Chains of Golgotha, Yarrik is in battle with orks. Huge silhouettes of battling Titans can be seen through the fog of war, when Yarrik notices a sudden palpable change on the battlefield. The orks change across the battlefield and become more dangerous. Yarrik sees something huge pounding onto the battlefield. It says "at first he thought it could be an Astartes Dreadnought, but then he realised it couldn't be -- it was TOO BIG!"
I think a single Kork leading a Ork warband can take down atleast half the Imperium and then some. Not cause how powerful it is, but because how slow the Imperium might be to combat it.
It’s honestly a fascinating subject. Thinking about Kroks coming back…..but the Adeptus Mechanicus could possibly get their hands on Krork tech, and reverse engineer it to fit the imperium.
Id love a story where the chaos god tzzynch converts some orks to his forces of chaos and harnesses the ork psychic powers and teaches them how to use the power of belief they hold and they start to believe they could be krorks again becoming more and more powerful the more they believe untill they become each ork as powerful as gork and mork

Krorks looking like an army of Zakus. I like it.
Ok, but that art is great, i love that they kind of look like Gundams/robot Onis. They look so freaking cool.
When a Space Marine has a Heretical one-night stand with an Ork, this is what you get
so old orks are walking zakus. maybe in the future the modern ork can evolve into a gouf
fk Darktide, I need a game playing as these badasses in a co-op horde style.
Getting serious Principality of Zeon mobile suit vibes from those power armors. Me likey.
korks look like they didn't skip leg day
So the thing is that when I hear “as big as a dreadnought” for orks it isn’t actually anything that impressive as there have been several warbosses that size in the current setting.
Ghazgskull
Nazdreg
Snagrod (he didn’t even wear armor and his second in command was almost as big, in power armor)
Klawjaw (no official size but a def dread noticed how he was at eye level)
Warboss of octarius
Ghazgskull is supposed to be the biggest of them all and I think his pwer armor is meant to be more form fitting than one that makes him all that much bigger however it probably does increase his size
Yes but those are warbosses (named warbosses) the average krok is just has big if not bigger than a dreadnought
Yeah, I think the beast (not a full krork) stood around vulkan’s size. So about 12-14 meters
Would be great if the warp spews out a krork battle fleet out on the dark imperium , from millions of years ago ...be cool as fuck.
My favorite fan theory is that they species-wide existentialism, regarding what their true purpose actually was, manifested in their psychic belief powers, making their thoughts of “we were created to be, and are nothing more than, living weapons who enact constant war” a reality.
God those Orcs are SO much cooler than the modern day orcs
Amazing Lost Technology of Ork during war on Heaven.
I am getting Doom-Marine vibes from that armor.
Imagine if the Krork got out and went to his Ork brethren making the re evolve back into krorks that kinda scary
A man can dream , Imagine an alliance...
Then the necrons went from Lovecraftian horrors to Space Egyptians and......... well Matt Ward.
Zaku vibes here
The beast: "am I a joke to you?"
Wagggghhhh brother
They look like those cyclops mechs from Gundam and I love it.
A Krork all I see is a damn MS-06 Zaku II
Ork: "Oy, I see Space Marines! Dakka 'em!
Krork: "My word, are those genetically modified humans cladded in ceramite plating? They seem unsettled by our presence. Shall we introduce ourselves, gentlemen?
Ork zaku: This is no ork my boy, no ork 😂
Something tells me Korks will be the ultimate counter for Tyranids. Because the currently the necrons (or at least the silent king) knows very well that the Tyranids threat is very real and Korks might be the ultimate counter to them!
Love how the middle few krork images looked like Gundam lol
I seem to remember the old lore was that in their final form Gretchin were actually the toughest, biggest and smartest of the Ork race, but they had to eat a particular mushroom to undergo the transformation from their small stage
The Orks eventually got rid of all the mushrooms and Gretchin became what they are today.
Galaxy sized squiggoth?
I think Ghazghull is actually bigger than an Imperial Dreadnought. In the novella Chains of Golgotha, Yarrik is in battle with orks. Huge silhouettes of battling Titans can be seen through the fog of war, when Yarrik notices a sudden palpable change on the battlefield. The orks change across the battlefield and become more dangerous.
Yarrik sees something huge pounding onto the battlefield. It says "at first he thought it could be an Astartes Dreadnought, but then he realised it couldn't be -- it was TOO BIG!"
If Orks become Krorks, everyone dies.
"More advanced than the Imperium's"
That's a pretty low bar.
Granted, there ARE lower bars but this is still a low bar.
It would be amazing to see a Krork character useable in the tabletop
I'd spend so much money if they got models for them..
Gundam: The Kroks
Lots of people don't understand the power of belief. Could you talk about how belief affects the warp And how races Like elves manifest gods.
Inquisitor kryptmann : Leviathan go brrr
A lot of their armor gives off Zeon mobile suite vibes.
Ere We Go, 'Ere We Go, 'Ere We Go! again...
I sholdda 'ave known, sholdda 'ave known, sholdda 'ave known,
But 'ere we go again
"Angron sir, you know that Krork that's hunting you?"
"You mean the Ork warboss?"
".........no"
Some of the old Krork armour feels like a mix of Terminator & Tau battlesuit armour. Aesthetically at least.
The legally distinct zakurk power armor
Now, imagine if Tuska demon killa and Gaz became krorks and the one in Trazyns collection escaped.
Dude they got Zaku's, even a Char custom with the horn.
