      Thanks buddy, looking forward to Bubba's. My brother's family is going to come up with mine to stay up in North Conway for the weekend so it should be fun.

    You did epic Seth! Great job, my legs were getting hurt just watching…

      Thanks Michael, a tough race for sure but always satisfying to push yourself (and still be able to dance a jig the next day).

    Saw this on Strava. Incredible! Glad you put up the video, awesome to see it.

      Thanks! I'm just glad that the smoke was gone before we started. It had been a real concern of mine, trying to run with it around.

    Great Video! Thanks for the shout out! Still working on mine, but now I have to change my title ha ha

    Great job, Seth! This format seems harder than just running an ultra. Not knowing the distance needed to succeed, the stopping then restarting and the temptation every lap to call it a day all add up to make this look brutal!

    • @RhodySeth
      @RhodySeth  Год назад +2

      Yeah, a different mindset is definitely required for this type of "race." I seem to hit my limit at the 14 hour/midnight mark so it will be interested to see if I push through that mental/physical barrier at Bubba's this year.

    Oh my...nope...pure torture for me...is there a prize for the first one out!! I'd win that one for sure! lol I'd have more than wheels coming off...yikes. TOP THREE!!! That's pretty exciting! Way to go...now for a well deserved rest and a nice cup of tea! lol Bruce and Otis

    • @RhodySeth
      @RhodySeth  Год назад +2

      The prize for first was that amazing shark trophy. I admit that I was hoping I'd be able to outlast everyone on this one. But Eric was not to be denied. He was looking very strong and has completed a couple 100 milers so I wasn't able to hang in the end.

      Thank you sir! While not much farther than my previous efforts, I'm more or less recovered at this point. So I feel like I'm in better shape than years past, even if my distance limits don't reflect that.

    Epic is the word Seth probably two laps three of my life depended on it
    Well done all of you (great effort 💪👏)

      Thanks Simon, I'm happy with how it went. Though it seems I've found my limit on these things. Can I train myself to go further into the night?

      Tough at the end but it's always good to test myself. Now to see if I can find the next phase of endurance to go deeper in these.

    The stamina you guys have to push that distance is amazing! I can't even guess how far I'd be before someone needed to pull me on a deer cart 🤣

      Built up over years of running. What's funny is how much walking is involved in a race like this. But it wears you down in the end!

  • @BearTrekAdventures
    @BearTrekAdventures Год назад +1

    Congrats on pushing out all those miles! That's pretty impressive. I bet that leg massager is a big help. Do they only allot so many minutes to complete each lap before the next lap starts?

    • @RhodySeth
      @RhodySeth  Год назад +1

      Amanda got me the massager for Christmas and I used it liberally between laps. I think it helped some - I targeted parts that got sore and it seemed to give a little more life to those areas. You have one hour to complete each lap with each subsequent lap starting at the top of the hour. Should I have tried for one more? I finished my 14th lap with only two minutes to spare and didn't think I'd be able to finish one more within the hour requirement. But we'll never know.

    Impressive Race! Congratulations on a fine job. Only comparable feat I've done was The Mount Washington Century. I rode 109 miles with over 6K feet of elevation gain.

    • @RhodySeth
      @RhodySeth  Год назад

      Thanks John. Yeah the elevation on this was no joke. There were two climbs on this course which wore us down. I ended up with 7100 feet per my watch.

    Nice race, I like the concept, it was friendly, my kind of challenge, going beyond your limit, how did you feel the next day?

    • @RhodySeth
      @RhodySeth  Год назад +1

      I didn't feel too bad! Some quad and calf soreness but I was able to get around pretty well. I had some tightness in a calf for much of the following week but I feel like overall my recovery from this one went quicker than previous ones. Definitely a different kind of race when the end isn't determined.

  • @AbundantAdventures

    Man i feel pathetic now. Lol great job getting 14 laps and the winner got 15. I wonder how many more laps the winner had left in him.
    Just nuts what people can do.

    • @RhodySeth
      @RhodySeth  Год назад +2

      Yeah, Eric was looking strong. I've no doubt he would have had no issue with several more laps. That's another aspect to this format. Maybe if it was Igor and myself left I would have found the resolve to head back out there. But knowing Eric was still in it...
