Larger than life--dude was my hero as a kid. Most of my friends in that era wanted to be "Like Mike." I wanted to be like the guy in my town: David Robinson. Will always be a legend.
My favorite player growing up!! Wrote a essay on him in high-school and my English teacher gave me spurs tickets... never forget that
High character, intelligence, off the chart physical attributes, and MVP-caliber talent. Only a handful of players in NBA history can claim that, and David is one of them.

The Admiral far surpassed the standard for what it means to be a "Professional" basketball player. He set the bar for the NBA in terms of carrying one's self with respect and to this day the league has never had another player remotely close in terms of genuine class.
David Robinson was the reason why I started watching, following NBA and Spurs as a kid, someone who's never seen a basketball game and later, he became my idol, someone to look up to when lacking a good father figure at that point of my life.
His character speaks for itself when he donated millions for school and refused to put up his name after the school to get notoriety or credit.
The most decent human being NBA or any sports will ever get to see, the Admiral.

As much as I love the Twin Towers, part of me hoped that Dennis Rodman had worked out in San Antonio. People forget that during his two best statistical games, his quad double and his 60 point game, Rodman was his Power Forward.

David was a real life Superhero for me growing up seeing him play as a child. He's always going to be my personal favorite player of all time. He's the perfect athlete on and off the court. Why haven’t they put up a David Robinson statue up in San Antonio yet? The single most import player in Spurs history. Without five O, San Antonio would be Seattle.
More like in Minnesota. Seattle had the supersonics in the league at that time before moving to OKC. The Spurs attendance was very poor. I remember Angelo Drosses mentioning about moving/selling the team. All that changed after we drafted Robinson. What a blessing for the city of San Antonio.

I was at a comedy club one night during his welcome visit and he was there with some players/hosts. The featured act that night was a hypnotist, and he had some girl hypnotized on stage who he gave the suggestion that DR was sitting there naked. Her response was so funny it brought down the house and DR was laughing along with the crowd.
Damn where that video. That would go viral today.
